Pro-Palestinian rally held at Auschwitz during Holocaust memorial march

A Jewish memorial march at the site of the Auschwitz concentration camp was met with pro-Palestinian demonstrators rallying for an end to Israel’s attack on Gaza. ‘March of the Living’ is held yearly, and remembers the 6 million Jews killed by Nazi Germany and celebrates the state of Israel, but this year’s march was overshadowed by protesters, who carried Palestinian flags and banners which read ‘stop the genocide.’

‘Through this protest we want to say that we bow down to the victims of the Holocaust too,’ said one of the protesters. ‘At the same time, we demand an end to war, an end to genocide.’

The protest comes as Israel begins a controversial ground offensive in the Gaza city of Rafah, continuing the war against Hamas, which has already claimed almost 35,000 lives.
