Incredible power of Tropical Storm Nate changes Kittiwake wreck forever
The USS Kittiwake is one of the best-known wreck dives in the Caribbean, if not the world. Its convenient location, just off Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman, and shallow depths make it a popular site among scuba divers as well as snorkelers and freedivers. Brent and Elsa pictured in this video traveled to Grand Cayman in 2017 for a dive vacation and enjoyed diving the then upright wreck.
The USS Kittiwake is a Chanticleer-class submarine rescue ship that served as an Auxiliary Submarine Rescue vessel (ASR-13) with the 6th Submarine Squadron. On January 5, 2011 - a decade after the Cayman Island Tourism Association first dreamed of adding a new wreck - the Kittiwake finally sank upright beneath the waves off the coast of Grand Cayman and a new artificial reef was born.
When Tropical Storm Nate hit Grand Cayman October 6,2017, the Kittiwake wreck would be changed forever. On October 9, divers discovered that the wreck had been toppled on its port side. After extensive inspections of near by reefs as well as the integrity of the wreck, it was once again opened to recreational divers. Some may have thought this incident would ruin the artificial reef for divers, but many see it as a completely new wreck.

Adorable Dog Enjoys Fireplace On A Cold Night
On a cold evening in early December Poncho knew just where to go . After being outside exploring her back yard this evening,as she does throughout the day, she was cold. Once inside the comforts of home, and taking a double take at her full food bowl, the glow inside the fireplace seemed to be more alluring than her grumbling belly. Poncho usually never lies in this location unless the fire is on. As you can see, she loves the heat, since she is a rescue from Riviera Maya Mexico i guess that has always been in her blood, not the cold Canadian winters she now gets. After a few minutes she starts to pant from getting extra warm and cozy, until the point she can't take it any more and flops on her side.....lights out!! She only moves from her bed in this location if she gets too over heated, then its to the cooler location of a tile floor, then back.
What a dog, with a great personality. She is loved to pieces.

Incredibly Beautiful Christmas Lighted Truck Parade
Information provided by The Times Colonist : Video recorded by Katherine McMath.
This annual event took place December 2,2017 in Victoria ,British Columbia.
Eighty brightly decorated commercial trucks will take a 35-kilometre cruise from Ogden Point, in Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia Canada, through the streets of the capital region, with the goal of collecting non-perishable food items for local food banks.
It was more than Christmas spirit that motivated Rob Alden to be first in line at Ogden Point for the annual Truck Light Convoy and Food Drive.
Alden, 28, rolled in as soon as he could Saturday afternoon behind the wheel of a white Kenworth truck that belonged to his grandfather Bob Richardson, who passed away this year.
“Bob and his wife, Lynda, have been our biggest supporters for years. They’ve always been the first here and she volunteers every year,” said a spokesman for Island Equipment Owners Association.
Determined to “keep on truckin’ ” and uphold tradition, Alden and his son Brody,5, decorated the truck and drove the route with Lynda in honour of her husband.
“As long as grandma keeps the truck, we’ll keep doing this,” said Alden, whose grandfather drove the fancy “grocerygetter” in the long-running charity event for 18 years.
Eighty lighted trucks participated in the family-friendly event, which sees equipment owners drive through several communities before ending up at Western Speedway in Langford. Spectators are encouraged to drop off donations for local food banks along the route.
“This is such a great event for a good cause and I see a lot of my friends,” said Peter Strazza. He arrived from Duncan, where he drives a mint-green Volvo 30-wheeler for Marpole Transport.
As always, the spectacle of a glittering array of big rigs festooned with elaborate Christmas lighting displays and characters — the Grinch, smiling snowmen, Elmo and Santa Claus were all present — was a sight to behold. There was even a B.C. Transit bus sporting antlers and a giant red nose.
Before the parade got rolling, there was festive fun to be had at an event sponsored by the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority.
“It puts you in a festive mood pretty quickly,” said Briana Williams, 24, whoshowed up with her friend Tyler Norgaard, 24, just as Santa Claus arrived on a Seaspan tugboat.
“It’s not every day you seen Santa arrive by tugboat,” said Victoria singer Stephanie Greaves, who welcomed Santato a West Coast version of Santa’s Workshop on Ogden Point after singing Frosty the Snowman.
“Everybody’s so happy at this time of year,” Greaves said.
“Nothing pleases me more than looking around at the crowd and seeing so many smiling faces.”
There’s another reason this is the most wonderful time of the year for Greaves, she said: “I get to wear sparkles.”
Many of the volunteers also had reason to smile, remembering the pouring rain that soaked spectators during the popular holiday event last year.
“This weather is phenomenal,” said Jeff Lumley, wearing a safety vest while directing traffic.
“We’re all high-fiving because the sun is shining and there’s no rain.”
What a fun parade, they even had "snow" which was actually created from a bubble maker, as it is still too warm on Vancouver Island to have actual snow.

Adorable lamb tries to steal woman's bracelet
An afternoon visit to Aldor Acres family farm in Aldergrove British Columbia made for some pretty funny barnyard animal moments.
This short video within one of the pens of some very young lambs shows the curiosity and personalities these little cuties possess . Mama sheep was hanging out at the back of the pen and keeping an eye on here little ones. Sheep are a very social animal. In a grazing situation, they need to see other sheep so keeping a few together makes for the least stressful situation imposed on the animals. Domestication has also favored the non-aggressive, docile nature of sheep, making it easier for people, especially women and children, to care for sheep. Sheep were one of the earliest animals to be domesticated, and they have been thoroughly domesticated. It is doubtful they could survive in the wild, if a predator risk existed.
Sheep have extremely sensitive and excellent senses since they are prey animals. They have very good sight, smell and hearing to help them avoid becoming prey to an animal such as a cougar or mountain lion. The background of Aldor Acres farm is they began 26 years ago with the main crop being pumpkins. Owners Albert and Dorothy(AL-DOR) back then put a sign and a jar at the end of the road back in 1988 and started selling pumpkins on the honour system. Little did they know, it would become a hit. They soon began giving tractor-drawn hay rides to the pumpkin patch and providing an educational, hands-on farm experience for guests. October brings 20 acres of pumpkin patches and 5 acres of petting zoos and animal displays which was the attraction for Brent, Elsas and Sandy's visit this day. "What a fun afternoon at the farm" Elsa and Sandy said .

Sneaky bacon thief caught on camera!
Poncho the rescue dog from Mexico is quite the sneaky dog. There have been a few times over the last number of years that food items have disappeared without a trace. One time for instance, Brent and Elsa were having a dinner party barbecue. Brent had the grill full of prime rib steaks, baked potatoes, and shrimp skewers, and while having to pop into the house for a moment, upon returning there was one steak missing and a dog named Poncho was having a feast on the grass.... Another time, Elsa had been preparing for a family dinner. Stuffed pork chops in the middle of being prepared and again, when Elsa had to leave the kitchen this time for a moment, she returned to find one pork chop missing from atop the kitchen island, and a very guilty looking Poncho, licking her lips. As in this video, it is hard to get angry at your family pet, and as Poncho was saved from certain death as a puppy left to die inside a plastic crate pushed into a bush along a path in Playa Del Carmen Mexico 10 years ago, her owners tend to make point this may be reason for some of her behaviors.
So finally they captured Poncho the bacon thief red-pawed in this funny footage as well as catching her comical way of trying to hide behind Brent when he is "trying" to discipline her. Poncho is quite a smart pooch in many ways, one main way is looking so dang cute which always gets her off the hook for doing something wrong. Her owners know this will not be the last time she sneaks something from where she should not be, but what can you do other than love your pet no matter what they do. Positive or a little negative characteristic in your pet is never the end of the world so lets all LOVE OUR PETS as they are family too.
Enjoy this video and feel free to share my Poncho's sneakiness with your friends.

Wild Black Bear teachers cubs how to fish
Hyde Creek is located in the City of Port Coquitlam British Columbia. Port Coquitlam is in the outskirts of Vancouver British Columbia, approximately a short 30 minute, 18 mile, drive from Vancouver's city center and is nestled at the foot of Burke Mountain. Port Coquitlam sits at the confluence of the Fraser River and the Pitt River. During the early part of November, the coho and chum salmon return to Hyde Creek to spawn (lay eggs) in the gravel beds to carry on future salmon numbers. Salmon have a lifespan of three to eight years. Salmon are a kind of “super fish” that can live in both fresh water and salt water, and might travel hundreds or even thousands of miles over a lifetime! Salmon are born in fresh water and most live their adult lives in the ocean. Then they make an incredible upstream journey to spawn (lay eggs) in the same places that they were hatched. Here we see the struggles these salmon make in order to carry on their lives meaning, to create future salmon stocks. Along with battling challenges in the oceans and streams, they also battle to survive predators as you see in this video. In the end it is all part of Mother Nature.....SURVIVAL.
We also see this mama Black Bear teaching her cubs to survive, in searching out their food and being able to catch it. This time of year, late fall, is when the bears begin to prepare for winter hibernation so eating well to build fat is extremely important to survive the winters cold when food is scarce. During hibernation they will use up this extra body fat to live off of while not losing any muscle. This allows the bear to come out of hibernation thinner and still as strong as it was before winter. This was an amazing event to watch this mama teaching her cubs the proper way to catch salmon and to see these animals in an uncontrolled environment. While recording this footage Brent and Elsa were within 30 feet of the adult bear at times. Mama did not seem at all disrupted with the human presence at this location, of which there were numerous. This is a very well known location to observe this incredible part of the animal world. Enjoy and please share this video!

Piglets compete for a spot at the lunch buffet
An afternoon visit to Aldor Acres family farm in Aldergrove British Columbia made for some pretty funny barnyard animal moments.
This short video within one of the pens of some newly born piglets it shows a few different personalities these little guys can possess . Poor mom ,trying to relax gets constantly nudged, nibbled on, and walked over by her little piglets. Two of the little ones in particular have an itch they need tending to, which made for some funny footage. The little piglets have to be very determined to get a spot at the buffet. Being tough and agile goes a long was as you can see with the one little piggy climbing over his moms hind end, and his brother climbing up over moms shoulder. The "runt" which is seen on the right, is nearly a quarter the size of his sibling piggy's. Piglet Has Ants In The Pants And Twerks Like Crazy
If you ever come across the Aldor Acres family farm in Aldergrove, British Columbia you should pay them a visit and meet their talented barnyard animal who ain’t afraid to show its talent. Funny moment was caught on camera and this piglet sure made our day. We were left for words after the performance.
This short video of a newly born piglet dancing like crazy will definitely cheer you up. The little fellow is filmed twerking his bottom against the fence and dancing in its own rhythm. Who knew that piglets could dance and shake their bottom like this! This dancing piglet is the star on the farm and everybody enjoys his performance. Watch how piglet’s happy feet are restless and bounce off the wall.
The Aldor Acres family farm was started 26 years ago with the cultivation of pumpkins. Back in 1988, owners Albert and Dorothy (AL-DOR) put a sign and a jar at the end of the road and started selling pumpkins on the honor system which is usually something that does not have strictly enforced rules governing its principles. Little did they know, it would become a hit. They soon began giving tractor drawn hayrides to the pumpkin patch and providing an educational, hands-on farm experience for guests.
October brings 20 acres of pumpkin patches and 5 acres of petting zoos and animal displays which was the attraction for Brent, Elsas and Sandy's visit this day. "What a fun afternoon at the farm" Elsa and Sandy said.

Fearsome Crocodiles have a feast at Vidanta Resort Riviera Maya
Vidanta Resort Riviera Maya Mexico is a 5 star world class resort. Brent and Elsa are members and enjoy all the locations, but this trip was enjoyed by friends of theirs. The Crocodile sanctuary is a highlight of the resort, especially at feeding time, which only occurs twice a month. Being that the animals are not that active, the food they receive lasts them the time between meals. The sanctuary is a sufficient size for the number of animal in captivity, although of course, never like the wild. On this day, Brent;'s friend Shawn got the opportunity to take in the feeding and recorded this awesome footage since not many of us get the chance to actually witness these beautiful animals in person, which may be a good thing. The resort also houses a Pink Flamingo sanctuary. The Flamingos are gorgeous and very enjoyable to watch as well. Enjoy this video of the amazing animals in a setting second to none ,much like a zoo with the amazing jungle the resort has created.
Thank you for enjoying this video. Please share .

Adventurous Divers Explore the Stunning Cenote Dos Ojos
While vacationing and scuba diving in Riviera Maya Mexico, this group of dive friends from Vancouver British Columbia Canada hired a very experienced cavern and cave diving guide. Through numerous conversations prior to their trip, everyone decided that Dos Ojos would be one of their dive locations to experience the amazing underwater world of cavern diving. You will also see two small stuffed bears being held by one of the divers, these are to symbolize 2 of their great friends that also were to be on the trip but due to illness were unable to make it. Being that the dive community and friendships are very tight these friends"took along" Brent and Elsa for numerous dives that they would have been along on.
The word “Cenote” is pronounced, say-no-tay and is derived from the Mayan word, “Dzonot” which means sacred well. A combination of various geological events and climate changes created an incredible and unique ecosystem in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. These caves and underground rivers were created naturally over 6,500 years ago. Over the past 20 years, experienced scuba divers have explored these caves discovering more than 300 miles of interconnected passageways and caves that make dos ojos cenote simply amazing water entranceup this amazing one of a kind ecosystem. These cenotes, only found in this part of the world, offer certified divers the opportunity to explore something different! Discover the tranquil beauty of these pristine windows to the underwater world and experience the dive of your life floating through caverns full of crystal clear water, stalagmites and stalactites.
Dos Ojos means "two eyes " in English and there may not be a better way to describe this magical dive site. The setting is perfect as you walk a short distance through the jungle to the rather large hidden away cenote.

Divers Find Dancing Eels in Cabo Pulmo Mexico
Elsa and Brent travelled to Cabo Pulmo Mexico to experience some of the best diving in the Sea of Cortez. The El Vencedor Wreck was one of many locations they dove ,which is where they came across these dancing Garden Eels as well as many more types of sea life. The location offered sights of stingrays, giant schools of Jacks, Leopard Groupers,Moray Eels, and much more.
The town is barely 20 years old and is survived by the interest of divers and snorkelers alike. Dirt roads and solar power make this an extremely relaxing destination to stay.
Long hailed as one of the most majestic diving destinations in the world, Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park is located on the pristine East Cape area of Mexico’s Baja California Sur within an easy day trip of bustling Cabo San Lucas. The breathtaking waters of the Sea of Cortez host a stunning variety of marine life – a fact that once prompted legendary oceanic explorer Jacques Cousteau to dub this body of water the “World’s Aquarium.” Surrounded by the striking desert landscape of Baja and a small fishing village, the brilliant blue waters of Cabo Pulmo are a magnificent contrast to the rugged landscape.
At Cabo Pulmo, the astonishing biodiversity of the Sea of Cortez is magnified by the presence of one of North America’s few living coral reefs. The reef at Cabo Pulmo is estimated to be approximately 20,000 years old and features fingers of hard coral and sea fans surrounded by sandy seafloor. This fascinating habitat offers divers the unique opportunity to experience a wide variety of species in one easily accessible setting.

Divers take friendship bears diving near Cozumel Mexico
Planning a scuba diving trip for a group takes a lot of organizing, planning and scheduling. This was the job that Brent and Elsa took on for the scuba club they being to. After nearly a year of planning ,booking flights for the group of 8, and scheduling a resort on Cozumel it seemed everything was going smoothly, they just had to wait for the departure date which was not arriving soon enough.
Sadness hit just one week prior to the departure date of the trip when Brent and Elsa were unable to continue on with their dive buddies for personal reasons.
One day, during the friends diving on Cozumel they sent Brent a short video of what they had done, proving how thoughtful and caring they are as friends.
They had taken 2 small bears along, With initials B and E to distinguish which was Brent and Elsa, as they knew Brent has color issues ;-).
The friends took the 2 bears on every dive while on Cozumel, showing how much they missed B&E along on the trip.
Seeing this video brought tears to Elsa's eyes, realizing how great these friends are and how much she misses them and the diving in such a beautiful place.
True friends are hard to find ..

Watch this Nickelback SUPERFAN totally miss a great concert
Recently attending the final show of Nickelback's tour ,Brent notices this what he calls a SUPERFAN , missing an important part of a live show.
Feeling that a very important part of a live show is seeing the artists perform, Brent was a bit surprised that this woman spent almost her complete time during the show playing a game on her phone.
While almost the whole stadium was on their feet rocking it out to the performance ,this fan sat until minutes before packing away her phone and exiting the show, which was far from over.
Maybe her ticket was FREE....
All in all it was a great performance by this band ,from Vancouver British Columbia, which was the location of the last show.
Great work Chad and guys... keep up the great music.

As the otters twisted, turned and rolled within the waters of their enclosure, the young girl gives a play by play to her brother about the playful exercises the otters go through.
These little creatures are extremely active and playful even in the wild.

Dog's day on the iMovie set
Drake is an 11 year old Mastiff Pitt cross that has the personality and tempermanent of a poodle, very calm and friendly .
While enjoying some time at Vanessa's, (Drakes human), family lake home, Brent had some fun with the dogs in the lake.
Vanessa rescued Drake when he was 3 years old. Drake is like her child as many of us pet owners know happens.
As seen in the outtakes, Drake is at times tough to get motivated, it takes a little coaxing sometimes but in the end he performs and loves the water.
Enjoy this little video and please share it .
Thank you .

Divers explore Kittiwake shipwreck on Grand Cayman Island
While Brent and Elsa were vacationing on Grand Cayman Island, being divers they chose to dive the ship wreck Kittiwake. Below is some information about this incredible ship which now makes a great dive sight and artificial reef.
On January 5th 2011, the Kittiwake (an ex USA Navy Vessel) was brought to the Cayman Islands and sunk to make an artificial reef off Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach. When in active duty, the Kittiwake was a submarine rescue vessel.
The Kittiwake was in service from 1945 to 1994, serving more than 50 years. After she was retired from duty in 1994 the Caymans Islands Government purchased her to make an artificial reef. In preparation for sinking the Kittiwake was cleaned of all chemicals and oils to insure that no pollutants could harm the nearby coral reefs, and had most of her internal fixtures removed to make the vessel as diver friendly as possible.
The Kittiwake is a large vessel measuring 251 feet long, hosting 5 decks, and weighing 2200 tons. She sits in ~60 feet of water. Open water divers can swim the first three decks, and advanced divers can swim through all five decks. Some highlights of the dive include two recompression champers, which served the divers who got decompression sickness on the Kittiwake, the bathroom which still has mirrors so you can see yourself, and the mess hall which still has tables and chairs.
Most of the Kittiwake’s missions are still classified to this day, however a quick search online gets plenty of hits to some of her adventures. Most notably in 1986 the Kittiwake recovered the Blackbox from the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster. The Blackbox was recovered from the Atlantic Ocean.
Today the Kittiwake lays in a marine park serving as an artificial reef. Divers and snorkelers are not allowed to take or touch anything in the marine park. To dive or snorkel the Kittiwake, you must go on a licenced vessel.

After some time and effort, his work paid off just in time, to enjoy watching the local little beauty relax on the feeder for a short meal.
So beautiful .
Listen closely you will hear the little guys wigs buzzing to keep him aloft.

Guy feeding large Iguana not as brave as he thought he was
This little town just an hour North of Puerto Vallarta,Mexico, called Sayulita, is pretty much a surfer type town. Fairly secluded, with gorgeous beaches and crystal clear waters, it attracts many tourists. Both for beach activities and shopping.
Of course being that Brent isn't the shopper type, he is always looking for local wildlife to check out.
Finding this tree full of Iguana, he figured "why not see if one of them would like this tasty flower?"
So after picking a close by flower, one large creature definitely was interested.
As you can see , Brent was a little reluctant staying perfectly still waiting for Mr. Big to take the flower from his hand.
Brent wife, as you can hear, tells him to be careful , but of course he knows best.
After a few twitchy offerings , the Iguana was able to get a bite, both of the flower and the tip of Brents finger.
No blood was shed and no animals were injured in the recording of this video.
Brent wasn't as brave as he thought he was . ;-)
