Club partnerships
FC Barcelona
A renewed agreement between Konami and FC Barcelona was announced, demonstrating a continued relationship with the Catalan club. Together with this announcement, it was also confirmed that a special Barcelona edition will be released.[6]
Manchester United
Manchester United and Konami announced an agreement which would see the club, its stadiums and players recreated within the game. The current squad have also been created using a full-body 3D scanning process, providing players of the game with ultra-realistic avatars.[7] With an exciting atmosphere of the Old Trafford.
Bayern Munich
After the announcement of the demo—which came out on 30 July 2019,[8] FC Bayern Munich was announced as an official partner club.[9] Players will have the full experience with authentic kits, full 3D scanned players and, exclusively, Bayern's home ground, Allianz Arena.
Juventus
Juventus returned from PES 2020. They signed an exclusive partnership with the game, which will see it includes the club kits, player names and stadium with realistic likeness in-game and also making it the first time in 25 years that the FIFA series will not hold the license for the club. As a result, the club was known in FIFA 20 as "Piemonte Calcio". [10]
Arsenal
On 28 June 2019, Arsenal announced a 3-year extension to their partnership with Konami, which would see a highly detailed recreation of Emirates Stadium, as well as access to club legends and first-team players.[11]
AS Monaco
In July 2018, AS Monaco partnered with Konami for PES 2019. They renewed this agreement in 2020, which includes all access to real players and their stadium. The French version of the game also features Radamel Falcao and Philippe Coutinho.[12]
Celtic
Celtic first appeared as a licensed club in PES 2019 and have renewed their contract with Konami for the 2021 Season Update. This means players will have full access to their kits, emblem, players, and stadium.[13]
Game modes
Included for the first time in the PES series, there is a new game mode called Matchday Mode. Players around the world will help their team to glory one match at a time in the new Matchday mode. Konami will choose an important match or derby game each week, players will then be able to decide which team they want to represent on Matchday.[14]

FIFA 14 is a football simulation video game developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts worldwide under the EA Sports label. It was released in September 2013 for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Microsoft Windows.[1] It was released as a freemium, under the title FIFA 14 Mobile, for iOS and Android on 23 September 2013[2] and for Windows Phone 8 on 28 February 2014,[3] although much of the game is inaccessible without an in-app payment. It was a launch title for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2013.[4][5] The PlayStation 2 version was only released in PAL territories and Spanish-speaking markets,[6] and was the last game released for the system in the Americas. The PlayStation Portable version was only released as a digital download in North America.[7]
The game received primarily positive reviews across all systems.
Features
Ignite Engine
A match between Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and Bayern München in FIFA 14
PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game feature a new game engine called the Ignite Engine. This features both graphical and gameplay advances on the previous game engine used by the FIFA series, the Impact Engine (which is used for the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game[8]). Improvements include advanced AI to make players react more like real human beings (such as becoming anxious towards the end of a game when their team needs to score), "True Player Motion" to create more realistic movement from the that the PC version of the game would also feature the Ignite Engine, but in May 2013, EA Sports confirmed this would not be the case.[10]
Licenses
The game features 33 fully licensed leagues, comprising over 600 clubs with over 16,000 players, as well as 47 fully licensed international teams and a legends team.[11] Included for the first time are three of the top leagues in South America: the Argentine Primera División, the Chilean Primera División and the Colombian Categoría Primera A.
Ultimate Team
FIFA Ultimate team (FUT), which was introduced in FIFA 09 returns in FIFA 14. The game mode allows players to build their own team from real-world players and staff, which they can then use to compete in both online and offline tournaments and divisions. FUT also allows for a "single online match", where players can play a single match against another player that does not contribute to tournaments or seasons.
Stadiums
The game contains over 69 stadiums, including 32 real-world venues. New additions to FIFA 14 include La Bombonera (home stadium of Boca Juniors), Goodison Park (home stadium of Everton),[16] and the Donbass Arena (home stadium of Shakhtar Donetsk). The Camp Nou (home stadium of Barcelona), which was removed from FIFA 13 due to licensing issues, has returned.[17]
Goal celebrations
The game features new signature goal celebrations from a number of players including Cristiano Ronaldo's 'Calm down', Gareth Bale's '11 of Hearts', Lionel Messi's 'Point to the Sky', Daniel Sturridge's 'Riding the Wave', among others.[18][19][20]
Release
A demo of the game was released worldwide on 10 September 2013 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows. Teams included in the demo are PSG, Barcelona, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, A.C. Milan, Borussia Dortmund, New York Red Bulls and Boca Juniors.[21]
The Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita versions are branded as FIFA 14: Legacy Edition, and retain features and gameplay from previous respective releases in the FIFA series, with only their kits, soundtrack and team squads updated.[22] The PlayStation 2 version was not released in the United States,[23] and was only available in Mexico,[24] South America, Europe and Australasia.[23]
The Android and iOS versions were released on 21 September 2013. They were the first FIFA games to be released under the free-to-play pricing model.
FIFA 14 was one of the extremely rare games to be released on three successive generations of a manufacturer's consoles nearly simultaneously, namely the PlayStation 2, 3, and 4.
Covers
Lionel Messi returns as the main cover star for all regions on the global cover, having also been on the cover of FIFA 13 and FIFA Street.[25] The United States has both the global cover, and a Javier Hernández cover.[26] It is the first title in the series since FIFA 2001 that the FIFA Soccer moniker was not used in North America.[26]
Gareth Bale originally featured on the UK and Irish cover in the colours of his former club Tottenham Hotspur,[27] but EA Sports later updated the cover to feature Bale in a Real Madrid kit, due to his transfer to the Spanish club.[28]

EA Sports FC 24 is an upcoming football video game, developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and published by EA Sports serving as the inaugural installment in the EA Sports FC series following the conclusion of EA's partnership with FIFA, and the 31st overall installment,
The cover for the Standard Edition of the game features Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. The cover for Ultimate Edition of the game features 31 iconic former and current players from around the world.[5] Among these notable figures are Vinícius Júnior, Sam Kerr, Marta, Ronaldinho, Marquinhos, Virgil van Dijk, Son Heung-min, Erling Haaland, Marcus Rashford, Johan Cruyff, Jude Bellingham, Alexander Isak, Zinedine Zidane, Pelé, Andrea Pirlo, and David Beckham.
The Nintendo Switch version of the game runs on the Frostbite game engine for the first time, providing similar gameplay to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Switch entries since FIFA 20 had been widely criticised for being released as Legacy Editions; versions of the game where kits, rosters, and stadiums were updated from the previous release, but added no new gameplay features. EA Sports FC 24 introduces a full Ultimate Team experience and VOLTA Football to the Switch. Despite this, it does not support cross-platform play with either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
HyperMotion V
EA Sports FC 24 features "HyperMotion V" technology, which uses volumetric data captured by cameras around stadiums from over 180 top-tier matches including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Women's Champions League, Premier League, and La Liga.
AcceleRATE 2.0
The AcceleRATE 2.0 system divides player movement into seven different archetypes, more than double the amount featured in FIFA 23. The three base Acceleration Types featured are "Controlled", "Explosive", and "Lengthy".
PlayStyles
Edit
Optimised by Opta Sports, EA Sports FC 24 introduces PlayStyles, which represent players' on-pitch abilities in-game and give players unique capabilities. PlayStyles+ allows the game to reflect elite players' abilities and are an enhanced version of typical PlayStyles. PlayStyles fall under six categories: scoring, passing, ball control, defending, physical, and goalkeeper (limited to the Be a Goalkeeper modes in Player Career and Clubs).
Ultimate Team
Clubs and VOLTA Football
Edit
The combined Clubs and VOLTA Football mode introduces cross-platform play between users on same-generation consoles, expanding cross-play into all of the game's online multiplayer modes. Users can cross-play between PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Windows, while users on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can cross-play with each other.

FIFA 19 is a football simulation video game developed by EA Vancouver and released by Electronic Arts on 28 September 2018 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.[2] It is the 26th installment in the FIFA series.
As with FIFA 18, Cristiano Ronaldo featured as the cover athlete of the regular edition: however, following his unanticipated transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus, new cover art was released. He also appeared with Neymar in the cover of the Champions edition.[3] From February 2019, an updated version featured Neymar, Kevin De Bruyne and Paulo Dybala on the cover of the regular edition.
The game features the UEFA club competitions for the first time, including the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup as well.[3] Martin Tyler and Alan Smith return as regular commentators, while the new commentary team of Derek Rae and Lee Dixon feature in the UEFA competitions mode.[3] Composer Hans Zimmer and rapper Vince Staples recorded a new remix of the UEFA Champions League anthem specifically for the game.[4]
The character Alex Hunter, who first appeared in FIFA 17, returns for the third and final installment of "The Journey", entitled, "The Journey: Champions".[3] In June 2019, a free update added the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup Final to kick-off mode.[5] It is the last FIFA game to be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and the last known game to be physically available for the PlayStation 3 worldwide.
Gameplay
Gameplay changes on FIFA 19 include the new "Active Touch System"— an overhaul of player control, "timed finishing"— where the kick button may be pressed a second time to determine the exact moment the ball is actually kicked,[6] "50/50 battles"— a system for determining how likely a player will win loose balls, and "Dynamic Tactics"— which allows players to configure strategies, and switch between them in real-time during a match.
FIFA 19 introduces the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup competitions to the game, after their licenses with Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer expired. The game will have support for promotion and relegation between the Champions League and Europa League.[7] Martin Tyler and Alan Smith return as regular commentators with Derek Rae and Lee Dixon as Champions League commentators. Geoff Shreeves also returns as the touchline reporter as well as Alan McInally providing updates from around the league. New graphics and stadiums have been implemented.[3]
Composer Hans Zimmer and rapper Vince Staples recorded a new remix of the UEFA Champions League anthem for FIFA 19. It can also be heard in the game's reveal trailer.[4]
The Nintendo Switch port will receive upgrades over FIFA 18. On 9 June 2018, EA Sports uploaded an official reveal trailer on their YouTube channel. Cristiano Ronaldo returned as the global cover star for a second consecutive time. He and Neymar appear on the Champions and Ultimate Edition packs.[3] However, Ronaldo was taken off the cover in February. Now, it features Neymar, Kevin De Bruyne and Paulo Dybala on the cover. It includes 55 national teams with 35 licensed leagues.[7]
It was confirmed that the game would have a licensed Serie A after being called "Calcio A" (due to licensing issues) in FIFA 17 and FIFA 18.[8] The game will include the Chinese Super League, the first FIFA title to do so.[9][10][11] However, it was confirmed that the game will not include the Russian Premier League, as it did in FIFA 18 and previous FIFAs.[12] Russian Premier League teams CSKA Moscow, Spartak Moscow, and Lokomotiv Moscow were kept, while Dinamo Zagreb, Dynamo Kyiv, Slavia Praha, and Viktoria Plzen were added to the game. Boca Juniors appears as Buenos Aires FC in the game since the club signed a deal with Konami;[13] for the same reasons, Colo-Colo appears as CD Viñazur. Once again, due to Konami securing deals with certain Brazilian clubs, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A is featured in an incomplete form, this time with only 15 clubs, with the notable omissions of São Paulo, Palmeiras, Corinthians, Flamengo and Vasco da Gama, all of which are Konami partners. The remaining Brazilian clubs, while appearing with licensed branding, do not have any of their players licensed due to an ongoing judicial dispute over image rights, which are negotiated individually with each player, unlike other countries.
As with every FIFA game, there are new skills included, with Andrés Iniesta's signature move, La Croqueta and Watford legend Luther Blissett's famous skill the Emery Spin, featuring in FIFA 19.[8] 25 new icons have been added to the Ultimate Team in FIFA 19, including Rivaldo, Roberto Baggio, Johan Cruyff, George Best, Luís Figo, Steven Gerrard, Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs, Bobby Moore, Franco Baresi,

FIFA 18 is a football simulation video game developed and published by Electronic Arts and released worldwide on 29 September 2017 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It is the 25th installment in the FIFA series. Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, at the time contracted to Real Madrid, appears as the cover athlete of the regular edition, as well as the alternate covers of the Icon and 2018 FIFA World Cup editions of the game.[2]
FIFA 18 featured several gameplay improvements over its predecessor, FIFA 17. The game was introduced by Real Player Motion Technology, which provides more realistic player movements and animations.[3] The PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows and Xbox One versions include a continuation of "The Journey" a story-based mode that was originally in FIFA 17 titled "The Journey: Hunter Returns", which continues the story of fictional footballer Alex Hunter as he seeks to make a name for himself in the football world. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, marketed as FIFA 18: Legacy Edition, were not built on the Frostbite engine and do not contain any new gameplay features, and are hence identical to the previous release aside from updated kits and squads.[4] FIFA 18 also includes the standard modes from previous FIFA games, including Career mode, Ultimate Team, and Online Seasons.
FIFA 18 received positive reviews upon release.[5] Critics praised the improvements made to the gameplay, including the introduction of Real Player Motion Technology and the overhaul of the dribbling and crossing mechanics. The game's presentation, including its graphics and sound design, were also praised.
Gameplay
FIFA 18 is a sports game that simulates association football. The game features 52 fully licensed stadiums from 12 countries, including new stadiums, plus 30 generic fields for a total of 82. All 20 Premier League stadia are represented in the series.[8] Commentary is once again provided by Martin Tyler and Alan Smith with Alan McInally (in-game score updates), Geoff Shreeves (injury reports) and Mike West (classified results). ` FIFA 18 Ultimate Team Icons, the new version of what has previously been called Legends is playable on the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game, as Legends were exclusive to Xbox One.[9][10] Diego Maradona was added as a legend to the Ultimate Team, joining Brazilian stars Pelé and Ronaldo, Russian goalkeeper Lev Yashin, and French star Thierry Henry for the 95-rated card.[11] New goal celebrations featured include Cristiano Ronaldo's "Siii" jump (accompanied with a voiceover from Ronaldo), Wayne Rooney's "Knockout", Samuel Eto'o's "Old Man" routine, Robert Lewandowski's "X", and Raúl kissing his ring finger.[12] The Cruyff turn – a feint named after 1970s Dutch star Johan Cruyff – is one of the four new skills added to the game.[13]
EA Sports have introduced Quick Subs into FIFA 18 where the player can make a substitute when the ball goes out of play. Also now in Career Mode players can watch interactive transfer negotiations happen and can also see their new signings unveiled in cut scenes.[17]
The Journey: Hunter Returns
The story-based Journey mode that was introduced in FIFA 17 returns in this instalment and continues the narrative under the title "The Journey: Hunter Returns".[18][19 As for those starting fresh,year-old main character from Clapham, London, returns and is fully customisable.[citation needed] Players can unlock items which include new clothes and hairstyles for Hunter. While FIFA 17 locked Hunter to the English Premier League and Championship, in FIFA 18 players can now experience new locations, such as Brazil and the United States.[19][20] The trailer released for this game mode also shows numerous widely known football players making an appearance such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann, Dele Alli, Thomas Müller, Gyasi Zardes, Rio Ferdinand and Thierry Henry.[21] NBA player James Harden is also featured in the trailer and on the video game itself. Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe also make cameo appearances. The story mode also has new playable characters, such as Danny Williams, who is Alex Hunter's best friend, and also featuring a character new to the series, Alex Hunter's half-sister, Kim Hunter.

FIFA 21 is an association football simulation video game published by Electronic Arts as part of the FIFA series.[1] It is the 28th installment in the FIFA series, and was released on 9 October 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Enhanced versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S were released on 3 December 2020, in addition to a version for Stadia in March 2021.
Features
Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team features 100 icon players, including 11 new names: Eric Cantona, Petr Čech, Ashley Cole, Samuel Eto'o, Philipp Lahm, Ferenc Puskás, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Davor Šuker, Fernando Torres, Nemanja Vidić, and Xavi all feature as icons for the first time.[2][3] Jens Lehmann was not featured as an icon in FUT 21 compared to previous games.
Ultimate Team sees the addition of a co-op gameplay feature in the form of Division Rivals, Squad Battles and Friendlies with a friend online to unlock objectives and rewards. FUT was surrounded by controversy due to it being classified as a loot box and a source of online gambling. In January 2019, EA agreed to stop selling FIFA points in Belgium, following government pressure.[4] Petitions to ban the points elsewhere began in June 2020, with the points' legality being debated in the US and UK, the latter via the UK's Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.[5] Similarly, a Dutch judge decided that EA should be fined €0.5 million per week until the loot boxes were removed.[6] The players can customize their own FUT stadium with tifos, pyrotechnics, trophies, music, statues and stands as their FUT club grows. In-game stats can now be upgraded individually for special cards (the example given is the community - mainly to the manager mode.[9][10] New additions include; a revamped interactive match simulation mode, which allows players to instantly jump in and out of matches in addition to changing game plans in real time. A new and improved training system which allows for weekly training schedules and the ability to train players to play in different positions, new stats such as match fitness and growth, an improved youth academy system, more transfer options such as loan to buy deals, and enhanced opposition AI.[9]
VOLTA Football 21
Volta Football was introduced in FIFA 20, and returns in FIFA 21. According to producers, Volta 21 has gameplay improvements and introduces new playing modes such as The Debut, the sequel to last year's story mode, featuring Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, Kaká and Frank Lampard. Volta Football also features Volta Squads, an online mode where people can play with friends, and Feature Battles mode. There are also five new locations (Dubai, Milan, Paris, São Paulo and Sydney) with the addition of the VOLTA Stadium.[11][12]
The story of Volta 21 is the continuation of the story of Revvy as he continues his career journey as a street footballer, taking part in a tournament in São Paulo hosted by Kaká. After Revvy's team win, Kaká invites Revvy's teammate Kotaro Tokuda to a tournament in Dubai as his team's captain. Revvy and his teammates are jealous, but Beatriz Villanova – Alex Hunter's agent – has set up a series of matches against the teams in the tournament around the World in the hopes that beating them would secure Revvy's team a place in the tournament, at the expense of one of the other teams with the agreement being Revvy will have to pay her back if his team make it to Dubai. After winning their matches in Paris, Sydney, and Milan, Revvy's team are invited to the tournament. Upon arrival, Beatriz informs the team that the teams would be managed by legendary former footballers – those Managers being Zidane, Henry, Kaká, and Lampard. Revvy chooses Henry as his team's Manager. The team go on to win the tournament, defeating Kaká's team in the final. Revvy's team then plays an exhibition match against a team consisting of the legendary players.
Licenses
The game features more than 30 official leagues, over 700 clubs, and over 17,000 players.[13] In August 2020, EA Sports announced an exclusive multi-year partnership with Milan and Inter Milan.[14]
Juventus, Roma, River Plate, Boca Juniors and Corinthians are not featured in FIFA 21 and instead are known as Piemonte Calcio, Roma FC, Nuñez, Buenos Aires and Oceânico FC respectively. The game retains the players' likenesses (except for Oceânico FC), but the official badge, kits and stadiums are unavailable and instead feature custom designs and generic stadiums produced by EA Sports. Bayern Munich is also featured in the game with licensed players and kits but do not have their stadium licence and play in a generic stadium.[15] The Finland national football team is fully licensed for the first time.

FIFA is a discontinued football video game franchise developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and published by EA Sports. As of 2011, the FIFA franchise has been localized into 18 languages and available in 51 countries. Listed in Guinness World Records as the best-selling sports video game franchise in the world, the FIFA series has sold over 325 million copies as of 2021.[5] On 10 May 2022, it was announced that EA and FIFA's partnership of 30 years would come to an end upon the termination of their licensing agreement, making FIFA 23 the last entry to the franchise under the FIFA name. As a successor to the FIFA series, EA launched the EA Sports FC franchise, with EA Sports FC 24 being the first installment under the new name.[6]
FIFA 12 holds the record for the "fastest selling sports game ever" with over 3.2 million games sold and over $186 million generated at retail in its first week of release.[10] The franchise's latest release, FIFA 23, was released worldwide on 27 September 2022. It is available for multiple gaming systems, including the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S and Stadia.

While FIFA 95 did not add much other than the ability to play with club teams, FIFA 96 pushed the boundaries. For the first time with real player names by obtaining the FIFPro license, the PlayStation, PC, 32X and Sega Saturn versions used EA's "Virtual Stadium" engine, with 2D sprite players moving around a real-time 3D stadium. FIFA 97 improved on this with polygonal models for players and added an indoor soccer mode, but an early pinnacle was reached with FIFA: Road to World Cup 98. This version featured much improved graphics, a complete World Cup with qualifying rounds (including all national teams) and refined gameplay. Months later, World Cup 98 was EA's first officially licensed tournament game.
John Motson was the first commentator for the FIFA series, and has worked alongside Ally McCoist, Andy Gray, Des Lynam, Mark Lawrenson and Chris Waddle. Motson first joined the franchise for FIFA 96; he and McCoist were replaced by Gray and Clive Tyldesley for FIFA 06 but later returned for FIFA Manager 08. Martin Tyler was the default commentator for the FIFA series from 2006 to 2020, alongside Andy Gray between 2006 and 2010 and Alan Smith from 2011 to 2020.[11] Derek Rae and Lee Dixon appear in FIFA 19 as commentators for UEFA competitions, and alternate with Tyler and Smith in all competitions in FIFA 20. Rae and Dixon became the sole English-language commentators in FIFA 21, replacing Tyler and Smith. In FIFA 22 and FIFA 23, Stewart Robson serves as Derek Rae's co-commentator, replacing Dixon. Guy Mowbray and Sue Smith were introduced as a new commentary duo in EA Sports FC 24, alternating with Derek Rae and Stewart Robson.
FIFA games have been met with some minor criticism; such as improvements each game features over its predecessor. As the console market expanded, FIFA was challenged directly by other titles, most notably Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) series.[12] The rivalry between both franchises since the 1990s has been considered the "greatest rivalry" in the history of sports video games. While FIFA initially had a more "arcade-style" approach, PES was more of a football simulation video game series with "faster-paced tactical play" and more varied emergent gameplay, which led to PES rivaling FIFA in sales during the 2000s. EA responded by borrowing gameplay elements from PES in order to improve FIFA, which led to FIFA pulling ahead commercially by a significant margin in the early 2010s.[13][14] Both FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer have a large following, but FIFA sales were rising by as much as 23 percent year-on-year in the early 2010s.[10]

National teams
There are 46 international teams on FIFA 13 as confirmed on the EA website. The Czech Republic and Paraguay are returning. India, Bolivia and Venezuela return to the main series after an 11-year hiatus since FIFA Football 2002. Croatia was removed from the international teams, as they could not reach the licensing agreement.[11]
Ultimate Team
FIFA Ultimate team, commonly abbreviated to 'FUT', is an additional feature of FIFA 13. This game mode allows the player to build their own team from real world players, which they can then use to compete in tournaments and divisions over the internet. For each game completed, players earn coins to spend on improving their team.

The FIFA Ultimate team web app was released on 18 September 2012, allowing players to access their ultimate team from their computer and a variety of other devices, such as an iPhone app and on Android.
Stadiums
There are 26 stadiums in FIFA 13, including two new real ones: Tottenham Hotspur's White Hart Lane and the Saudi Arabia's King Fahd International Stadium. FC Barcelona's Camp Nou, present in previous editions of the game, does not appear in FIFA 13, as EA could not reach a licensing agreement with the club.[12] Because of this, a generic stadium called El Libertador, is used.
EA Sports also offered a downloadable cover for FIFA 13 for Major League Soccer, featuring Chris Wondolowski of the San Jose Earthquakes, Fredy Montero of Seattle Sounders FC, Tim Cahill of the New York Red Bulls, and Darren Mattocks of Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Wondolowski, Montero, and Cahill were elected by vote on EA Sports' website, while Mattocks was included for being named Best Player Under 24 in MLS by MLS. EA Sports also offered downloadable covers for each MLS team with a player from that club being featured. The teams and players were:
Wii and PlayStation Vita versions
The Wii and PlayStation Vita versions of FIFA 13 are recycled previous year titles rather than brand new, ground-up developments. Media outlet Nintendo Gamer pointed out using various comparison screenshots that FIFA 13 on Wii is actually the Wii version of FIFA 12 with some minor updates to club kits, listings and graphics textures, whilst menu designs and game mechanics are mostly identical.[16] IGN also pointed out that Electronic Arts treated the PlayStation Vita version of FIFA 13 in a similar manner, calling it a "cynically re-skinned" version of the console's previous title FIFA Football (FIFA Soccer in North America; which is actually the title of FIFA 12 on the console). Whilst this version does include some of the new online features found on the PlayStation 3 version, the menus, backgrounds, modes, and most game mechanics are largely identical to the previous title.[17] IGN justifies that the Wii version as a recycled development since the game was released in the console's twilight period,[17] and additionally considering the game is also available on the console's successor, the Wii U, which was confirmed as a completely new development.[18] Additionally, in an intervi

Improvements include advanced AI to make players react more like real human beings (such as becoming anxious towards the end of a game when their team needs to score), "True Player Motion" to create more realistic movement from the players, and more enhanced realism for environmental features such as weather and the crowd, which responds to what is happening on the pitch in a manner similar to a real crowd (such as lamenting a near miss).[9] It was initially thought that the PC version of the game would also feature the Ignite Engine, but in May 2013, EA Sports confirmed this would not be the case.[10]
As players play both online and offline matches, they earn coins to spend on improving their team. Each game earns a certain amount of coins depending on whether the team won, lost or drew. Players and other items are acquired in the form of cards, which are obtained through buying packs or buying directly from other players through the transfer option. There are three different tiers of cards; bronze, silver, and gold, indicating the quality of the players. Packs also come in bronze, silver, and gold. There are also Special Packs, which feature rare cards. Packs can be purchased with coins, which are earned through playing FUT matches, or with FIFA points, which must be purchased with real-world money.[12]
Players can also edit kit numbers and player roles for set pieces and can change the style of play of any given player. FUT seasons have been extended from the five divisions available in FIFA 13 to ten in FIFA 14.[13] The Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of FIFA 14 feature exclusive FUT content called "Legends". When purchasing Gold Packs, players can randomly acquire famous players from the past, such as George Weah, Pelé, Ruud Gullit, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira, Gary Lineker and Freddie Ljungberg.[14][15]

The "Advanced 11v11 Match Capture" data is used to teach EA Sports FC's proprietary machine learning algorithms, resulting in over 11,000 in-game animations compared to over 6,000 in FIFA 23.
AcceleRATE 2.0
The AcceleRATE 2.0 system divides player movement into seven different archetypes, more than double the amount featured in FIFA 23. The three base Acceleration Types featured are "Controlled", "Explosive", and "Lengthy". Most players fall under the "Controlled" type, and accelerate in a uniform and controlled manner. "Explosive" players are shorter and more agile than other players, resulting in a greater initial burst of acceleration after which they slow down. Taller and stronger players are classified as "Lengthy", starting slower but are able to thrive over long distances. EA Sports FC 24 introduces four new types to represent more player movement styles: "Controlled Explosive" (50% Controlled, 50% Explosive), "Mostly Explosive" (70% Explosive, 30% Controlled), "Controlled Lengthy" (50% Controlled, 50% Lengthy), and "Mostly Lengthy" (70% Lengthy, 30% Controlled).[7]
PlayStyles
Edit
Ultimate Team now features Evolutions, allowing users to improve eligible players' skills, PlayStyles, and overall ratings as well as levelling up their Player Item designs and backgrounds.
