➡️ How to get to Tioman from Kuala Lumpur?
The main way to get to Tioman is by road (bus or drive) and then take a ferry to the island. There are 2 jetties which you can take the ferry from Tanjung Gemok Jetty or Mersing Jetty
🔹 On the Road
#1 Taking the bus: One-way tickets cost around RM 35-40 from TBS.
#2 Drive: If you're planning to drive, there are open-air long term car parks at the jetties charged based on daily rates.

The journey to the island would take about 2 - 2.5 hours, and there will be 5 stops on Tioman Island:
1. Genting
2. Paya
3. Tekek
4. Air Batang (ABC)
5. Salang
*Be sure to get off at the correct jetty because otherwise, you might have to hire a sea taxi to get to the correct one.
➡️ Where to stay?
The west coast in Pulau Tioman is where most kampungs are located. Kampung Tekek is the main administrative center of Tioman, where you can find an ATM machine, Post office, School, Hospital, and a duty-free shop here. Surrounding it is a few more Kampung.
The northern part is closer to most of the dive sites and coral reefs.
Whereas the southern part has most of the bigger resorts and even an 18-hole golf course.
On the east side is Juara which is said to have the quietest beach in all of Tioman, which is also possible to go surfing here during the monsoon season.

Overall, there is a wide range of accommodations available in Pulau Tioman; you can find anything from budget homestays, dorms to mid-range resorts, chalets, and 5-star luxury resorts.
➡️ Getting around
Apart from Kampung Tekek, the other kampungs don't have big roads or cars. Locals usually get around on motorbikes.
Bicycle Rental - Available in most parts of Tioman. The rental rates go by the hour or even for the whole day.
Sea Taxis - Speed Boats that can take you anywhere around the island. Fees are charged around RM25-120 (USD 6-29) per person - depending on the distance.
On Foot - Most of the villages are connected by a path and it’s possible to walk from one village to another.

#1 Seasons
The best time to visit Tioman is between March and October (Hot Season).
Off-Season: Mid November - February
#2 Stay Duration: At least 3D2N to slowly enjoy the laid back island life.
#3 Hiking in Tioman: Trekking through these trails takes you to some interesting spots like quiet beaches and waterfalls. Follow the powerlines and bring mosquito repellants!
#4 Booking a tour: You could also book a day trip through a tour agent who can offer you a variety of different packages.
#5 Travel Packages: There are many travel packages being offered online by the resorts in Tioman.
These packages may include accommodation, activities, ferry tickets, and sometimes even food.
