A teenager was killed in a shooting on Detroit's west side. The incident occurred at 5:30 p.m. in the area of 7 Mile Road and Biltmore Street in Detroit. Police said they received a ShotSpotter run for several shots fired in the area.

A dramatic scene unfolded in a Kentucky courtroom when a mother lunged at the man accused of murdering her two sons. Marie Wren was dragged away by court officers. She says she couldn't control herself when she saw Brice Rhodes. He's accused of stabbing her sons and burning their bodies back in 2016. They were 14 and 16 at the time. Not long ago an old matchbook laying on photographer Pablo Iglesias Maurer's desk caught his eye. Or rather, it was the postcard-like picture on it, of a resort complex built in the 1960s. It got Pablo wondering how the place looked now, and the answer has led him to make an amazing photo series called Abandoned States. The picture came with the title How to Run A Successful Golf Course, but when Maurer got to the place, it was clear the owner of Penn Hills Resort didn't follow that advice. He pointed the camera at the decaying building at roughly the same spot and did a '5-decades-after' shot of the place. Ever since then, Pablo was hooked. He ordered more 60s postcards from eBay and started going around the country capturing these once beautiful buildings that now stand abandoned only as faint memories of what once was. "The postcards, have their own haze—the places were never as nice as they look. I often struggle to get the two images to line up, as well. But time blurs the difference, and brings everything into focus."

According to Detroit's Director of Public Works, residential neighborhoods will only be plowed if the city receives six or more inches of snow. With anything less, plows will only focus on clearing major roads. Detroit residents say this is a concern because as the snow hit roads, things become messy, especially on the side streets. "I have a lot of concerns. I use the busses and travel the streets every day," Detroiter Zakiyyah Leary said. Leary knows how hard it can be to navigate the snow-covered roads and when 7 Action News broke the news to her that the city will only be plowing side streets if six or more inches of snow falls, she was in disbelief. "[I] think that's horrible. If there's snow, plow everywhere," she said.
