The rain has been coming hard and heavy for over a week now, not much progress getting done outside, but it's a welcome sight, everything was brown and struggling already. On the property there is a heavily overgrown creek, we want to be able to get to it/look at it, so this week I take the skid steer down and start clearing an area for the excavator to get in there. Without this major mod, the skid steer won't be able to do what I really need it to do (plow and insanely dangerous laneway). Part 3 of the Case Skidsteer series. In this we continue to clean the interior, debug some small electrical issues and change out the oil. This one went a little long so I decided to leave the last few things, like final clean, attachments and even the new tracks for another video. The oil in this looked pretty ripe, so I plan to run it with some seafoam and then swap it out again in a few weeks. Very easy to drain the fluids on this machine, I'm more and more impressed with it the more I work on it. Just a wandering around the new property, seeing if I can find a nice, quite, safe space(ha!) to build a small shooting cabin. I want to be able to use a MOUNTAIN as a backstop, and I think I can make that happen.

Just a glimpse into the daily routine. Life is indeed what you make it. Home shop/studio is almost done, so I should be able to get some content soon. I packed up the family and left the poisoned atmosphere of a "progressive" big city, and moved quite literally to the middle of the woods. It didn't take long from being removed froim the noise, confusion, fear and stupidity of the city to be able to see just how much people are being manipulated.

To help reinforce the inherent value of the nuclear family unit from the constant attacks from all sides, we have decided to move the whole extended clan to property in the mountains, where we can re-connect with nature, and each other.

I figured many of my American brothers and sisters don't get to see these very often, if at all, and since it was due for a cleaning, I figured to might enjoy a peek inside one of them. This gun doesn't leave the vault very often. It's not much fun to shoot, the controls are awkward, and it's not overly accurate, even with a fairly good optic. Disclaimer: This is not a tutorial. Tearing down my new companion and ATV gun, something I want to have with me when walking the trails in the mountains. Bear and mountain-lion attacks are rare, but not unheard of, and I think I look very delicious. The quality on this wasn't terrible, but it wasn't exceptional either, it was "good enough for government work". After some cleaning, buffing, filing, and putting a few hundred rounds though it, it really started to feel good. This is not a tutorial however, if you're not comfortable or capable of doing these things yourself, PLEASE refer to a qualified gunsmith, those guys are worth their weight in gold sometimes, and I will never recommend you don't refer to one on any firearm work. So I went to the cupboard, but the cupboard was bare. I needed 357, and not a moment to spare! Off to the bench I ran like a loon, all the time thinking "I'm such a maroon!" Complete teardown and de-leading of a 28-2 Smith and Wesson "highway patrolman" in 357 Magnum. I think these are some of the finest looking pistols in the world, and glad to find one in the classic style. This one was heavily leaded, to the point the old owner thought it needed a new barrel, and he had no interest in putting in the elbow grease to clean it up, so he stated a price, and I took him up on it.
