RV Lift kit, lifting a travel trailer with spring over axle trailer conversion.
Need more clearance for your trailer? In this video I show an overview of what is involved converting my RV travel trailer from spring under to spring over.
With a few hours of work and a welder swapping your trailer to spring over is a fairly simple task. It can help add some much needed clearance for dry camping or boondocking. Keeping the drains up above rough roads is a primary concern for anyone going off grid with their trailer.
There are a few important factors to consider when making this swap so do your research before hand. The nice part is the conversion is easily reversible if for whatever reason you wish to return the trailer to stock form.
No need to pay for an "offroad" sticker package when most trailers can be raised a few inches and better suited tires put on.
If at all possible get your parts from a reputable local trailer shop. More than likely they will have what you need in stock and will be cheaper than paying shipping and can help with fitment questions, also handy if you need parts later to know a good counter rep.
For those like me who live in the middle of nowhere, here is a list of parts needed for those who will ask. Be SURE of your axle diameter before ordering any spring seats or perches!

Jeep Hardtop Droning Noise, Cabin Pressure fix.
Does your Jeep hard top make a deep droning or over pressure, bass like noise that hurts your ears or gives you a headache? I have found a simple solution that helped me for under $50.
I believe it is a simple issue, caused by the flexible sides, windows and top all moving at a frequency that causes pressure on peoples ear drums as a loud stereo or altitude would. I have no idea why it is only an issue in some Jeep vehicles, and not all. I found, in our case just rolling the window down it was still pretty bad, and not practical in hot or winter driving. I think some people are more susceptible to this than others. It seems to not be as bad when the rear is full up with cargo, but empty it was causing both my wife and I to get almost instant headaches on bumpy dirt roads, and some paved ones... luckily I found a simple work around for cheap.

TW200 Adventure ride, abandoned mine in the mountains explore
Ride along as we explore a deep mountain trail that leads to an abandoned mine. We will explore the area and ride some excellent trails on the T-dub.
This is the kind of adventure I bought the little TW200 for, putting along taking in the sights and sounds of an area. Too often on bigger bikes the trend is to fly through an area on a quest to crush miles. The TW200 is a bit different, encouraging a slower pace and "take every path" kind of mindset.

Water Bottle Mod for better insulation on a budget.
In this video I show trick I have been using for the past few years to keep my water cold much longer in the heat of the summer. No need to buy a fancy high dollar water bottle, with this tip you can make any bottle or canteen stay cool longer all for cheaper than buying one big name water bottle.
The bonus is there are many uses for this idea in hot and cold weather.

Motorcycle Camping Kit, Budget Motocamping or Car Camping.
In this video I show my camping kit I use for motorcycle camping. Budget friendly and fairly compact, can be used for short hike in camping as well. I have spoken to some first time campers who get overwhelmed at gear choice and high priced gear. In this video I focus on just the essentials and keep it budget friendly.
One item I did not mention, that I keep in my vehicle as standard is a first aid/emergency kit. I kind of feel this deserves a more in depth video if there is interest. Definitely look into building yourself a small kit that caters to your needs in that area.
Video Using This Camping Kit: https://rumble.com/v2wcl6s-klr-650-motocamping.-low-tech-low-budget-adventure..html
List of items... some not available/discontinued. I will try and provide links if available.
Affiliate links below for amazon, If you use them I get a small kickback.

Cook Kit, simple set with added Toaks Ti 1300 Pot. I use the ti Pot for hiking as well.
Similar Set: https://amzn.to/44fLVU9
Stove: Old discontinued Primus.
Cheaper stove option: https://amzn.to/3rkPFVO
Or this one works, bigger but more stable: https://amzn.to/3PT36GR

I like these folding cups for small kits: https://amzn.to/3O2ZWPo
Water filter, Sawyer Mini: https://amzn.to/447JdQt Tip here is to purchase when on sale for every kit you have.
Lantern is UCO sprout: https://amzn.to/3rmt9Mk
The utensil set shown is from JetBoil, IDK if still available
Travel toothbrush, paste, advil or asprin, small bug sauce, sunblock, all found at dollar store
Tarp was purchased years ago off of a forum store, not really cheap IDK if still made.
Replacement tarp: Seems ok quality friend has one: https://amzn.to/44ejExd
Sleep pad is old discontinued model off of a-zon, any 35$ one would work... try before you leave home though!
The Tent is a super cheap walmart junior sized tent, discontinued now but cost 16$ on clearance.
Camping Chair is just one of the many no name cheap folders, but has held up well. Definitely a camp luxury: https://amzn.to/3D5QX9M
A survival/emergency kit is also highly recommended with the minimum IMO turniquite and some compression bandages and Quick Clot gauze.
AMK Trauma Pak : https://amzn.to/46IdyqG
Comp dressing and tourniquet I would by from local reputable local dealer.

KLR 650 Motocamping. Low tech, Low budget adventure.
Adventure on a Small Budget. You don't need to spend a fortune to get outdoors and have some fun. In this video we will enjoy a scenic ride through the Palouse area, travel into the foothills of Idaho and wild camp in the forest. I show my budget camping setup, a good low cost meal, entertainment and forage for some wild edibles.
One nice thing about MotoCamping is the travel to and from becomes much more a part of the adventure. Being in the elements really takes it from a dull couch sitting session to a full sensory experience. The hot or cold wind, the sound of your machine working, humming of the tires, other traffic. The smell of wild flowers, or fresh cut crops, lake or river water in the cool low spots of the road. It is an experience like no other. To top it all off, a good machine will sip fuel at a fraction of the rate the typical SUV does.

Winter Survival Shelter Camping, No Fire, No Tool Build
Staying overnight in the Survival Shelter I built in my last video. No fire, No sleeping bag, No tarp, Freezing temps.
With a little ingenuity a simple shelter can be made with few materials and bare hands. This type of shelter is popular in survival classes and books. Unfortunately in the Arid Scablands we have very few materials to work with, no logs for cabins or big fires, no pine boughs or palm fronds, no bamboo for making huts. We have grass and sedges in abundance though it just takes a little creativity to make a shelter. This technique can be replicated in many other biomes as well.... but remember if you use it in warmer temps you will probably have uninvited guests, then again in warmer temps you probably wont need to crawl into bushes to shelter from exposure either.
And if you do carry a decent survival pack, it can make a big difference in comfort. A few essentials will go a long way.
I hope this can be useful to someone, whether it is for an emergency shelter, bug out hide, hunting blind or just an unexpected overnighter.

Winter Survival Shelter, Bugout Shelter, Overnight Emergency
How to build a simple winter survival shelter for use in an overnight stay in the field. If you end up getting caught out in bad weather while out in the field and have limited resources this style shelter can be made with no tools, and little skill. Just build it small and use as much material as you have energy to gather, the more you get the warmer you will be.
The Arid Scablands can be a tricky place to be when the weather gets bad. Cold winds, low temperatures and steep cliffs and ledges can become hard to navigate at night. In other areas that have an abundance of resources building a shelter can be pretty simple, and there are many videos of building bamboo huts, stick lean-to's shelters, fern and bark huts. We have to be a little creative out here having almost none of those building materials, even firewood is scarce.

Fatwood the BEST Firestarter
Fatwood is the best firestarter to have in poor conditions. If it sinks it will burn. This stuff is nearly impervious to wet weather, snow, rain doesn't matter. The best part? Its free, all natural and stable to carry. Even if it can not be found in your area naturally, many lumber stores have it, and even used shipping pallets can have some as it is a lower grade lumber.

KaBar Knives Folding Saw Review. Not Great.
Spent some time with the New Camp Tool offered by KaBar , here are my thoughts.
The saw is Comfortable in the hand with a solid feel and rubberized grip. The rubber coating keeps the handle from slipping in wet weather. The blade locks in the open and closed position, a great feature to keep your gear and hands safe from the teeth if you store it in a pack.
The saw weight is quite heavy for is somewhat short cutting length, and the blade is of quite poor quality compared to the handle. I found it struggling to cut through stuff lower priced, lighter saws handled with ease.
This is not a horrible saw, but for the price it just doesn't cut it. This is priced above or equal to the best in class saws of this size and I see no reason to purchase this over any of the competition. Even the $12 hardware store saw I have has a better blade and weighs much less. Kabar needs to step up the quality and maximize the actual cut length on the blade to compete at this price point.
