Blueroom - The Bed
++++++++++++++++++THERE IS MORE BLUEROOM COMINGPLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THIS LOST BAND FROM THE EARLY 2000sLIKE SHARE AND SUBSCRIBE!+++++++++++++++++Blueroom were a band formed in Shropshire in the early 2000s. We made two albums - the Noise EP (2004) and Red Mission Void (2005).
The Bed is a track from Red Mission Void, the second release from Blueroom and first full length LP recorded in 2005.
The album tells the story of a trip we took to Scotland, driving up from Shropshire in the middle of the night, then finding somewhere to camp. The plan was to climb Ben Nevis. We found a spot near the West Highland way just outside Fort William made a bed out of trees to put our tent on.
We camped beside a river where we washed, drank, swam and cooked. We explored the vast bogs and moorland beside us. And on day three we climbed Ben Nevis, most of us with no supplies, food, equipment or water.
The bed is a short punky track documenting how we made a large "bed" of tree trunks, heather and colossal balls of moss ("Top trump clumps") on which to pitch our tent, making it comfortable. In truth it had some very uncomfortable patches, I slept with a sharp tree branch poking into me.
Blueroom on Red Mission Void:
Alan Chaplin - Vocals
Patrick Gough - Bass, Guitar, Vocals, Tin Whistle
Alan Goulbourne - Guitar
Adam Gregory - Guitar, Synth guitar, Vocals
Sam Wainwright - Drums

"From The Rocks is the climb up Ben Nevis from Gregory's perspective. He and Goulbourne were left at the back as we went up. It was a hard journey, even resorting to eating snow at one point as they had no water. Other walkers asked to check if they were ok. The vocal performance here is by the one and only Adam Gregory"
The band are very fond of this track, so it deserved a video.

Blueroom - The Pacing Bear
Blueroom were a band formed in Shropshire in the early 2000s. We made two albums - the Noise EP (2004) and Red Mission Void (2005).
The pacing bear is a track from Red Mission Void, the second release from Blueroom and first full length LP recorded in 2005.
The album tells the story of a trip we took to Scotland, driving up from Shropshire in the middle of the night, then finding somewhere to camp. The plan was to climb Ben Nevis. We found a spot near the West Highland way just outside Fort William made a bed out of trees to put our tent on.

"The Pacing Bear is the story of my perspective of the journey up Ben Nevis. It was snowy at the top of Nevis and a complete whiteout, I ended up on my own. It was truly disconcerting, being completely alone and surrounded by nothing but freezing cold whitness. I kept going up the hill. As I continued, I eventually saw something black in the distance so I thought I should head towards it. As I continued the black thing grew and grew, it was very confusing. Eventually the black thing filled my entire field of vision until it was all I could see, and I had absolutely no idea what I was looking at. I then realised, I could make out little bits of snow in the blackness - I was looking at the other side of a cliff, having nearly just walked off it. I don't know how far I was from the edge, I could have been 2 metres, or 20, or 100. Either way, I didn't fall down and become a statistic. The top of the hill was then not far and I found the others there."
The band are very fond of this track, so it deserved a video.

The Kentucky Fried Stooges - Jam 2 27th December 2023
A thrilling mish mash of cake, not to mention a steak beak wake and bake. Super spicy chicken! I should have got spicy rice.
This manifesto was recorded poorly, hence the lack of ability to manipulate anyone with it.
Any offensive images were drawn by us as teenagers and as such were intended for pure insanity and hilarity.
Duffbaland Paddy the Chuff Daddy commands the troubadours with aplombe bestowing presets and line level inputs to them droogs like they're flippin' candy molokos. Hankering after an AKG C400000001 helps him get through some constipated guitar solos, its a digi-analogue bonanza in this neck of the tonewood.
P.I. Gemini II KneeKapZ - he cheezes and pleazes with his bap de la bop bebop skills, trashing out house anthem piano loops and Major 7s on almost everything, no line cliches here - he'll spit out some phat thumping BeatboX first - he is literally pumping the groove out of the ground, figuratively.
The artiste formally known as GNERM, a midi based Cyborg wields the power of A.I. decision making, his quantum computing components allow for an elegant Digi Noise choir to meld everything under a firmament of flat earth glissandi, seeking transhumanism in the palm guitar, or how about the ionosphere?
Stezuley Von Blagapus, fresh as a burlap rose from the world's largest exporter of flowers DADGADs and CGDABBs his way through a slew of stringed items all combined purchased for a slick £878. Set the tape deck to burned out SEAT Ibiza in a murky wood and slide those heels down the croquet square - and the dance floor!

Classic Oswestry Gig - Inzaghi, Blueroom and Sweetleaf May 2004 at The Ex-Servicemen's club
Whilst going through some old stuff I found this cassette tape of a gig that we did in May of 2004 at The Ex-Servicemen's club in Oswestry, Shropshire. It was our first public gig having played only at a gathering -"Gavstock" a couple of months previous. We were invited by Luke Turner of Inzaghi who's uncle Bill owned the club.
Inzaghi were a funky grungy band, here they play covers of The Pixies - Where is My Mind and Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix, there is also an acoustic performance from Luke Turner of Inzaghi at the end of the cassette playing and singing The Spider and The Fly by the Rolling stones, after the gig.
Sweet Leaf were a punk band fronted by Ben Mullhall, I don't know if the songs here are covers or originals. I remember they did one called "If I were you I'd Kill myself" but it isn't on this cassette
Blueroom were a band formed in Shropshire in the early 2000s. We made two albums - the Noise EP (2004) and Red Mission Void (2005). We could be descired as indie, grunge, heavy metal and prog.
I've digitised the cassette tape and here is the result. A classic Oswestry gig from a time when the scene was really good and there were plenty of young bands around - we didn't have smart phones so we entertained ourselves by being in a band.
One of our friends believes he might have footage of this gig or another similar gig, fingers crossed.

This year is the 20th Anniversary of the Noise EP, so to celebrate the fact that Blueroom went nowhere, but certainly probably should have, we've put together a couple of music videos for songs from the Noise EP. Perhaps Blueroom can find a new audience, or in the very least our friends can enjoy the memories with us.
