3 Months On Mars: Perseverance
In just 3 short months, the Perseverance rover has captured over 70,000 images, multiple audio recordings and more than 4 videos of the Mars helicopter in flight.
Strange noises, undisclosed family portraits and relics brought from Earth are just some of the things revealed over the first leg of this incredible mission.
This, is 3 Months on Mars.
18th February, 2021. The Perseverance rover makes history by recording it’s descent and landing.
A coded message is hidden in the colouring of the parachute, which reads the phrase: ‘Dare Mighty Things’.
The heat shield is released, giving us a clear view of the surface.
The landing is fully automated; the craft is now checking for the best spot to land.
The sky-crane manoeuvre is initiated.
The video footage you are watching is currently being transmitted to the rover through a cable, before the cable is cut and the descent stage flies away to crash land.
Watch the video to find out what happens to the Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter after landing!
NASA, UK Space Agency congratulate India as Chandrayaan-3 scripts history with successful landing
India on August 23 scripted history by becoming the first country to successfully soft-land on the moon's south pole. Following the landing, congratulations poured in from all across the world including major space giants NASA and the UK Space Agency were among the ones who congratulated India immediately after it landed on the moon. Taking to X Handle, NASA’s Bill Nelson said that “We are glad to be your partner on this mission!” The UK Space Agency was also quick to congratulate India for the historic achievement. In a statement, Anu Ojha said that “Chandrayaan-3 on the moon is further evidence that we are living in a new space age”. With this success, India has become the fourth country- after the US, China and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface. India has also earned a place in record books as the first to touchdown on the south side of Earth’s only natural satellite.

Latest NASA Data Show Something Weird is Happening Inside Mars
In an incredible first, astronomers have discovered what lies at the core of Mars. It turns out, the Red Planet isn't as lifeless as we once thought. Mars wasn’t always a dusty, barren world. There’s plenty of evidence that the planet was warm, had lakes of liquid water, and was habitable for a short period in its history. Astronomers had always wanted to know the reason behind this transition, and for that, they had to know what lies at the core of Mars. When the InSight lander started studying the planet’s interior, it discovered that the planet is still rumbling with seismic activity. Now, following a rigorous half-decade mission, InSight has granted scientists a clear vision of the Martian core.
So, how does Mars' core differ from Earth's? What methods did InSight employ to unveil the core of the Red Planet? Finally, and most importantly, what does it tell us about the future of our planet?
The 61st episode of the Sunday Discovery Series answers these questions.
What Elon Musk And Michio Kaku JUST DID CHANGES EVERYTHING!
n recent discussions that have captivated the world, two visionary minds, Elon Musk and Michio Kaku, have collectively set in motion a series of transformative actions that have the potential to reshape the future of humanity. Their pioneering endeavors and groundbreaking ideas stand as a testament to the unyielding spirit of innovation that drives progress in the realms of technology, space exploration, and the understanding of the universe. From Elon Musk's audacious strides in revolutionizing space travel and sustainable energy solutions to Michio Kaku's insights into the future of humanity beyond Earth, these two trailblazers have embarked on journeys that challenge the boundaries of what was once thought possible. With their recent actions, Musk and Kaku have ignited a spark of inspiration that promises to leave an indelible mark on the course of history, reshaping our understanding of the cosmos and our place within it.
Professor Michio Kaku is a highly respected figure in the realm of physics, specifically known for his significant contributions to the field of string theory. His expertise extends beyond academia, as he has gained a reputation as an effective communicator of complex scientific ideas related to the future. With a remarkable ability to make advanced concepts accessible to a broader audience, he has authored multiple best-selling books that explore the frontiers of scientific thought. In his most recent work, titled 'The Future of Humanity: Terraforming Mars, Interstellar Travel, Immortality, and Our Destiny Beyond Earth,' Professor Kaku delves into a thought-provoking premise. He proposes that the survival and prosperity of humanity in the long term necessitate our expansion beyond the confines of our home planet. In this book, he delves into the fascinating and ambitious idea of terraforming Mars, making it habitable for humans, as well as the concept of interstellar travel and the tantalizing possibility of achieving immortality. By combining his expertise in theoretical physics with his talent for accessible communication, Professor Michio Kaku opens up discussions about the potential of humanity's future beyond Earth's boundaries. His work challenges us to consider not only the scientific and technological aspects of these grand ideas but also the philosophical and ethical implications of venturing into the cosmos.
In an interview, Professor Michio Kaku presents a compelling perspective on the potential challenges that humanity might encounter in the future. He envisions a scenario where the Earth's environment becomes increasingly hostile and unsuitable for human habitation due to various factors such as climate change, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events. In this context, he portrays a future where our species is confronted with a critical decision that will shape our destiny. He articulates this choice as a trifold proposition: we can either choose to leave Earth in search of new habitable locations, adapt to the changing conditions, or face the dire consequence of extinction. To drive home this urgency, Professor Kaku draws a thought-provoking analogy with the fate of dinosaurs. Unlike these ancient creatures, who were unable to save themselves from the catastrophic events that led to their extinction, humans possess the intellectual capacity and technological prowess to explore and establish settlements on other planets. By highlighting the potential of space exploration and colonization as a way to safeguard our species from the risk of extinction, Professor Kaku underscores the profound significance of these endeavors. His argument serves as a reminder that we are not bound to the limitations of a single planet and have the means to secure our future by proactively embracing the challenges of interplanetary exploration.

The Science of NASA's SpaceX Crew-6 Mission
After launching to the International Space Station on March 2, 2023, NASA's SpaceX Crew-6 mission is wrapping up its time in orbit, with a return to Earth in early September 2023.
NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, UAE (United Arab Emirates) astronaut Sultan Alneyadi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev spent their months on the orbiting lab conducting scientific investigations and technology demonstrations, including running a student robotic challenge, studying plant genetic adaptations to space, and monitoring human health in microgravity to prepare for exploration beyond low Earth orbit and to benefit life on Earth.
The astronauts also released Saskatchewan's first satellite, which tests a new radiation detection and protection system derived from melanin.
