Growing Organic Green Peas in summer garden 2023
Hello! Good morning, Good afternoon or Good evening according to your time zone! I am showing my garden what I started in the last week of May this year. This is what I wanted to grow (SHOWING ONLY GREEN PEAS HERE). This is beginner friendly and without any chemicals. I do compost in place of container gardening. That means no additional work for compost turning or extra smell. In addition, no kitchen waste goes to the garbage bin and makes healthy soil. It's a very little step but worthy in terms of earth and earth creatures. Growing your own food is very fun and healthy. Pick up veggies from the garden that you need to make a recipe for that day totally relaxing. Try your own and get excited. Thanks for watching! Have a wonderful day!

Grow your own salad green organically
Organic baby kale and beets offer several benefits due to their nutrient content and the absence of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers typically used in conventional farming. Here are some of the benefits of consuming organic baby kale and beets:
1. Nutrient-rich: Both baby kale and beets are packed with essential nutrients. Baby kale is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Beets are rich in fiber, folate, manganese, and vitamin C. Including these organic vegetables in your baby's diet can provide them with a wide range of nutrients important for their growth and development.
2. Antioxidant properties: Both kale and beets contain antioxidants that help protect the body against oxidative stress and inflammation. The antioxidants found in these vegetables, such as vitamin C and various phytonutrients, can help support the immune system and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
3. Digestive health: The fiber content in both baby kale and beets promotes healthy digestion. Fiber adds bulk to the stool, aiding regular bowel movements and preventing constipation. It also promotes the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, which contributes to a healthy digestive system.
4. Heart health: Beets contain nitrates, which the body converts into nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps dilate blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure. This can be beneficial for cardiovascular health. Additionally, the combination of nutrients found in baby kale, such as potassium, magnesium, and fiber, can support heart health.
5. Brain development: The high nutrient content in organic baby kale and beets, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, can contribute to healthy brain development in infants and young children.
6. Reduced exposure to pesticides: One of the primary reasons people choose organic produce is to minimize exposure to synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. Organic farming practices prohibit the use of these chemicals, which can be especially important when feeding young children who may be more vulnerable to the potential health effects of pesticides.
It's worth noting that while organic baby kale and beets offer these benefits, it's essential to introduce a variety of organic fruits, vegetables, and other nutrient-rich foods to ensure a well-rounded diet for your baby. Always consult with a healthcare professional or pediatrician for personalized advice regarding your baby's specific nutritional needs.

Harvesting first Crops, Bok Choy
Bok Choy Gardening Tips
Home garden produce, bok choy
Bok choy, also known as Chinese cabbage or pak choi, is a nutritious leafy green vegetable that is commonly used in Asian cuisine. It belongs to the brassica family, which includes other vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, and kale. Bok choy has crisp, white stems and dark green leaves, both of which are edible and delicious.
If you're interested in growing bok choy in your home garden, here are some tips to help you get started:
Climate and sunlight: Bok choy prefers cool weather and grows best in temperatures between 50°F and 75°F (10°C to 24°C). It can tolerate some shade but thrives in full sun. Ensure your garden receives at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight each day.
Soil requirements: Bok choy grows well in fertile, well-draining soil. Prepare your garden bed by incorporating organic matter like compost or aged manure to improve the soil's nutrient content and drainage. Aim for a slightly acidic to neutral pH level, around 6.0 to 7.5.
Planting: Bok choy can be started from seeds or transplants. If starting from seeds, sow them directly into the ground or containers about ¼ to ½ inch deep, and keep the soil consistently moist until germination. If using transplants, space them 6 to 8 inches apart in rows, leaving about 12 to 18 inches between rows.
Watering: Bok choy requires regular watering to keep the soil evenly moist. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot. Mulching around the plants can help retain moisture in the soil and reduce weed growth.
Fertilization: Prior to planting, incorporate a balanced organic fertilizer or compost into the soil. Additionally, you can apply a side dressing of nitrogen-rich fertilizer about three weeks after transplanting or when the seedlings are well established.
Maintenance: Keep an eye out for pests like aphids, flea beetles, and cabbage worms, which can damage the leaves. Use organic pest control methods such as handpicking, neem oil, or insecticidal soap to manage infestations. Weeds should also be regularly removed to prevent competition for nutrients and space.
Harvesting: Bok choy is typically ready for harvest within 45 to 60 days from planting, depending on the variety. Harvest the entire plant when it reaches a desirable size. You can cut the leaves at the base or pull out the whole plant, depending on your preference.
Remember to rotate your crops each season to prevent the buildup of pests and diseases. Bok choy can be enjoyed in various dishes, from stir-fries and soups to salads and side dishes.
