Homemade Tortillas | Do it yourself
Making homemade Tortillas yourself takes about 20-30 minutes, and its super easy!
In this video, I show/Explain how, with a dash of sarcastic attitude due to my first 2 attempts not working! haha.
Recipe:
2 cups sifted flour(I used unbleached all purpose)
1 1/4th tsp salt
1/4th tsp baking powder
1/4 cup of melted lard (you might be able to use butter..)
start with 2/3 cup water, and add from there!
Mix everything together, and add water until the dough is more wet and sticky. Original recipe said crumbly, NO! that's sad! hahaha
Add water until you feel the dough is right for you!
Knead, roll into 4 separate balls, and roll one out as THIN as humanly possible!
Put the tortilla in a HOT DRY pan, and fry until the bubbles appear, then flip. Once its ready take it out of the pan and put on a cooling rack.
Repeat :)

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread
BREADDDD TIMEEEE
YOU NEED:
A scale, mixing bowl, OR if you have a stand mixer.
Ingredients: ALL GRAMS(except yeast)
440 g Warm Water
180 g Milk (i use whole milk)
260 g Salted butter
130 g sugar
4-5 tsp Active Yeast
28 g salt
1,050 g Flour
1 egg
cinnamon
brown sugar
raisins
In a big bowl on the scale, mix together 400g warm water, 180 g milk, 260 g butter, 5 tsp yeast, 130 g sugar.
Let sit for a min, covered.
Uncover, add in the 28 g salt, and 1,050 g flour(i use bread flour, you can use all purpose). Put on stand mixer(if you have one), and let it do its thing!
Once it is kneaded, put dough on slightly floured surface and knead until into a smooth ball. Add into a bowl, and cover, let rise for 40 mins.
Knead again, and let rise for another 30 mins.
Take out your dough, and separate into the two parts. Roll one part out like a rectangle shape. Take your egg and crackle it in a bowl, adding some water, and mix well. take a brush, and brush a thinnish layer onto the dough evenly. Take brown sugar mixed with a bit of cinnamon(mixed well), and sprinkle all over the dough. Take raisins, and sprinkle them all over.
Then roll your dough into a tube like form.
Cut it in half, and twist it to make a twisty bread.
Put in your oiled pan!, and then repeat!
Once both are in the bread pans, cover and let sit for an hour or just under.
Take tin foil, and cover your loaves, but allow room for it to rise, dont suffocate it.
I recommend putting tin foil on the bottom rack, or bottom of the oven, as the brown sugar will bubble and rise, and it will make a mess, been there, done that!
Preheat your oven to 350F, I never preheat it.. haha.
Put your bread in(tin foil on them), and bake until done. Usually about 1 hr to 1.5 hrs. Keep an eye on them!
Take them out when done, and tin foil off. Walk away for about half hour.
After take a butter knife and go around the edges to take the bread away from the pan. Do this until the bread feels like it will fall out when flipped over, else you will rip your loaves in half.
Let them cool fully.
You can cut these in half and put them in the freezer, or keep full!
They stay fresh for about 1-1.5 weeks. and then they are no good.

Protein Granola Bars
Bake 2.5 Cups of Oats, or Granola at 350, for about 5mins. Take them out, then let them cool
In a small pot on the stove, add in
1/3 cup Honey, 1/4 cup Butter(i use salted), 1/4 cup Brown Sugar, 1/2 tsp Vanilla, 1/4 tsp salt, 3 TBSP Peanut Butter, sprinkle of cinnamon. Let all of that melt together slowly in the pot.
Once melted, take it off the burner and let it sit for a min.
In a larger bowl, add your cooled oats/granola, toppings of choice(i did raisins and chocolate), and if you want protein, add in 1.5-2 scoops protein powder, if not, leave it out and add another topping.
Mix the wet ingredients into the dry thoroughly, and put in a wax paper lined 8x8 baking sheet, top with more toppings if you would like, and then put in the fridge for a minimum of 2-4 hours before cutting.

I talked a bit to much.. Oh well! | White Bread Recipe
#homestead #homesteading #whitebread #baking #canadian #ontario #kamlander
Hello everyone!
Welcome back, I hope you are well! In this video I will share my basic white bread recipe(I do not remember where I found it) and I also explain a bit of what I do, and what this channel's intent will be!
I hope you stick around!
White Bread: (2 Loaves)(900G loaves)
Stand mixer is best, but you can just do this by hand(I have)
(INGREDIENTS)
-2.5 Cups warm water
-3 TBSP sugar
-7 G yeast
-3 TBSP MELTED Lard
-1 TBSP salt
6.5 cups SIFTED flour
Mix 2.5 Cups warm water with 3 TBSP of Sugar, and 7G of yeast. Mix, let sit for 5 mins, or until yeast is foamy looking.(I usually cover it for 5 mins)
In this bowl, add 3 TBSP MELTED Lard, 1 TBSP of salt, and 4 cups SIFTED flour. I use all purpose flour.
after mixed, add ANOTHER 2.5 cups, sifted flour until mixed well.
Kneed the dough on a floured surface until in a smoothish roundish ball, and let sit in the bowl for 1 hour with tea towel on top.
Take 2 Oiled bread pans (I use salted butter, up to you!), and split the dough in half, as shown in the video. Roll the dough into a bread like shape, and place in oiled pan. Cover, and let sit for 40 mins, WHILE this rises, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
After 40 mins, put tin foil ontop of pans, and bake the bread in oven until done.
I usually go for about 1 hr, sometimes a bit longer, just go until you feel it is ready, i bake until the top is brown like. Take out when finished, and let sit for a bit, before you take them out of the pan, and let sit to completely cool.
I hope you enjoy this recipe!
Thanks for watching!

Almost everybody online shows their cellar or pantry.
Honestly, I didn't want to at first, because its my hard work, just like everyone else. But i also did show it because it is the work not only I have put into it, but my mother as well.
I show it because, I started from NOTHING, and worked my way up.
I get SO excited when I learn new things in the kitchen, and I hope you do to!
