A woman was arrested after firing a handgun inside Dallas Love Field Airport. She was shot by an officer, arrested and taken to the hospital. She then opened fire, he said. An officer shot the woman in her "lower extremities" to stop her, Garcia said. Nobody else was injured. Garcia said the woman was arrested and taken to a hospital. Her name has not been released, and it’s not clear why she fired the shots at the ceiling.

Instead, officers treated the shooter as a barricaded subject, a judgment that may have contributed to the decision not to break into the classroom immediately. “It was the wrong decision. Period," McCraw said. "There's no excuse for that." Seventy-nine minutes passed between the time the gunman began firing outside Robb Elementary School and the moment police shot him dead. While police failed to act, 10-year-olds and their teachers were making frantic calls to 9-1-1. Between bouts of tears, McCraw acknowledged that the decision was not only wrong but catastrophic. Having as many as 19 officers wait in a school hallway for more officers and equipment while students and teachers called 9-1-1 from inside the classroom could have cost lives.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has told the BBC that Iran forced her to sign a false confession before allowing her to fly home to the UK. She says she did so “under duress” in Iran in the presence of a British official. Her lawyer has written to the UK Foreign Secretary asking for an explanation of why she was “told to sign a false confession by her own government”. The British-Iranian national was freed by Iran in March 2022, along with fellow detainee Anoosheh Ashoori, six years after being arrested on spying charges. Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe says that the Iranian authorities would not let her board her plane home until she had signed the last-minute false confession.

Putin blockades hundreds of civilians inside Mariupol steel plant The fight to take Mariupol has intensified while more than 1,000 civilians and Ukrainian troops are reportedly taking shelter at the Azovstal Steel mill in the Sea of Azov port city of Mariupol, Reuters reports. Russia has reinforced its invading force in Ukraine with about 11 battalion tactical groups in recent days, a senior defense official said Monday, speaking on condition of anonymity to describe the department's assessments. The reinforcements, as many as 11,000 troops, come as Russia continues to move more heavy artillery, helicopters and command and control units into the region, the official said.
