I heard such amazing things about the Vitamix and thought that was going to be my buy it for life blender. Vitamix Pros: super powerful, lid was always secure. CONS: very loud, knobs and control panel were a bit too no frills for me (I wanted presets and not just a switch and knob with numbers). Next up, I thought the Blendtec would be the answer to my woes with the Vitamix. PROS: The wild side jar was great, no plunger needed. The preset buttons were handy. CONS: loud, vibrates and moves on the counter because the base is not very heavy, and my biggest annoyance of all, the lid. The lid is the most poorly designed lid ever. If you plan on making soups, do not get a Blendtec as the lid will warp from the heat and become loose. I went through three lids and they all did the same thing. Even contacted Blendtec and they didnt seem to care. So bye bye Blendtec. Finally, the Super Q checks all the boxes. The lid is amazing and secure no matter the temperature of what you’re blending. Ive recently made tomato soup in it and no lid warpage whatsoever. The base is nice and sturdy and will stay put no matter what you’re blending. It is also the most quiet of the three blenders - I’ve used it while my five month old is sleeping without issue. The cord storage is a great feature and I love the presets, they are exactly what I need, no more no less. The knob to adjust speeds is really well designed and I love that it takes the guesswork out of everything. The blender capacity is also really nice. Overall, I’m really impressed with the level of design and detail Breville’s taken with this blender. If you’re on the fence, go for it! Worth the price tag. This was a great purchase. The device is world class for culinary people. Very happy with my new Breville blender. Not too noisy does a great job quickly. I often make veggie-fruit smoothies with frozen as well as fresh fruit.
