We used the winch on our 2015 Ram Powerwagon to haul logs out of a pile of cut trees...it work pretty well.

I took out my old vintage Cambo 4x5 view camera this past summer and did a photo shoot with our daughter...it was fun getting out this camera after a 33 year hiatus.

Beef ribs are an often overlooked cut for smoking, but if done right they are really amazing. These were smoked on our Kamado Joe and were absolutely fall of the bone amazing.

This is the one I was after last season...pretty sure he survived so maybe next season.

I've been watching this mature buck for a couple of years through trail cam pics and finally had an encounter with him this past November. He has a nasty wound on his right chest which affects how his rack grows each year. In 2019 his left side grew straight out to the left and only had two points. This year he had a lot of mass but short tines...and you can see that his left side is still stunted. You can see the wound if you look close when he bolts away from my stand. I passed on this encounter and never saw him again...I was waiting for a bigger buck that unfortunately never crossed my path.

We grow our own corn here in NE Kansas and we use it for corn meal and corn masa...here Lesa is using her Kitchen-aide mixer to grind some Glass Gem corn in to meal...then makes a pone of cornbread.

We bought some Norton grapes last summer to make wine and we used some of the juice to make grape jelly...we try to keep to some of the old ways and honor our heritage by remembering the simpler times.

A good jacket is like an old friend and you hate to see it go when it wears out...so we (Lesa) try to repair it to to gain another year to two of use.

Our big tractor had a catastrophic failure this summer so we are having to use our little tractor to move hay for our horses...it's works but it's not the most efficient method. We are looking for a replacement for our big tractor so we can use the bale spear again

Our rooster DJ's spurs had grown so long that he was having trouble walking...so I decided to trim them. The process is pretty straightforward...it is painless to the rooster but it does cause a little bleeding.
