The location for the house 10mx20m (buildable area) is situated in Los Angeles, California,. It is three story house. Total area is 4530 square feet for a young professional couple, a single family. Its interior design is intentionally designed to make a minimalistic mood by use of white painted for ceiling, white coated paint for wall, white coated waterproof for kitchen and bathroom area. The use of stone is limited only for kitchen countertop and bathroom wash basin area. 1st floor is 2088 sf / 2nd floor is 1829 sf / 3rd floor is 613 sf 1st floor includes spacious garden area with living room, kitchen and master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet, and guest toilet (half bathroom). Additional outdoor garden offers buffer area between outdoor and indoor area. Thus, the backyard is a place for large gathering with neighbors for such as barbeque party or happy hour for this family to invite neighbors and friends. 2nd floor includes 2nd bedroom and a large guest bedroom with a balcony respectively. There is an office area allocated for the owner to work at home from time to time. In addition, this level includes laundry room, full bathroom, walk-in closet, and storage space. 3rd floor is allocated to provide exercise area and storage for own grown vegetables and plants. Specially this floor includes roof garden to grow plants and vegetables. Taking the dry climate into account, the high ceiling will offer a natural ventilation of the house for all season to stay without AC to run. We designed this house as a vacation home (weekend home). Basis of the concept of the house is inspired by Apple’s headquarter as it offers a continuous view toward green nature like this house offers the view toward the ocean. The site is located alongside the ocean of Los Angeles residential area. From this general location, we wanted to create unique home for the prospective owner. Especially, the house on cliff can offer extensive view toward the ocean in all areas, living room, bathroom, closet, kitchen and dining room of the house. Facing to this sea, backside of the house is residential area that would not differ from ordinary house in the town. Hence, we push the house to the one level below ground with the circular courtyard in the middle. We wanted to avoid common, ordinary view of the backside of the house, and rather wanted to create privately separated scenes through the courtyard with green nature and facing to the front that the ocean can offer. Hence, the house offers unique experience through this sunken green courtyard sloped to be looking like a hill and also the open view toward the ocean. We believe what make this house special is from these sceneries toward nature. Its total area (at basement) is 220sm ( 2,368sf), and it is located near the beach of Los Angeles, California. The materials of design are simply natural stone, concrete polished finish and glass. The Forest House, a single detached home, is designed in the urban residential area in Los Angeles, California. (rendered by Enscape) We love a simple design. When architects try to make complicated design plans, in many cases it becomes user-unfriendly. Thus, it will cause more trouble during the construction. This loft small house is a cube sized 5x5x5m and total gross floor area is 458sf. It's not a design with a big plan. We simply enjoyed designing a house with a cube as an inspiration based on the moving parts of the robot in the movie, Transformers. Based on the exterior, and interior design that can be constructed in a practical and inexpensive way, we tried to find a suitable location for this house by the river. The interior didn't take into account the big plan either. We finished it with a white paint rather than a high-end decoration and built-in cabinet, and placed loose furniture to match floor wood color. In many cases, it seems rather natural by doing so. Am I the only one who feels more humanity in that? We have a basic idea that the value of an architectural space should start with the happiness of the users, and I tend to put a little more emphasis on convenience and efficiency, since we didn't have much obsession with interior design for this house project. If the design of the previous house, ‘Cube’ was to use the feelings of the movie Transformer lightly, this time, we used it moderately employing the sense of Transformer mechanism with multifaceted forms. It becomes 2 story small futuristic contemporary house. In a sense, this house outlook may get you feel a bit uncomfortable with sharp edges, but I think that the aesthetic beauty from dynamic angles through aluminum panels on the exterior seems to create curiosity to make you want to visit at least once. The house is relatively small with the size of 1,190sf in total for two floors. 1st floor area includes a bedroom, living room, kitchen and dining area. Thus, there is a guest toilet with laundry room. On the second floor, I designed the master bedroom and balcony. Especially the large pane of glass in bedroom would offer you extensive view of nature. As it is a house that exudes the feeling of futuristic, I hope it would fit well as a unique vacation home. California's dry-weather causes wildfires and spreads to homes quite often. U.S. home builders are very vulnerable to fire because they use wood materials mainly, which can cause even more damage. Nevertheless, concrete construction is expensive and difficult to use. The U.S. is large country. Mostly the distance from where concrete is produced is too far and it makes hard to transport on time and also it is quite expensive. Thus, the lack of specialized labor makes construction cost even higher than conventional development. Hence, it would be great when you can build an exterior structure of a house that's as economical as a wooden structure and doesn't burn. In that simple thought, we searched possible solution and found a product that came out to secure the need. It's called RSG-3D. (only for the purpose of the concept design) The panel is said to be 100 percent fireproof, so the effect is like concrete based on CEO said of the manufacturer. If these new materials could replace the use of concrete, we thought we could build a fire-proof house without adding too much extra cost compared to the conventional house development. Hence we made one as an sample. The house is a duplex and the total floor area is 1,870 sf (174sm). 1st floor is 1120sf (104sm) and 2nd floor is 753sf (70sm). 1st floor includes living room, kitchen, dining, 1 reading room, master bedroom, 1 ensuite with walk-in-closet and 2nd floor includes 1 living room, 1 bathroom, 2bedrooms with 1 walk-in-closet

Have you ever thought of converting your customized home into a coffeeshop (interior design) during day time? Or, your vacation home into one? Here is a reference house design project for you. It includes virtual house tour of this vacation home interior space. (btw, the images are rendered by Enscape) The location for the house is San Diego, California. It is a two story house and total area is 2,658sf (247sm) including 1st floor 165sm (1776sf) and 2nd floor, 82sm (882sf). As a vacation home, it is not much in use while the owner is away from home. So it could be rented out for a coffeeshop owner during day time, and whenever the house owner comes back for a vacation, he/she still can stay at the 2nd floor. Thus, it could be the good house to rent for parties for birthday, wedding, or other ceremonial events for local communities. The design was intended to use a full of natural ventilation as it fits best for tropical region. The hot and dry climate in San Diego would be the perfect place to have this type of house design. For the materials choices, we used concrete polished floor with natural wood finish ceiling, concrete aggregated mixture cement finish harmonized well with natural wood ceiling. For easy maintenance, outdoor wood floor was installed with ceramic tile to mimic the mood of real wood could offer. 1st floor area includes spacious outdoor garden and seating area with small Jacuzzi pool, and coffee counter bar, storage (with laundry machines), toilets for male and female. In addition, there is a small private bench seat room for guests who wants to have private conversation. The 2nd floor has one allocated seating area and the master bedroom for cozy and warm mood of interior design.

This is the design of 'Resort House' and the total area is 1940sf in California. (custom home design after Covid 19) Covid 19 is totally horrible for all of us. It is beyond stressful. Business is dying day by day. Even further, we can’t even travel to other countries as we used to do. Among all these happenings every day, the news report about the vaccine to be available was a great relief to have a hope to think that we can travel again in the near future. Thus, business might be come back to normal. While we are under this experience, it is quite basic thought that what if we don’t want to travel as much as we used to do and rather we prefer staying home. This doubt triggered to think what about we change the basis of house design into something else. Hence, we began to question if there is another way to fulfill our need in regard of house design. And what if we design a house like a resort hotel, and what if it is like camping tent? Based on these questions, we designed a house that we call ‘Resort House’. Total area of 1937sf (180sm) 904sf (84sm) at Level 1 527sf (49sm) at Level 2 505sf (47sm) at Level 3 2 bedrooms & 2 full bathrooms Living room, Dining room and Kitchen And Swimming pool and barbeque deck. For this house, we designed a flat box style modern contemporary house. We named as Contemporary Courtyard House. It is 2 story house. 1st and 2nd floor are each 175sm. In total of 350sm (3,766sf), the house includes the courtyard, backyard, barbeque deck, swimming pool and 3bedrooms with 2ensuite bathroom with 1 half bathroom, kitchen and dining room, family tea seating area, roomy living room. Plus, it has small allocated exercise area and a guest toilet. This house is located in the middle of two previous houses we design previously. They are located in the same street of Los Angeles, California. It really makes this project quite fun to see how they mingle together in the same street. Apparently, they are different styles each other. Especially, this modern house is quite different from the others. The main reason is due to its structural system. Previous projects are based on wood structure, but for this house is based on reinforced concrete mixed with steel structure system. Because of that, it appears to be quite different. One of the most important features of this house is the use of the central courtyard. Since the house is in between the other two houses which occur in many cases of residential town in urban area, keeping privacy is not really easy. So the idea of the design started with building up two walls to block views facing to neighbors’ houses. Hence, we created own private space for home owner to enjoy green, open space through the courtyard. It might be a great feature to have it in this urban context. We designed 2 modern family houses located in Los Angeles, CA, as if we are a developer to sell them after completion of the project. Overall site area is around 6,000sf. Assuming this lot is allowed multi-family houses, we planned 2 identical houses to reduce the cost of design service also to ease the construction process. This house is currently foreclosure under auction. We assume to purchase it slightly higher than bidding price which is $420k. So, we assume to add 430k for the land acquisition. The area requires 36” setback for residential development. Hence, we designed building area by 1650sf which is around 27.5% of the land. Landscape area is over 15% more than what is required by local code. Hence, we planned each house gross floor area to be 2,200 sf and total gross floor area is 4400sf with 3 story, 3 bedrooms & 2.5 bathrooms. For more details, please check the video.
