AI FOR GOOD - AI and Medicine
Artificial intelligence will change lives in many ways. Already, AI solutions are being deployed and having significant impact in healthcare. Daniel Kraft, MD, Chair for Medicine, Singularity University, shares his expert views on how significant this technology will be in finding the right diagnosis and therapies and shifting the ‘practice’ of medicine to the real ‘science’ of medicine.

ABOUT XPRIZE : XPRIZE is an educational (501c3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring about radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity, thereby inspiring the formation of new industries and the revitalization of markets that are currently stuck due to existing failures or a commonly held belief that a solution is not possible. XPRIZE addresses the world's Grand Challenges by creating and managing large-scale, high-profile, incentivized prize competitions that stimulate investment in research and development worth far more than the prize itself. It motivates and inspires brilliant innovators from all disciplines to leverage their intellectual and financial capital.

DON'T GO INTO RADIOLOGY - AI is Taking Over
An artificial intelligence tool that reads chest X-rays without oversight from a radiologist got regulatory clearance in the European Union last week — a first for a fully autonomous medical imaging AI and the company Oxipit. It’s a big milestone for AI and likely to be contentious, as radiologists have spent the last few years pushing back on efforts to fully automate parts of their job.
However, is this going to help or hurt radiologists? In this video, I talk about this article and then also discuss my thoughts on artificial intelligence taking over Radiology.
03:53 - What is Chestlink
05:56 - What does American College of Radiology think?
06:52 - Questions I have about AI
09:28 - Does this reduce a Radiologist’s workload?

IBM researchers bring AI to radiology
With advances in machine learning and artifiical intelligence, a new role is emerging for machines as intelligent assistants for radiologists in their clinical work flow. This recording of the Eyes of Watson demonstration from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2016 annual meeting shows how a clinician can select a case from various sub-specialties, attempt to make a diagnosis, and see how a work-in-progress Watson technology attempts to assist the same case.
Eyes of Watson is a joint effort by RSNA and IBM Research to show how machines of the future may be able to assist radiologists.

AI in Medicine: Possible Applications and Potentials
#OER #MOOC #LearningPlatform
There are many possible applications and potentials for artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine. Symptom checking apps can help people with health conditions in their daily lives. MRI scans, which consist of a lot of different image data, can be processed with the help of artificial neural networks, thus patterns contained therein and diseases can be recognised. To handle data in a responsible and reflective manner is important.
Learn more about the possible uses for AI in medicine on the AI Campus: https://ai-campus.org/.
The AI Campus is the learning platform for artificial intelligence with many free online courses, videos and podcasts in different areas of AI.
The digital learning platform has been available to the public as a beta version since July 2020 and is in continuous development. As an R&D project, the AI Campus is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
