Met up with Andrew at Glentress to ride the new trails. Tail head to top of the red (twitcher) took me 25 mins The new Glentress trails will blow you away and I don't just mean because of the wind. The berms are well built and the jumps can all be rolled. That doesn't mean you won't be able to progress because you will. Glentress has had a series of new trails built. The new black taster at trail lets you see what kind of skill level you'll need to ride the longer black trail "Castle Black".

Trying to keep 30mph but it doesn't last very long.

Particularly like how close the second car is. If you are videoing your rides make sure you can see the bike in it.

I don't get very many close passes on my road rides as I take up an offensive line in the road. This guy had plenty of time to slow down and stop at the light.

Top Chief is the nevis range black trail. It can only be accessed by the gondola. Top chief is a technically difficult rocky trail with plenty of obstacles to catch you out. It is not one for beginners and care should be taken while riding it. It is a significant step up from the new blue trail Blue Doon. I haven't ridden top chief for 6 years so took it easy. Looking forward to getting back and ridding it more. Properly set up brakes and lever angle is important so you don't get any hand strain/arm pump. The trail is physically demanding on mere mortals and if you crash a trip to A&E is likely. Recorded on a gopro hero 7 black with a chin mount. Just how rocky and technical are top chief and the DH trails - Very is the simple answer. Really happy with my Noah & Theo ceramic pads that did the job even with my brake dragging down the trails. 0:00 Intro 0:33 Top Chief 4:39 Downhill These are my first runs down the two trails so I have no idea what the obstacles or terrain is like. While I am pretty slow down both I really enjoyed the ride on both and looking forward to getting back for more laps. There are plenty of bits that can catch you out on these trails. Stupidly set up my camera with the incorrect ISO levels so most of the footage I recorded was unusable. Visiting my Auntie in Wales I popped over to Antur Stiniog to meet up with @HallMarc_Trails and friends who had organised a little group ride. First time at Stiniog and it didn't disappoint. Trails were hard going particularly on the hands with all the breaking but there wasn't anything you couldn't use a chicken line for.
