"Closing Loopholes" Split Shows Labor Doesn't Actually Care About Workers
I spoke in support of Senators' Pocock and Lambie pulling out sections of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes) Bill 2023 and dealing with them urgently. These are all worthwhile, all simple, and all carved out of the original legislation. This isn't controversial. It is worthwhile legislation that needs to be dealt with now.
The Closing-Loopholes Bill is a cover-up and combining the bills under the 'loopholes' tag is a trick. There are some fantastic elements in this package but they're using those to hide the flawed elements of the bill.
Despite the Labor party lies:
- One Nation will always support workers getting redundancy entitlements.
- One Nation will always support workers’ rights when they are suffering domestic violence.
- One Nation will always support workers safety against silica and asbestos.
- One Nation will always support our first responders receiving injury compensation for the PTSD they got from work.
Labor hates this move to split-out elements of the bill, because it proves they have abandoned the workers.
Labor is no longer the party of the workers. One Nation is the new party of the workers.

Laboring Under the Delusion of Albanese's Election Promises
Since 2020, real wages have gone backwards to the same level as 2009. It's the worse decline in household income anywhere in the developed world, not a title we want.
Labor traditionally sold itself as the party of the worker, but today's Labor is selling out Australian workers.
According to data from the OECD, the Albanese Labor government has presided over a 5.1% reduction in per capita household income. Before Labor tells you its because of the global problems caused by the Ukraine, or because of supply chain issues, not only did this Labor government reduce household incomes 5.1 percent, two thirds of developed nations actually grew their per capita income during the same period.
The government's Net Zero climate scam is driving power bills up and driving employment opportunities down. Labor, far from championing the workforce, is selling out workers by allowing 2.3 million visa holders into the country and driving down real wages.
The real party for the workers is One Nation.

Defence Could Have Avoided ABC Defamation of Veteran Heston Russell
I asked the ADF about whether they could have stepped in and provided the correct information that would have avoided the need for Special Forces veteran Heston Russell to take legal action to clear his name when the ABC published incorrect and defamatory information about him.
All Defence needed to do was clarify to the ABC that Heston wasn't even in Afghanistan at the time of the allegations and a multi-million dollar legal case could have been avoided.
The Generals wouldn't even lift a finger to help one of their own Special Forces veterans and they wonder why they have a recruitment crisis.

What is the Meaning of Distinguished Service Medals?
The Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) continues to claim there are no issues with his Distinguished Service Cross despite evidence that says there is.
General Campbell never saw "action" on the two way rifle range with the enemy, as was required by letters patent for the medal at the time of his nomination.
Despite claiming he had no 'operational command' of soldiers who have been accused of war crimes in the Brereton report, the nomination for CDF Campbell's medal specifically states he received it for his 'operational command' of forces in the middle east.
So when there's medals to be handed out, the CDF is happy to enjoy the claim he had 'operational command', yet when its time to face accountability for allegations of wrong doing, he denies he had any command.
I've already called for General Campbell to step down. If he had any leadership at all he would, for the good of Australia's Defence Force.

MRH-90 Taipan Helicopter Crash
Four of our defence service personnel are dead after a MRH-90 Taipan helicopter crashed in the Whitsundays.
While investigations are still ongoing, the Department of Defence has known about multiple serious, catastrophic issues with the helicopter for over a decade. By some accounts, this helicopter should have been pulled from service years ago.
The question many are asking is whether the upper brass and generals of Defence have blood on their hands for allowing this helicopter to continue flying when such huge issues were known.

Labor’s Latest Scheme to Buyback More Farmers’ Water
The Murray Darling Basin river system has driven prosperity in our beautiful country and it can continue to do so if we can save it from the city bureaucrats and Labor’s ideologically driven policies.
I put forward a motion on the Water Amendment Restoring Our Rivers Bill 2023 because it should not have any further consideration until the Albanese Government properly consults with the States. There was no Murray Darling Basin consultation and that’s the problem with this bill.
The Council of Water Ministers met in August, yet as of this November sitting we have still not seen the communication from that meeting. It seems clear that the states have not collectively signed off on the bill. I urged the Senate to support my motion to send the bill back to the Minister with a clear message to remove the sections the States do not support. Let's complete the plan, and let’s do it properly for a change.

Net Zero Wind Turbine Destruction Unmasked
We are witnessing permanent environmental vandalism under Labor.
I spoke today on the Green's motion to increase the rate at which net zero policies are turning our natural environment into wind and solar industrial landscapes.
A year after Kaban wind turbines turned pristine Australian bushland into an industrial landscape, the heavy machinery is still crushing the rock that was bulldozed and blasted off the top of mountains in the Atherton Tablelands to make way for wind turbines. Rock that is releasing arsenic into the environment with unknown consequences.
Koala habitat has been taken, and while the Greens talk frequently about saving the koalas, they pick and choose which koalas they care about.
This vandalism must stop.
At the end of a mining operation, the mine can be filled in and remediated. In fact, legal contracts require it. Not so with the destruction created by wind and solar. There is no replacing a mountain top after it has been blasted off and bulldozed to make way for wind turbines.

Australians are the Masters of the Government, NOT Servants to the Government!
On Saturday over 60% of Australians realised that the people are parliament's masters, not their servants.
I spoke this morning on the Voice to Parliament, which saw 5 electorates with the largest Aboriginal population give the Voice a thrashing.
Australia voted NO to feelings-based governance and NO to elevating one group within our community over all others based only on skin colour.
Saturday's result clearly shows Canberra no longer represents the values and beliefs of everyday Australians.
It’s time to dismantle the Canberra Aboriginal industry and deliver resources directly to those in need in the bush. It’s time to stop preventing rural Aboriginals from owning their own homes and running their own affairs.
I asked the Senate a simple question - who is better to run Aboriginal affairs: the Canberra Aboriginal industry, or local Government who are in the bush ready to build the roads, utilities and community facilities rural Aboriginals need so badly.

The NAB Exclusively Promotes Digital Transactions
Over-the-counter transactions at NAB have decreased 70% since 2015. The BIG Four banks have actively discouraged people from withdrawing cash over the counter in the past several years. By training customers in this way, the banks have been able to produce a ‘shock and awe’ figure of 99.95% reduction in cash transactions. Sounds incredible, yet that's exactly what it is. It isn't so much a shift away from cash by the public - it’s a shift in behaviour by the banks.
The banks have no idea how many people are using cash. They don't see cash transactions. They are actively discouraging the use of cash, then coming out with statements that people don't want to use cash, which is just plain wrong.
According to many constituents, if a customer goes to a branch of the NAB to use the counter services, there is a high likelihood they will be shown how to use the ATM. The NAB says that’s because they need to know and be fully aware of the alternative options. In June, the NAB is pleased to report they saw 96% of customers making digital transactions. How many of those were walked outside to do that?
Mortgage applications are now being conducted remotely by 40% of customers. Pre COVID the figure was zero, yet post COVID the NAB has found that customers are very happy to take up the digital services for buying a house. The NAB report that a massive shift has occurred over the last few years. Social distancing and lockdowns furthered their digital goals.
The NAB’s reported 99.95% less cash payments is just for bank transactions within the bank itself. All real-world cash transactions are an unknown figure. Customers still need to go to the bank though to withdraw their money to use it in their daily lives. How hard is that becoming?
Ross McEwan, CEO of the NAB, says there are thousands of ATMs available to do this freely, and also acknowledges that Australia is a large country. The NAB says it looks at a range of factors when making decisions to close branches, including feedback from staff members and what is happening in the community where it has invested. How much of that is about listening to customers’ needs?

What is the Role of a Bank?
A theme throughout this inquiry into Australia's bank closures is that bank representatives continue to say they are committed to providing cash for the foreseeable future despite Australians using cash less frequently. The Commonwealth Bank has no plans to remove the distribution of cash even though it is a cost to the bank to keep cash available, according to CEO Matt Comyn. I know that Australians are afraid of losing cash. There's no doubt that the best way to keep cash alive is to keep on using it.
Despite regional bank closures, more than 90% of customers remain which is seen as a sign less customers see a physical branch as important because more of them are using online services.
I asked Matt Comyn about the bank's digital expansion which includes the CommBank App. He said this app is used by eight million customers and the vast majority of customers appreciate the bank's investment in it. The bank's contract with Australia Post, worth tens of millions of dollars, is a partnership allowing customers to make transactions at Australia Post outlets where the bank has been shutting down branches. For many rural customers the Bank@Post scheme doesn't offer everything they need.
We also discussed the many ways the Commonwealth Bank along with the rest of the Big Four Banks are supported by the government including bail-in, props such as government guarantees for overseas borrowing, regulatory support and their advantages over smaller banks.
When I asked about the shareholdings by asset managers such as BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street, Matt Comyn responded that most of the bank's shareholders are Australian retail shareholders, domestic superannuation shareholders, and shares held by 12 million Australian families. Share dividends will be high this year with a record $10.2 billion profit and a pay packet for its CEO of $10.4 million.
The Commonwealth bank serves about 10 million customers. Among those customers are many Australians who are worried about digital controls, branches closing, and the gradual loss of cash as a readily available and convenient means of transaction. The Commonwealth Bank prides itself on supporting its customers so let's hope they're also a listening bank.

The Future is Digital Says Westpac CEO
Your future is digital and Westpac’s is even higher profits. Once again, the commercial in confidence excuse was trotted out around disclosure of the cost of the Australia Post community representation contracts that are allowing the banks to close many of their regional branches. In 2018 the amount was public information so what's changed? Westpac has taken the question on notice.
Almost a quarter of Australians cannot do digital banking. Either they lack access or the necessary skills to go online for their banking. I asked Westpac why the bank is turning its back on these Australians. The way Westpac's CEO Peter King views this is that 96% of their own customers are engaging with them digitally so all is well.
Has Westpac looked at the fact they're pushing people online who don't actually have the capability to stay safe and secure on that platform? Instead of directly answering my question, Peter King said the three biggest scam losses are through investment scams, romance scams and business email compromises. Banks are doing everything they can, he said, to prevent this by blocking suspicious payments and educating customers.
Westpac is enthusiastic in its push towards digital. In Townsville for example, where Westpac has shut its doors, the bank conducted education sessions to help customers adapt to the digital transition. Clearly there are factors that limit digital banking in regional Australia. Westpac's answer isn't to reverse the closures, it's to improve its banking app to do everything. The bank intends to shoehorn people into the digital economy whether they like it or not. Peter King believes this shift is much broader than just banking because all government and essential services will become digital too.
Will there still be cash? Peter King thinks that cash will still exist in the economy but its use will decline. Cash made up 70% of all transactions in 2007. That figure is now 13% and trending down. Where telecommunications or power are cut off, Westpac would get cash into an affected area by flying it in. Telecommunications is obviously critical.
Finally, I asked if Westpac's data might not be accurate. It isn't capturing all cash transactions. Once cash is circulating there is no way to track it, so perhaps they're not seeing the real picture of cash use in the economy. I was told the Reserve Bank undertakes surveys into how cash is used and in Westpac's view there is less call for cash making it less important in the scheme of things. Online banking and Bank@Post will replace bank branches, particularly in regional areas where Westpac and the other big banks are pulling away from in person services.
Profits over personal touch is what's in store for customers in the digital economic future. In a move we're seeing across the corporate and political sectors, the Big Four are making the data fit the narrative so they can achieve their goals. Where's the care factor?

Australia Needs Independent Drug Scrutiny — the TGA is Compromised
In Senate Estimates, Professor Brendan Murphy, former Chief Medical Officer for the Australian Government and now Health Secretary, rejected the suggestion that the TGA ever took a position on vaccine mandates. You can listen to him saying here that the government only supported mandates in limited circumstances earlier in the COVID injection roll-out. He says they were only needed in health, disability and aged care settings due to their high vulnerability. National Cabinet had no strong position on community-wide mandates. Professor Murphy claims that everyone, including other departments and jurisdictions, took their own position. The TGA did not promote the COVID injections or mandates. Incredible!
The TGA authorised Moderna's injection for young children with co-existing health conditions despite the fact the study is only being conducted in healthy children. That study is also not yet completed. ATAGI's guidance is that the 'vaccine' is recommended ONLY for high-risk children with a comorbidity. Under questioning, the TGA admits it does not require patient level data and relies on a dossier from the sponsor (the pharma company). The ATAGI advice was that this shot be reserved for use in 'at-risk' children, i.e those with immuno-compromising pre-existing conditions.
I asked the TGA about reporting performances in the DAEN database of adverse events including fatalities. I wanted to know whether adverse event notifications were higher in those parts of the country where reporting is required compared to those without mandatory reporting. I'm advised that reporting rates are not higher in the jurisdictions where it is obligatory to report. The TGA has advised that consumer reporting of adverse events directly to the TGA increased by 28-fold in 2021 compared to 2020. Similarly, health professionals submitted nearly three times as many adverse event reports to the TGA in 2021 compared to 2020.
Strict independence of scrutiny for these products is clearly needed and is now being called for by a highly regarded epidemiologist.
Mortality figures for cancer are higher since the injections were introduced. The COVID products were not tested for carcinogenic properties simply because those responsible have taken the position that the substances involved don't warrant such studies. The TGA did review Pfizer product on paper only for genotoxic and carcinogenic potential. In its dossier, Pfizer justified the absence of studies into cancer risk based on the exposure threshold concept. However, there is an absence of repeat dose toxicity data and the assessment of the stimulation of cytokine release.
Pfizer's dossier, as sponsor of the product, adequately justified the authorisation of its use in Australia by the TGA, and so we joined what former Minister for Health, Greg Hunt, called the largest human trial and the largest vaccination trial that the world has ever engaged in.

TGA is Risking Your Health to Act as a Sales Agent for Big Pharma
A cheap, safe, award-winning, generic medicine, one that has been around for decades and was readily available, was shown to save people's lives during an outbreak of a virus. Do you think it was a good decision for Australia's Therapeutic Drug Administration (TGA) to arbitrarily ban its availability and off-label prescription in order to save it for skin conditions? Why not just buy more of it?
Despite substantial bodies of evidence from around the world, Australia did not recognise the available proof supporting Ivermectin's use because no 'sponsor' (read pharmaceutical company) brought it to the TGA. What they did do was convene a Commonwealth-funded Clinical Evidence ‘Kangaroo Court’ which declared Ivermectin had no value in the treatment or prevention of COVID19.
This completely ignored a generation of evidence that Ivermectin was an effective early stage treatment for coronavirus.
The TGA continued to ignore the new data that showed Ivermectin was an effective and safe early treatment for COVID until the jab rate was over 95%, then they allowed its use. Here's the kicker — the TGA admits in this video they made this decision because they were worried that people would not seek vaccination if they believed Ivermectin could help them.
Regulatory capture by pharmaceutical industries is a well known concept but I'm reassured that this "doesn't happen at the TGA". Yet in the same line of questioning, the TGA admits that if a pharmaceutical company sponsor does not promote a drug with them, and pay the fee of course, they don’t bother to show the initiative themselves.
This is purely a transactional process, as the TGA itself admits in this senate estimates. It's clear that there is something very wrong with the system.

TGA's Process Patently Not Effective
At the June Senate Estimates I asked several questions of the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA).
I asked what the TGA was doing to help Australians access a potential new antibacterial to overcome antimicrobial resistance, medicinal cannabis, and off-label Ivermectin. What this trio of medicines has in common is that they are not profitable for pharma because, in the case of the first two, they cannot be patented and patents are how pharma makes its $billions.
Ivermectin is an award-winning drug with a huge body of evidence supporting both its anti-parasitic and anti-viral activity. Because it's been around for over 70 years, is off-patent and inexpensive, there is little interest from pharma in sponsoring the drug. See how it works? These medications should not be left behind because of pharmaceutical company profit margins.
From the answers provided by the TGA, it's clear that health products that don't add to the wealth of pharmaceutical companies have no chance of approval under this Government. The TGA should be acting in the best interests of the Australian people, not the profit margins of big pharma.

No More Net Zero Performances from Politicians
From COVID mismanagement to inflation. Unsustainable immigration and the resulting housing crisis. Where do you put a million extra arrivals when you can't house those already here? And at the core of it all is the price of electricity which hits every single part of our lives because it affects everyone from the householder to small businesses, manufacturing and farming.
The price of the United Nations Net Zero pipe dream isn't just on your power bill. It's on every other bill as well. If wind and solar were as cheap as we were promised we'd have the cheapest power ever. Instead it's the highest it's ever been along with the cost of living.
The irony of the Liberal party trying to deflect all the blame for skyrocketing electricity onto Labor is almost laughable. It's thanks to the Lib-Lab policies and backroom party power brokers that we are all paying the price for the globalist interference in our government, no matter which wing of the bird we are looking at. It's the same bird every time. It just costs more to roast it these days.
Party politics has corrupted this parliament and we need to return it to a house of representatives for the people.
Politicians should be warned. They've been able to get away with dodgy deals and dodging questions for decades. The hollow promises and empty performances were once met with complacency. Those politicians might think they're clever but people are watching them now. They see through it. Life is getting tougher by the day for Australians and they won't take it much longer. People are waking up at last.

Faith in Healthcare Attacked by Canberra's Autocrats
Speaking in support of the ACT Self Government Amendment Bill 2023, I commend Senator Canavan for introducing this bill. I strongly support pushing for an inquiry into the ACT government's seizure of the Calvary Hospital in Canberra. This is a blatant attack on religion in healthcare. It cannot be dressed up as anything else.
The issue that is being tiptoed around is the clash between religious principles that stand against abortion of a living, viable foetus. Those same principles stand against ending life through euthanasia of a person who may make a different decision, free from coercion or momentary despair, on a different day. The ACT has legislated abortion and euthanasia whilst the Catholic Church insists on putting humanity around those rules.
This has inflamed the ACT autocrats who have decided that there is no place for religion in healthcare. So much so that they planned this takeover for 12 months without telling Calvary who continued to negotiate on a new Northside Hospital in good faith.
These are the same mindless, hypocritical zombies that push for drag queens to expose themselves and read adult porn to young children in libraries and schools. Their answer to the uproar against this perversion is "if you don't like it, don't go". This works both ways. If you don't like religion in healthcare, aged care or education, the remedy is simple. Don't go. Freedom of choice! Except the Canberra autocrats don't like freedom either. They've embraced a totalitarian agenda since COVID normalised such behaviour in Australia.
Federal Parliament has precedence over ACT law and this matter is rightly within the Senate's purview. My message to the Canberra Health Bureau autocrats is this: God decides who lives or dies. Not you.

Time to Burst the Bankers' Club Bubble
At a recent Senate Banking Inquiry I spoke with Michael Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer of the Customer Owned Banks Association.
I know that many of our supporters hold the belief that more regulation will bring the banks under control. The truth is that the banks will always have smarter lawyers than the government. Regulation becomes a barrier to entry of new or small players wanting to compete with the big banks. At the same time, the big banks do whatever they want with only the occasional penalty that is clearly not enough to stop them.
The answer to this dilemma is a Government-owned bank that provides the existing banks with real competition by running the bank for the benefit of the customers and shareholders equally, rather than entirely for the benefit of shareholders, as the banks are doing at the moment. The difference will be especially noticeable in the areas of customer service and ethics.
Suncorp is the 6th largest bank in Australia. It is on the market for a bargain price of $4.9 billion. My proposal is for the government to buy Suncorp Bank outright using the Future Fund and re-purpose it to provide the full range of banking services through Bank@Post.
This would offer real competition to the big banks. By running the Post Office Bank using a modified Code of Practice it guarantees the customer a bank that will not behave like greedy, immoral, profiteering crony capitalists.
That would be a refreshing change.

Playing Politics With Water Feeds No One
An issue that matters to many of my constituents is water. Minister Plibersek has hijacked the Murray-Darling Basin Plan to win votes in the city at the expense of the bush.
One Nation calls on the state and federal water ministers to end political grandstanding. Suspend the 450 gigalitre acquisition and provide the funds to complete stage two of the south-east drains restoration project. This is how we get the extra water to open the Murray mouth and finally reverse the last 50 years of environmental damage to the Coorong and lower lakes due to political lies.
Our amazing farmers use their water to help feed and clothe the world. Stop treating them like criminals just to win votes off the Teals and Greens in the city. It doesn't serve Australia's best interests to play politics with this water.

Miners and Businesses from QLD and the Hunter Valley Let Down by the Fair Work Act
I've been raising the issue of the exploitation of miners for years. Miners and small businesses need to be heard because they are the losers in this ongoing rort. We need an extensive inquiry into it now.
The Fair Work Act is designed for the "industrial relations club," not for workers and not for small businesses.
I've written twice about this issue to the previous member for the Hunter, Joel Fitzgibbon. I've also written and hand delivered a letter to Dan Repacholi's office. I asked them to get involved. Both have failed to respond, yet they stand up and talk in this chamber about closing the loophole.
There is no loophole! There is only people not doing their job and letting down miners and small businesses.
When will these people find it in themselves to care, or at least do something about the fact that everyday Australians are being ripped off and the authorities are enabling it?

The Labor Government's War on Space
I spoke in support of a motion to protect Australia's space program. The Albanese government's decision to terminate the national space mission for Earth observation (NISMO) is shortsighted and false economy.
Investment in a homegrown space program designing, building and launching satellites was a recommendation by the Australian Academy of Science in a 2022 report. Apart from the career opportunities and jobs the program would have offered, it also provided national security.
It would provide Australia with its own remote sensing capabilities and reduce sovereign risk. It would give us the ability to respond to emergencies and track bushfires, floods and extreme weather events.
Does PM Albanese not understand remote sensing?
The cancellation of NISMO follows last month's axing of the Australian Spaceports Program, which would have seen government funding assist the establishment of launch facilities on Australian soil.
This is not about saving money — we still need this capability somehow. It would be far better to have the capability under public control rather than relying on a patchwork of private and foreign suppliers.

NSW Handmaid's Bills Will Hurt Women and Children
New South Wales State MP Alex Greenwich has introduced two horrific anti-human bills in the NSW parliament. These bills are so bad I had to raise my concerns in a Senate speech.
In 2023 women are becoming simultaneously invisible and exploited. Women's rights are being removed by the Left under the cover of 'inclusive' gender diversity and a 'progressive' facade. This attack on femininity is taking the women's movement backwards, which will come at a terrible cost to our society. When public figures are too cowardly to even define what is a woman, society is in trouble.
In a nutshell, Alex Greenwich proposes legalising sex self-id, making official documents reflect the individual’s self-image rather than biological reality. This undermines the safety of women and girls in female only spaces. He also seeks to fully deregulate prostitution, removing protections for all prostituted persons.
In a bid to make it easier for the gay community to become parents, Alex Greenwich's proposed bill also seeks to remove bans on commercial surrogacy if it happens outside NSW. Although it's an understandable goal for gay couples to parent a child, this would make it legal for NSW residents to use foreign baby farms.
Such a bill would encourage the exploitation of poor, vulnerable women. It reduces them to the status of a womb for rent and turns children into products for sale. We're living through the beginnings of a modern day handmaid's tale. Bills such as these would remove many of the protections in law women have worked so hard to achieve.
This attack on women's rights is also an attack on society's values and religious freedoms. The final thing this bill seeks to introduce is that religious belief will no longer be an acceptable employment criteria for religious schools. If someone from the LGBTIQA+ community wanted to infiltrate a religious school then woe betide that school for turning them down. It's clear that those responsible for the moral decay of society see Christianity as the resistance and want it destroyed from within.
