You will hear a lecture about the history of the internet. Listen to the lecture and answer the following question:
Question: What was the first message sent over the internet?
Transcript:
Good morning, class. Today, I'd like to take you on a journey through the history of the internet. The internet, as we know it today, began in the 1960s as a project of the U.S. Department of Defense. The goal was to create a decentralized communication system that would still function even in the event of a nuclear attack. In 1969, the first message was sent over the internet between two computers at universities in California. The message was "LOGIN" and was intended to test whether the two computers were connected. From there, the internet grew exponentially, and by the 1990s, it had become a global network that connected millions of people around the world.
Answer: According to the lecture, the first message sent over the internet was "LOGIN", which was intended to test whether two computers were connected.

Adult Alphabet Initial Sounds High Quality Audio
#adultalphabet #AdultPhonics
This is an example of how I teach the alphabet to adults. In Level 1, we learn how to make all of the initial sounds. Together, we work on your mouth shape, tongue placement and even adapt to your native accent issues. Together we work on all the difficulties from one language to the next.
A good private teacher will help you change your mouth shape to fix your English pronunciation the right way. Do not be afraid to start from the very beginning. Your current level of English ability does not matter if you are still having pronunciation and spelling problems. You need to learn the alphabet and the initial sounds the correct way.
This is how I work with all of my students when they ask me to tutor them.

Timing in English Speaking. Using Rhythm for Speaking Fluently
Timing in English speaking is essential to speaking fluently. Today, I am going to show you what I just taught one of my private clients (C2 English level) about rhythm and matching a cadence when we speak. I will show you how to break a sentence into speaking parts so that you can say them fluently. We will see how to remove letters to blend words together. We will also learn an equally important skill in stretching out the timing of words to match the speaking pattern.
I want you to think of timing in English like waves at the beach. Each thing you say follows the same pattern and cadence of the waves. Once you create a timing, you need to make the words in the sentences match the timing. Only then can you deliver a fluent idea. It is also very important that you think of the thing you are communicating as not just a single sentence but a single idea. Multiple sentences on the same idea must match the same timing that you started with. This rhythm for speaking will improve your fluency.

What is a Question and What is a Statement English Writing Practice
#whatisaquestion #whatisastatement
Do you know what is a question and what is a statement? When you look at a sentence you have to think about what it means. Earlier we learned what a subject and a predicate were. That pattern is one way to find a statement. The other way is to look for the question words: Who, What, Where, When, Why, How and Which. If you see one of these words at the start of a sentence, then it is a question. You can also look at the end of a sentence and see if it has a period or a question mark.
Learning what a question looks like and what a statement looks like will help you when you write your own. It also helps with assignments from teachers to find a sentence and find a question.
