They were testing HIM, trying to catch him in some statement about a subject on which they themselves had no agreement and then use it against HIM. The text from Deuteronomy does not explicitly set out grounds for divorce, Moses recognizes the reality of divorce, that it happens, and so he stipulates that a man who divorces his wife may not remarry her after she remarries. The primary purpose of the command was to protect the wife from arbitrary divorce. A man could not divorce his wife and then accuse her of adultery or claim her back after she remarried. Nor could he remarry her for financial gain if her new husband died.

The word metamorphoō metamorphosis means “to change into another form” and is used only a few times in the NT. In ROM 12 and 2COR 3 the word describes the believer’s progressive change into the likeness of Yeshua Messiah. This is not a change in Yeshua’s nature but rather an outward transformation of HIS appearance that reflects HIS true nature.

In Jerusalem, the cleansing process took place in a fullers' field outside the city because of the smell of what was used in the cleaning process, lye. Peter, James, and John, are what many consider to be the inner circle of the disciples. Possible that also these were the ones that needed to be under the LORD’s supervision.The same three were present at the raising of Jairus’s daughter (CH 5) and were with Yeshua in Gethsemane (as we will see in CH 14). Here we see Mark’s Gospel come to this critical event. Everything seems to build up to this point and then everything flows from it. Really the first 8 CH of Mark center around Galilee, the last 8 chapters are in the south, in Judea.

Jairus sees his daughter succumb to the seemingly irreversible fate of death (5:35). The point is that no obstacle is too great for Yeshua’s power, GOD’s power.

The scribes, who would never share a meal with such people for fear of becoming unclean are besides themselves. But we forget or we fail to recognize that the Glory of GOD is found in the absolute love mercy grace etc., that HE has for us. Even HIS wrath to the unbelieving is a part of HIS Glory. Therefore, from HIS love for us comes HIS wrath for those who reject HIM. GOD’s greatest desire is that we humbly serve HIM, come before HIM in all our need. GOD’s desire is that we become more and more like Yeshua.

In the OT GOD dwells in places; in the NT GOD dwells in people. The tabernacle of GOD is no longer a building. It is no longer a temple. GOD does not live in a building anymore. 1COR 6:19-20, Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from GOD, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought for a price: therefore glorify GOD in your body. The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. Until Yeshua and HIS earthly Ministry, if GOD was going to dwell on earth HE had to have a building. Now HE dwells in us, in every believer and follower of Yeshua. By looking at the Tabernacle we see the great privilege we have in this dispensation.
