A common tactic of narcissists, it refers to a form of manipulation which is aimed at shifting the focus from any wrong doing, to avoid any consequences, and attacking the victim in ways that allows them to switch roles. Gaslighting is a term referring to a form of psychological manipulation aimed at undermining and eroding someone's sense of reality, to make them doubt themselves and therefore easier to control. People pleasers tend to put the needs, thoughts and feelings of others before their own.
