Major Hauls And Tons Of Free Building Materials For My Tiny Home

Tuesday I got a ton of free materials for building my tiny house on wheels. It was a busy day hauling free stuff home for my construction.

I picked up two loads of pallets from the lumber yard clean out job I am doing. I finished getting out all the junk wood and now I am picking up pallets, vinyl siding and then I get my good lumber to build my house with. Plus then I get my wind turbine tower from the guy.

I have two large pickup truck loads of free wood pallets that I will use to build the interior of my tiny house with. I will make my own kitchen cabinets using free pallet wood and save literally thousands of dollars on materials. Kitchens cost between $1,000 to 6000 at Lowes for example. That is way out of my price range.

Plus building my own kitchen cabinets means I can build them to my own specs and I will have a sense of accomplishment when I am done.

I also picked up a free boat with a trailer. I found it on craigslist. I do not need nor want the boat. It is in bad shape anyway. I will scrap out the metal from the boat and cut the rest up. I can burn the wood and dispose of the fiberglass properly once it is cut up smaller.

The metal in the boat should bring at least a hundred dollars.

But the important thing is the free boat trailer which I will sell so I can buy more supplies for my tiny house. Boat trailers cost a lot in NY and are hard to find. This was an amazing deal. It was free. Anything I get out of it is a profit.

I also found some beautiful soldered glass windows on the side of the road which I picked up. There was a door with two matching side windows. I want to use the glass in my tiny house. I love soldered glass windows.

At the same place were two double pane windows with no frames. I keep finding free double pane windows with no frames. I grabbed them. I decided to make my own window frames and save a lot of money.

The door and windows in my tiny house would cost me $1,000 new. I already got a free door and now I have a couple windows. I hope to find some more and save a lot of money on my tiny house construction.

I have a new surprise at The Off Grid Project. I have the first ever Off Grid Project souvenirs. I used my new HF tools and some pallet boards to make a coffee coaster labeled with The Off Grid Project logo. I used a planer to clean up both sides of the wood. Then I sanded it smooth.

Inside the RV I printed my logo and taped it to the coaster. Then I used a wood burner to burn the image into the wood. With a punch set I stamped out the letters and then burnt them in too.

If enough people are interested, I will order a brand with this design on it and start making The Off Grid Project coffee coasters.

These are truly green. They are made out of recycled pallet wood. I am only using heat treated wood so there are no chemicals in it. The work is done at my off grid homestead and the wood burning is done using pure solar energy. That is truly green.
