2021 Coaches Clinic #7 - Offense - Firebird Foundational Offense
The "Pass & Screen" or "Pass and Cut" is the universal "basic" offense that every firebird should be able to run.
It is based on the idea that we ALWAYS SPREAD THE FLOOR on offense.
Starts 5 out, can move to 4 out 1 in.
Players get in triple threat EVERY TIME they get the ball and attack the middle if they can.
Every player should know when to make an automatic back door cut when they don't have the ball.

This BEGINS with catching the ball in a "TRIPLE THREAT" position EVERY TIME. Coaches need to focus on this as team in every aspect of a Firebird practice.
Players make good decisions with the ball when their body is under control.

Player spends 1 min at each location: under basket, middle lane, inside free-throw line, free throw line, elbow to elbow, inside 3 pt line, three point line, elbow line extended to 3pt line on both sides. (keep smaller players closer)

2021 Coaches Clinic #5 - Shooting - 3-2-1 Shooting Drill
Shoot a 3, then a pull up jumper from mid range and then finish with a layup. (by themselves or with a passer)
Do this from 5 different spots on the court scoring 3=3pts, mid range=2, layup=1, to hit them all for a total of 30pts is the goal.
MAKE SURE PLAYERS ARE GETTING IN TRIPLE THREAT EVERY TIME THEY CATCH THE BALL (from a passer or if they are spinning the ball to themselves)
