Cabinets Quick! has specialised in SEMI CUSTOM built-to-order cabinetry, from high-end residential work (using plywood and veneers) to commercial projects (laminates), and everything in between. Our factory features state-of-the-art equipment, and we only use durable, locally-sourced materials.

Particle board has carried a negative connotation in the US. Is often viewed as an inferior building product. Particle board is an engineered product manufactured from wood particles, such as wood chips and shavings, which are mixed with binding solution and then compacted into shape using extremely high pressure. Since it is essentially made from recycled wood materials, Particle board is not only environmentally friendly but more cost effective than using plywood.

We have access to many brands and styles of hinges and we will use whatever is requested by our customer but our standard hinge is Blum soft close. For someone not familiar with hinge products that probably doesn’t tell you much but for us in the cabinet trade this product gives us a whole lot of confidence and convenience. Blumotion is Blum’s soft close technology. A mechanism in the hinge cup slows down a closing door before it makes contact with the cabinet case eliminating the loud noise of a door slamming shut. This feature is great because it is convenient for our customers but also versatile. These hinges have a soft close deactivation switch for small or lightweight doors.

Plywood itself has many different varieties; however, for the sake of simplicity we will focus on the plywood we use at our factory. The plywood Cabinets Quick uses is from Columbia Forest (https://www.columbiaforestproducts.com/) a material called MPX. This basically means that out of the 5 layers that make up a ¾” board, the two outside layers are made from solid wood or poplar wood. These two layers or plies allow the board to have flat outside faces which allows for pe-finishing. The finish is roller coated on to the board and UV light cured. This finish is very environmentally friendly not only for manufacturing but for the end user as well. The UV light cured finish has no chemicals that cure with the evaporation of chemicals. The other notable characteristic of the Columbia Forest plywood is the glue used.
