A baby elephant in Thailand just loves to give hugs. A 2-week-old calf took her caretaker Allie by surprise when she collapsed into her lap and started snuggling up to her. The adorable moment was captured in a video by ViralHog. Allie has been with the baby elephant every day since she was born but this was the first time the pair has cuddled.

This March we spent an incredible week volunteering at Journey@Freedom, an Elephant Nature Park project. Set in the hill of Northern Thailand, we got to know 7 elephants up close. Since a number of our own members are former military it is always a meaningful experience. We decided to make a different form of enrichment to give to Cameron and Zabu our male lion and white tiger that live in the same enclosure!

We had an amazing time feeding and patting all the other animals in the zoo. Every encounter is 100% supervised by several staff. This was a VIP "one on one" tour. Giraffes, goats, monkeys, piglets. This was all before the opening of the park to general public. Great experience.
