Responsibilities: The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for accounting and finance functions for the Company, its funds, and certain client accounts, along with reconciliation and reporting of loan servicing cash flows. Additionally, the Analyst will work alongside a team of CPAs and Finance executives with combined industry and Big 4 accounting experience of over 30 years with a high amount of visibility to the CIO, CFO, and all partners of the Company. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, a growth mindset, and the ability to work well in teams on multiple ongoing projects. · Assist in month-end closing and financial reporting processes to achieve processing and reporting deadlines. · Maintain and update accounting records and files. · Analyze expenses and accruals and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable. · Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits. · Work in unison with Finance & Accounting team to improve financial processes. · Interface with fund administrator in accounting for fund-related activity. · Understand and ensure processes comply with internal controls and business processes, and implement improvements as needed. · Ad-hoc accounting research and application. · Intake, digestion, and manipulation of servicer-provided cash flow reports. · Reconciliation of monthly loan balances and cashflows along with other critical loan attributes. · Produce monthly cash flow reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Various ad hoc analysis to achieve the goals of the Finance & Accounting Team Skills Required: Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting required, CPA or actively working towards qualification. Required Experience: Recent or upcoming college graduate with accounting internship experience or 1+ years at a Public Accounting firm or equivalent (Internships and part-time work recognized). Must excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for success. Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong technical and analytical skills with specialized experience in: Microsoft Excel (e.g. understanding of key functions and pivot tables), Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, and basic SQL skills a plus. #accountinganalyst #austinaccountingjobs #big4intern

I hope this exercise helps you reconsider feedback in the future and adopt a "growth mindset." Awareness, when criticized, is it a chronic reaction of anger or sadness? Perhaps you are an empath and are a bit overly sensitive? Step back until you feel neutral about what is happening. Being on the receiving end of criticism can be difficult. When we hear what sounds like criticism, many of us tend to take it personally, as though our boss or a friend or family member. Remember a time you were criticized: Journal your feelings What was the criticism? Can you step back enough to observe? Is this my normal emotional reaction? Angry? Sad? What are the consequences of being oversensitive? In your personal relationships and in your career? Can you learn from the feedback? Is there an opportunity to negotiate and protect your healthy boundaries? Journaling and meditation are healing methods when you experience something perceived as criticism. I wanted to start off by asking you a question that might be a little bit deep, but one that I think is really important. What is most important to you in your life? Please take a moment to really think about it. What are the things that you value the most? What brings you the most happiness? What are the things that make you feel fulfilled? This question can be a little bit tricky because we could say so many things are important. Maybe it's your family, your career, your health, your relationships, your faith, your hobbies, or your passions. But I want you to think about the most important thing to you right now. What is the thing that, if you lost it or it was taken away, would be the hardest for you to deal with? It's okay if you're not sure. Sometimes, it takes time to really figure out what we value the most. And sometimes, our values can change over time, as we grow and evolve. But I think it's essential to take the time to reflect on what matters to us, because it can help us make better decisions and live a more meaningful life. So, I encourage you to take some time today to think about what is most important to you in your life. Write it down if that helps. And then, let's use that as a starting point for further exploration and clarification of your values. Because when we know what we value the most, we can make choices and take actions that align with our deepest desires and aspirations. Avoiding the Trap of Jumping to Conclusions How to Navigate Difficult Situations What Jumping to Conclusions means Most of us have heard the phrase, “You’re jumping to conclusions,” meaning you are concluding without knowing if there’s any evidence to support it. We may like to think we can sense whether an impression we’re getting about a situation is correct, but sometimes our intuition is wrong. Examples include: · He did not call me back because he thought I was not qualified. · That person cut me off in traffic because he does not care about others. People can fall into a pattern of jumping or coming to negative conclusions. If done consistently, this sets you up for unnecessary stress.
