The remaining 23 eggs are developing along. Some air cells are not increasing as desired, while others are on course. I decided to decrease the humidity about 5% to see if they will progress at a better rate before lockdown.

Hatching out a baby chick and it struggles to walk can be stressful. Most of the time it can be fixed up with some vet wrap on its legs. The severity of the situation determines how long the wrap is needed. Provided there isn’t an underlying joint issue, the chick is good as new.

These spoiled geese have it pretty carefree. Life is good if your a goose.

Leave it to this goose to get covered in mud. Tater Tot had a blast playing in a puddle. It was nice to have some sunshine.

The geese have a prefect start to the day. Sunshine has been hard to find here in Minnesota lately. Having cold nights, brings ice on the pond.

Tater Tot spent chore time getting muddy. For a goose, he sure has a blast getting himself dirty. He’s not so hot on getting cleaned up afterwards.

The horses are looking forward to the snow melting. It’s been a long winter, and warmer weather is almost here.

These two geese don’t have much time for fun when there are eggs to hatch. They will be occupied with taking care of their nest. Fingers crossed, they will soon have some goslings to care for.

On week 2 you can see the embryo moving inside. I reviewed 24 eggs and ended up with 23 still clicking along.

Tootsie has to make a decision on where to go to lay her egg. Her usual nesting spot is no longer available. This posed a dilemma for her. She finally figured it out.

It was time to put some eggs under Wheezy. We will have to wait until next week to see if any magic happens.

In the spring it is common for two ganders to fight. The reality of owning geese isn’t always pretty.

Tater Tot loves mud puddles. It is a nice reminder to make the time to do what brings you happiness. Those simple little things that make you smile. Life is precious and it’s worth slowing down to enjoy.

The morning’s chores couldn’t have went any better for Tater Tot. The geese were happy to catch up on the latest news, and everyone said hello to him. Regardless of the snow, everyone was in a great mood.

It’s still a secret, but it won’t be for long. Geese love cattails, and word will get out. This will be everyone’s new favorite hangout spot on the farm.

Bert and Wheezy find some fun at the front yard swimming hole. They didn’t let the weather interfere with having fun.

As soon as the pond thaws at his new home, Sven will get to meet the goose of his dreams. Provided all works out, Sven will have his own pond and all the grass he can eat.

A little Minnesotan chat with Tater Tot. Yeah, sure, you betcha. Uff-Da. Tater Tot had a few close calls. Overall, all it was good. If you know what I mean.
