Trying to address the lacking customization options for character avatars, the result created androgynous monsters everyone is unsatisfied with. Distorted faces, elongated limbs and shapeless forms are what the "update" brought, but is this the case of Pokemon going WOKE??? In a weekend of soft competition, a high profile film with an ensemble cast and a big name director would have easily won the day, but it didn't even land on the podium. Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare finished 4th for the weekend, only making $9 Million domestically. It's reviewing well enough and considering A24's Civil War took the top spot with $11.1 Million, this has to be seen as a massive failure. Henry Cavill is literally the most unlucky man in Entertainment. Perhaps the divisive rhetoric of star Alan Ritchson dissuaded audiences from taking a flyer on the action film. Amazon Prime Video's Fallout TV Show has been a massive hit. While reviews are mixed as fans of the series argue if it fits within cannon, some praise is universal. Walton Goggins portrayal as Cooper Howard, the Ghoul, is a show standout. His preparation for the role was intense and it shows how seriously he took the opportunity and material he had to work with. Ella Purnell, Lucy MacLean and lead of the show, went above and beyond to endear herself the the fanbase. When asked about if she was familiar with the source material, she not only showed reverence to it, but she took it upon herself to immerse herself in it and make sure that her character would belong and act appropriately in that world. Amazon's Fallout Series is a massive hit! The red flags headed into the show turned out to be superfluous to the quality of the writing and fans are flocking to the franchise for the first time in a long time. House of the Dragon managed to do something similar in 2022 when Season 1 released. Having all the baggage left over from Season 8 of Game of Thrones and the franchise being weighed down by George R.R. Martin outright refusing to finish the books, it had an uphill battle to generate interest in the series. Coupled with cringey, girl-boss marketing and all the signs of a flop were there. But the show came out and it was good. Every subsequent week was anticipated and now Season 2 is the most anticipated release on Warner Bros. calendar. These are examples that while the generalizations are likely true, a few exceptions can sneak through a provide hope for better entertainment in the long term from big budget productions. Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth is not just Game of the Year material, this is a best of all time conversation. This is easily one of the best made games ever but if sales data is to be believed, not many people have experienced this masterpiece first hand. Chalk it up to the Final Fantasy franchise being damaged. PlayStation as a brand not being what it once was. Bad information from reviewers soured on AAA Gaming and reboots/remakes/sequels/prequels or what have you. You can point to excuse after excuse, but the facts are the facts. Once the exclusivity comes to an end and a PC version is available, we will better know the fate of games of this quality will be. If you have a PlayStation 5 or are interested enough in picking one up for the game, I cannot recommend this game highly enough; that is until I do a full review of this instant classic: and that includes the ending. Alan Ritchson is on the cusp of superstardom, off the heels of the incredibly successful Reacher series and the upcoming Guy Ritchie film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, so it would follow conventional logic an actor in this position would say something hilariously divisive. Still thinking it's a winning strategy to dunk on President Donald Trump like it's 2016, Ritchson took aim at the 2024 frontrunner and his supporters in what used to be standard fare for Hollywood elites. But after years of being talked down to, rhetoric like this falls on deaf ears or backfires. Ritchson is talented, but he has a massive ego.
