Watch three residents of the International Space Station relocate the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft to a new docking port, making room for the future arrival of a Progress cargo resupply ship. Aboard are:
• Flight engineer Frank Rubio of NASA
• Flight engineers Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin of Roscosmos
Soyuz commander Prokopyev will manually pilot the spacecraft away from the space-facing Poisk module at 4:45 a.m. EDT (08:45 UTC), and dock again at the Earth-facing Prichal module at approximately 5:23 a.m. EDT (09:23 UTC). Petelin will be seated to his left and Rubio will be seated to his right.

On Dec. 5, NASA will air the lunar flyby of the Orion spacecraft on its return trek toward Earth. Orion completed a burn Dec. 1 to exit a lunar orbit thousands of miles beyond the Moon, where engineers have been testing systems to improve understanding of the spacecraft before future missions with astronauts. The return powered flyby burn, in which the spacecraft will harness the Moon’s gravity and accelerate back toward Earth, is expected at 11:43 a.m. (1643 UTC) The spacecraft is expected to fly about 79 miles above the lunar surface at 11:42 a.m. (16:42 UTC) just before the burn.
Orion launched aboard the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket at 1:47 am EST (0647 UTC) on Nov. 16 from historic Launch Complex 39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Orion entered a distant retrograde orbit on at 4:52 p.m. EST (2152 UTC) on Nov. 25, where the spacecraft has been testing systems in a deep space environment.
The Artemis I mission is the first integrated test of NASA’s deep space exploration systems: the Orion spacecraft, the SLS rocket, and Kennedy Space Center ground systems.

Watch live with us as a crew of four launch on NASA's SpaceX #Crew7 mission to the International Space Station. Liftoff is targeted at 3:27 a.m. EDT (0727 UTC), Sat., Aug. 26.
Commander Jasmin Moghbeli of NASA, pilot Andreas Mogensen of the European Space Agency, and mission specialists Satoshi Furukawa of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Konstantin Borisov of Roscosmos will launch on their SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, powered by a Falcon 9 rocket, from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Visit our Crew-7 blog for the latest mission news: https://blogs.nasa.gov/crew-7
Over 200 science experiments and technology demonstrations will take place during Crew-7's mission of approximately six months in space. Experiments will include the collection of microbial samples from the exterior of the space station, the first study of human response to different spaceflight durations, and an investigation of the physiological aspects of astronauts' sleep. Where Are the Moon Rocks? We Asked a NASA Expert
Where are the Moon rocks from the Apollo missions kept? When they’re not being studied by institutions or enjoyed by museumgoers, NASA has a specialized Lunar Sample Curation Laboratory at NASA’s Johnson Space Center to store and keep these otherworldly samples safe. Studying these samples helps us learn more about the origin of not only our moon, but our planet. Deputy Apollo Sample Curator (Sept 2019 – Dec 2022) Dr. Juliane Gross explains more about lunar sample curation.
