Honey bees in close-up, collecting nectar from flowers
Honey bees in close-up, as they collect nectar from a flower that they return with to their hive, and ultimately turn it into honey.
Honey bees (or honeybees) are bees of the genus Apis, primarily distinguished by the production and storage of honey and the construction of perennial, colonial nests from wax. Honey bees are the only extant members of the tribe Apini, all in the genus Apis. Currently, only seven species of honey bee are recognized, with a total of 44 subspecies, though historically, from six to 11 species have been recognised. Honey bees represent only a small fraction of the roughly 20,000 known species of bees. Some other types of related bees produce and store honey, but only members of the genus Apis are true honey bees. The study of honey bees is known as apiology.

A large whirlpool forms inside a 70-foot diameter acrylic bowl and falls 2 stories to a pool below. The artwork, a collaboration with architect Moshe Safdie, functions as both a skylight and a rain collector. The rain water is recycled back to the whirlpool and also fills a canal that runs through the atrium. The pumps that direct water into the bowl are turned on and off a few times an hour so the whirlpool is always changing in shape and intensity. At peak flow rates there are 8000 gallons per minute falling through the atrium and 200 tons of water swirling around in the bowl. Extensive prototyping and engineering went into integrating the artwork into the structural and mechanical systems of the building. Completed in 2011.

Easy to cook tasty Red Grouper steamed in the wok
Excellently tasty Red Grouper steamed in the wok
Groupers are aromatic, delicious, strange, and not greasy as shrimps or crabs until the last piece to be eaten. Groupers including red groupers, black groupers and tiger groupers are always the most popular type of fish among the sea fishes because of their white, sweet, tough flesh. Normal groupers are not as good as red groupers because in addition to the taste as mentioned above, red groupers also have good smell and red skin color when cooked that there is not any kind of fish better.
In order to keep the sea taste, you should use just a little of spice (I use a bit of salt only) for red grouper. The fish should be streamed with ginger, small spring onion, soy sauce, and cooked over a medium fire so that it is well done. That keeps the original taste of fish. The fish skin is red, greasy and crispy, and the flesh is tough, white and sweet-smelling.
Cooking:
Step 1: Cleaning the fish, then cutting vertical or horizontal lines on the skin.
Step 2: Aromatizing fish with soy sauce, pepper, ginger or dark soy sauce, mushrooms, red cut chilli, then steaming it in 10 -- 15 minutes.
Step 3: Spreading small spring onion cut into threads on the fish together with a sliced tomato chopped parsley. The fish should be hot and eaten with dark soy sauce. Red grouper with unique taste has long since deserved to be the best seafood.

Lion Dance at a hawker centre
According to traditional Chinese belief, the lion signifies courage, stability and superiority. The lion’s dance is performed to chase away ghosts and evil spirits, and since the monsters, ghosts, evil spirits and giants like Nian are afraid of loud noises, the dance has become a natural complement to the fire crackers' noise. Clashing cymbals, a gong and drums usually accompany this lively scene. The lion’s every movement has a specific musical rhythm. The music follows the moves of the lion, the drum follows the lion, the cymbals and the gong follow the drum player. Throughout the performance, the Lion will mimic various moods and demonstrate similar physical gestures allowing the Lion to look life-like.

Lion dance at a HDB flat
Lion dances take place during the first few days of the Chinese New Year.
The dance of a Lion is preformed by two performers, one at the head of the lion, one at the tail of the lion. The head of the lion is made out of papier mâché and the nearly constant twinkle and movement of the lion’s eyelids as well as the movement of the head and mouth are supposed to enhance the lion’s vitality and longevity, while the tail of the lion sweeps away bad fortune and unpleasant things from last year.

Robot Helper in the Restaurant
Restaurant robot delivers the future of food service. Although slow and still in need of human assistance, the restaurant robot does add a sufficient amount of futurism to an otherwise pedestrian dining experience. I saw this robot at the "Supreme Tastes Jiang Cuisine" Restaurant at Marina Square in Singapore.
Supreme Tastes Jiang Nan Cuisine is specialized in Jiang Nan cuisine as the name suggests, as well as Lanzhou Ramen (hand-pulled noodles). It is also the first and only Chinese restaurant that offers healthy multi-grain food in Singapore. The interior design of the restaurant is Jiang Nan style with an open kitchen, where guests could see how the Ramen and the Shanshui beancurd are made in house. Supreme Tastes believes in serving guests with heartily delicious food and heartily sincere service, in the hope to bring a green and healthy dining experience to all diners.

Pigeon Disease can be a Health Risk for Human
...be alert what to eat, where to buy food and especially where it comes from
Pigeons and Disease - How Much of a Health Risk, Really?
Pest control experts and public health specialists warn that there are dozens of different human pathogens associated with pigeons, including some that can be dangerous or even deadly. Many experts feel that pigeons are a significant health risk to people.
Pigeon fanciers, wildlife groups, and other public health experts scoff at this claim, insisting that the human health risks from pigeons are exaggerated and that pigeons do not pose a significant disease risk to people.

How to open the oyster shell - SKILLFUL OYSTER OPENING
Clean the outside of the oyster under running water to remove in loose grit or barnacles. Rub the shell with your fingers or use a stiff brush if you have one for this purpose.
Hold the oyster in a towel or oven mitt with the hinge (pointed side) sticking out. This will protect your hand if the oyster knife slips.
With the flat side of the oyster up, insert the tip of an oyster knife near the hinge.
You only need to insert the knife about 1/2 an inch. Do not use a regular knife to open oysters. There is too great a risk of slipping and severely injuring yourself. An oyster knife is a special blunted knife made for this purpose. They're cheap, too. If you're going to buy oysters in the shell, spend a couple extra bucks for the proper knife.
