Runnin' with The Devil intro scrape trick
Eddie used a stop tail piece guitar when recording Runnin' with The Devil, so he strummed between the tail pieces for that scrape. Some guys suggest strumming behind the nut as an alternative, but that sounds like trash.
Bar the first fret with your index finger, and mute the strings with your other three. Now strum between nut and first fret. Don't forget to mute em or they will ring out and ruin it!

Playthrough of Death Was Arrested by Adam Kersh, Brandon Coker, Heath Balltzglier
I completely rewired my pedal board. Now running the Strymon Iridium in the loop of the HX Stomp to take advantage of the built in drives.
In this configuration I can run external drives and internal HX drives in front of the Iridium.
I believe this is an improvement to my tone. Let me know how you think it sounds please!
Gear Used:
PRS SE Starla with a SD Pearly Gates in the Bridge
Strymon Iridium with DH XR IR Greenbacks
HX Stomp:
a. Prize Drive
b. Compulsive Drive
c. Mono effects loop (for Iridium)
d. Stereo effects loop
e. Stereo Heliosphere Delay
f. Stereo Vintage Digital Delay
g. Stereo Chorus
h. Stereo Ganymede Reverb
Keeley 4 knob compressor
MXR 10 Band EQ
I have the Iridium set very clean now with the gain around 10 or 11 oclock. Crystal clean with no drives. I believe this keeps the
Iridium sounding dynamic vs. over compressed when introducing drives. The gain knob on the Iridium is very sensitive, you can go right into high gain territory on both the chime and punch models.

The Battle for Good Worship Tone
I've been battling worship tone ever since I first played electric guitar in a church, and it took me a few years before I even knew what I was trying to do.
Here are some thoughts and what I've been using lately to try and get the best worship tone I can.

Playthrough of The Lord Our God by Kristian Stanfill and Jason Ingram
I just learned this song for church and the chorus rocks. Its really only two parts but its great, listen to the chorus. Stereo delays, stereo reverb goodness. Credit for the excellent transcription of the parts goes to Troy at Guitar 4 HIS Glory on YouTube.

Michael Angelo Batio's
Here is a demonstration of Michael Angelo Batio's "Monster Lick" that was from the first Speed Kills video. Its a great general arpeggio exercise at any tempo. Here is a take at 80 bpm and a follow up at 120 bpm. The first example is the 5 string arpeggio and the 2nd one is the 3 string. Each one goes through the Monster Lick progression.

Van Halen - Panama!
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of 1984, here is a play through of Panama! Just one of the multiple hits off this album. The band went out with a bang with their last effort with David Lee Roth. Its not perfect, but its almost there.

Epic 80s Riffs Volume 5 - Power Metal
If you are a Pantera fan and you have not heard the Power Metal album, you are missing out. I can forgive missing Projects in the Jungle, but Power Metal is the first one with Phil and Dime is just displaying pure unadulterated aggression.
This riff is intense. Played once fast and then slow. This is very indicative of Dime's playing on the whole album, his solos are insane. From what I read Dime got a lot of his technique studying Michael Angelo Batio's "Star Licks" video, which is also worth checking out. This is a unique album, different from all the earlier and older ones, the boys are young and just getting started. I recommend it strongly if you haven't heard the album.

Epic 80s Riffs Volume 4 - Dr. Feelgood
Mick Mars is usually one of the last guys think of when they think 80s shredders, but he is as solid as any of them and writes amazing riffs and solos, which I think carried Motley through their career. Here is one of his best. All tracks were recorded using the same guitar, patch and gear. The production on Dr. Feelgood is one of the best of the era, the side tracks of Mick playing the dives and harmonics builds this up so well.
Instead of just playing the riff, I put together a drum track and bass, and recorded all the tracks heard, in stereo. I'm a poor producer but having the drum, and bass really make this riff shine.

Epic 80s Riffs Volume 3 - Welcome to the Jungle!
This riff is a monster. I believe I have it clean enough to get away with playing live, but Slash really had some technique coming up with this. It took hours and hours of practice to get it here, I'm getting close to having it mastered.
Gear Used:

Epic 80s Riffs Volume 2 - Hot For Teacher !
This is my favorite Van Halen song. Eddie is digging in here, the tempo is burning this is like Van Halen thrash! The hardest part is catching the rhythm at the beginning of the main riff, especially with the syncopation. I would argue it was around this release that Edward began to peak technically.
Gear Used:
Home built Frankenstrat, paf style import pickup, OFR Bridge off an original Kramer Pacer Special

Eugene's Trick Bag, training speeds
This has got to be the toughest piece I've ever attempted. I think the hardest part to nail clean out of all of it are the octave jump arpeggios right before the end. I didn't clock the tempo just tried to go as fast as I could with minimal mistakes, its a beast!

Epic 80s Riffs Volume 1 - Lay It Down!
Lay it Down. Probably the most epic riff of the decade. Everytime I hear it I picture myself at the Garden in 1985. Recorded with the following:
Kramer Pacer Special
HX Stomp - cab, delay, reverb
Strymon Iridium - Plexi preamp mode
MXR 10 Band EQ
Caline PureSky overdrive
D&M Drive boost side
Recorded into Ableton Live 9 in stereo.
