Legs Diamond - Fatty Walsh - Lucky Luciano

Jack "Legs" Diamond, a notorious mobster during Prohibition, rose to infamy as a prominent figure in American organized crime. Born in Philadelphia, he later moved to New York.

Diamond mentored younger mobsters like Lucky Luciano and Dutch Schultz but was infamous for double-crossing partners and hijacking their booze shipments.

Surviving multiple assassination attempts, he earned the nickname "The Clay Pigeon of the Underworld."

The photo captured Diamond before his surrender to police for questioning following a shooting at the Hotsy Totsy Club, which he co-owned. The club incident led to a series of retaliatory murders. Diamond's criminal career ended when he was shot and killed in 1931. His funeral was sparsely attended due to his treacherous reputation.

Similarly, his wife Alice Kenny Diamond was murdered after his death. Other figures linked to Diamond, like Fatty Walsh, met violent ends as well.

Lucky Luciano, despite surviving a kidnapping attempt, went on to shape modern organized crime and establish the Luciano Family, later known as the Genovese Family, before his imprisonment and eventual exile in Italy.
