The Recording Process in a Nutshell
I made this little clip as part of the artists challenge on Facebook in April 2021 during #covid19 and its third wave roaming the country. This probably as a call to action in displaying examples of our creative activities as an inspirational statement and in favour of the creative arts that got hit badly by the global lockdown in many areas due to a factual ban of creative professions at large.
Bear with me for some technical challenges that I'm still in the process of smoothing over as best as I can seeing as I depend on minimal gear for the time being. Making excuses is usually a no–no, I basically meant to say that I'm aware of some technicalities that I'll address as I go along.
Hope, you're still going to enjoy this a little. If you do, consider subscribing to my channel by "dinging the bell" icon below the video and next to this caption. I plan on releasing bits and pieces on an at least semi–regular basis. ;-)

SpriteFright for #scorerelief2022 – Virtual Walkthrough / Making–Of
In this video I walk you through the project template I used in coming up with my entry for #scorerelief2022, initiated by The CueTube (Bryan Waters) for a fund raising campaign benefitting "In Place Of War", a global organization that rebuilds communities and (social) life in places that have been struck by war or other armed conflict. My main motivation was to support this campaign and their cause as their work touches on very personal aspects of my own life and being. Other than that I meant to support the growing The CueTube-community and challenge myself to something meaningful. I hope that this video can help others starting out and venturing into this exciting domain of music and composing. Content chapters and all relevant links further below.

I'm looking at the chord progression in the intro/1st verse of both songs following some remarks on my Facebook profile that stated they are identical chords. Are they? Let's take a closer look....

#scorerelief2022, my entry for the competition with a heart
This is my entry into #scorerelief2022 as initiated by #BryanWaters of #TheCueTube on behalf of supporting crisis relief efforts of #InPlaceofWar with the associated crowdfunding campaign at crowdfunding.co.uk/scorerelief2022, which to me is really a 100% matter of the heart for even personal reasons.
Hence... I went above and beyond my current limitations – some personal, some technical – in order to come up with something, which you and the jury for this contest are hopefully going to enjoy. This animated movie is another brilliant work of the good folks at Blender Studios (please see link below) who have already supported last year's #scorerelief2021 with another most heartwarming beautiful little story to rescore. (which was a most rewarding project irrespective of the massive effort it took for me)
This one here is a little different from last year's. But ... no spoilers, it'll be best if you just watched it, I think it'll be worth it ;-)
Please also take notice of the links below for further supporters of this campaign - i.e. Northern Film Orchestra – and most importantly, please support the crowdfunding campaign for #scorerelief2022 at crowdfunding.co.uk/scorerelief2022. Any donation, no matter how small or large, is highly appreciated!

Chuck Loeb Interview 2010 @ Smooth Jazz Festival Augsburg (full length)
I was given the incredible opportunity of sitting down with guitar master, producer and successful wearer of many hats, Mr. Chuck (†) in 2010 right after soundcheck for his headlining appearance at Smooth Jazz Festival Augsburg, and chat with him on his then recent taking of the guitar seat with Jazz supergroup Fourplay as well as his own solo project(s) and entire music career. R.I.P., Mr. Loeb. (what a kind & wonderful human being he was)

Naiad Theme (wesbound music video)
I dedicated this song to Jascha Sonis of http://jsonisdesigns.com about a year ago. It is inspired by her work in general as well as in particular on behalf of the DO Foundation (http://www.dofoundation.net). Naiads are a type of nymph (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naiad).
Thanks to my best buddy Wolfram for shooting the video and contributing some great creative ideas - I hope, I did you proud in how I chose to edit them. Thanks, man! This was real fun to do! You're a born videographer to me!
Hope, you'll all enjoy this one. It's my first real music video - at least, that's how I'd like to think of it ;-)

On Broadway
I'm in the process of rehearsing a little repertoire I plan on presenting by the end of next month. I know, I still got some mileage to do before being ready again to hit the stage. However, here's a little sample of what I'm doing. The playback is a karaoke/playalong file you get to purchase on e.g. iTunes. Otherwise, I wouldn't have know, how to build a repertoire of some 20+ songs that quickly. Hm... Let know, whether you think it'll work this way... (I know, more rehearsing... :/ )

So What (Ronnie Jordan–Version)
This one will require more practicing... and being a lot cooler about handling all the recording applications at the same time as playing - which puts a lot of stress on me, I must admit. I'll be following up on this - hopefully soon and with a better version. This is rather an experiment, as I have played and recorded all the tracks of the backing track (drums, piano etc.) by myself.
update: I noticed that handling the recording really stresses me to the point, where the easy flow gets lost from being too tense... I will have to work on that.

My Funny Valentine (as performed by Dave Grusin in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" soundtrack)
Here's a song I've been trying to practice as well as possible over the years (not on a daily basis, but everytime I would sit down at the piano).
I'm not a piano player per se, although I've enjoyed some classical training in High School years. However, I've always enjoyed the sound and versatility of the instruments, as it gives you a full "soundtrack" in its own, without need for further instruments or backing track or anything.
I've always loved the song "My Funny Valentine", and especially the version appearing in the soundtrack of the "Fabulous Baker Boys" starring Michelle Pfeiffer and the Bridges Brothers (Beau and Jeff). So...here's my little tribute to Mr. Dave Grusin.
