Easy Homemade Malai Kulfi Recipe

In this video, I will be showing you how to make the delicious and creamy Pakistani dessert, kulfi. This traditional frozen treat is made with milk, condensed milk, milk powder, cream and various flavorings such as cardamom, saffron, and nuts. Follow along as I guide you through the simple steps to make your own homemade kulfi, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth on a hot summer day. Ingredients for Kulfi:

2 liters milk
2 cardamoms
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/4 cup milk powder
1/2 + 1/8 cup whipping cream
2 tablespoons chopped almonds
3 tablespoons chopped pistachios
A pinch of saffron strands

Instructions:

1. Add milk, cardamoms, condensed milk, milk powder, whipping cream, saffron strands, chopped almonds and pistachios into a heavy-bottomed pan. Mix well and bring the milk to a boil over medium heat.
2. Once the milk comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until the milk reduces to about half of its original volume. This process can take around 1-1.5 hours.
3. Once the milk has reduced to half of its original volume, turn off the heat.
4. Transfer the kulfi mixture into a jug and let it cool down completely.
5. Once cooled, pour the mixture into kulfi moulds.
6. Cover each mould with its lid.
7. Place the moulds in the freezer and let them freeze for at least 7-8 hours or overnight until completely set.
8. Once set, remove the moulds from the freezer.
9. Dip the bottom of the mould in water for a few seconds, then rub it between palms of your hands and demould it on to a serving plate.
10. Garnish with slivered almonds and pistachios.
11. serve malai kulfi immediately and enjoy!
