2 Vehicle Accident, Both Drivers Hospitalized, 1 Flown, WEST TEMPE, September 15, 2022 - At approximately 5 pm on September 15, 2022, a gray 2013 Ford Explorer, driven by Zachariah Robertson, 34, of Onalaska, was east-bound on US-190 West. As Robertson approached the intersection of 3126 (the caution light), a blue 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by James Sliger, 31, also of Onalaska, pulled off of 3126 directly in front of Robertson. The vehicles impacted. Robetson's vehicle left the east-bound lane of 190, crossed the west-bound lane, left the pavement, jumped a drainage ditch and came to rest in the weeds. Sliger's vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder of the east-bound side of 190. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, and Troopers Cotye Lowrie and Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol. Robertson and his passengers (several kids) were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hosptial with non-life-threatening injuries. Sliger was also transported to CHI where an air medical helicopter landed and flew him to a larger hospital. Traffic on both sides of 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Sliger was cited for failure to yield. Both vehicles were recovered by George White & Sons Wrecker Service (both drivers requested George White) and will be stored in Onalaska.
