Lyons was suddenly slammed from behind by a gray 2004 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Perry Morales, 62, of Corrigan. After impacting Lyons' vehicle, Morales swerved left into the oncoming north-bound lanes and rolled. His vehicle came to rest upside down partially on the shoulder of the north-bound lanes. Morales crawled from his vehicle under his own power and laid down on the pavement. Lyons was physically okay. Morales smelled of marijuana and admitted to having drank alcohol prior to the accident. Morales was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Traffic on both sides of 59 was partially blocked during investigation. According to multiple witnesses, Lyons' pickup did not have tail lights. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
