Decided to take a walk around our yard. Watermelon plants merge from huglemound to sand hill.

Two weeks ago I videoed a glimpse of this hugelmound and talked about my plans for it. The watermelons are in a slow dance toward each other now, the okra's up, as are the Serrano peppers, flowers, and herbs.

Permaculture Beginnings in planting zone 8A. This video shows one area of our transitioning yard. This hillside had been a mess for years but now we have planted a pomegranate tree, a loquat, blueberries, Nanking cherries, and more.

This is a mid-summer look at H1, H2, and H3 our three hugelkultur units built by my husband and son.
