My Wife and I had a blast, catching BIG Smallmouth bass in the rain, underneath The Longest Covered Bridge in the world! It also so happened to be our Anniversary too! Some of my best fishing has been in the rain, so don't be scared to get a little wet, the BIGGS could be out to play! I went fishing with my wife to what we call, the power station, which generates electricity for the area. We brought different styles,shapes and sizes of lures and some worms as well for bait. We also noticed there were some minnows, swimming around near shore, so I decided to put on an old Rapala, that was silver and blue and tossed it out in the turbulent waters and let it swing into a seam of slower water. It wasn't long before I started to hook into some Smallies! This BIG one came out to play and hit aggressively and fought hard in the strong current. I had just caught this Rainbow Trout and let it go. It was recovering from being caught and taking a breather, so I thought it would be cool to get some underwater video of it...I actually had no idea that the Smallmouth bass was even there! I decided to do a weird bait challenge, using Udan noodles and then put Procure, a bait cure powder, usually used for curing salmon or trout eggs on the noodles. It made the noodles pink and gave them some scent as well. I decided to test them out at a pond I found, here in PEI and managed to catch some beautiful Brook Trout! Would you try this? I've never hooked into a Steelhead in this run before and had fished this spots many times over the years but have always come out empty handed for some reason. This time I did a couple drifts and on the second, float went down so I pulled back to set the hook. Was it a snag? Did I get hung up on bottom, or was it a fish? I wasn't sure, so I did a follow up drift. The float sank, I set the hook and connected with this Steelhead! My Wife and I were having fun, Carp fishing When I hooked into a Big Carp. My Wife decided to reel in here line, so my fish wouldn't get caught in hers, when all of a sudden a rainbow trout bit on her line! I was surprised since the Rainbow's don't normally stick around that late in the season(July) so it was a surprise catch. All was going well until... My fish got caught in some logs and I dropped my Wife's Rainbow, which kicked the tripod the camera was on and it almost fell in the water!
