Obedience: A Devotional Discussion
Jared shares a devotional about the importance of obedience to God's commandments and obedience to his commands.

From the notes of St. John Chrysostom regarding the first 13 verses in Deuteronomy 28, every blessing promised to the obedient in vv. 3-13 is relating to life in this present world. The Law of Moes could not promise eternal life to anyone obeying it. The best it could offer was physical blessings in the land of Canaan. The Law could not make one immortal, righteous, or a child of God or hire to the Kingdom of God and the world to come. The spiritual blessings in Christ, as St. Paul writes in Ephesians 1:3: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ."
