In order to break out of passivity, you need to P.U.S.H. or persevere until something happens or, in Christian circles, pray until something happens.

Recovery requires openness and honesty. You must embrace all that you were and realize that others accept your in spite of what you have done. Whenever you get to a point where you are afraid to tell someone about what you have done, you have attached shame back onto yourself. Isolation and passivity has driven off friends and prevented us from making friends. Now that you are on the journey towards freedom you need to overcome fear and reach out to others.
