Some give credit to author of The Richest Man In Babylon, George Clason, for the phrase Pay Yourself First. Written in 1926, generally, the idea was to invest 10 percent of one’s earning before anything else was done with the money. In more recent recent times, author Robert Kiyosaki of, Rich Dad, Poor Dad fame has been hammering this advice home. If you’re going to build a bank, should it just be enough for your own personal needs, or do you want to be able to offer financing beyond the needs of you and your loved ones.
