Sometimes people mistake God in the Old Testament because of a few taken-out-of-context Scriptures. Sometimes people think God is different in the Old Testament than in the New. But God doesn’t change and His Character doesn’t change, however, the Old Testament is about the Covenant God made with the Jewish people, while the New Covenant is between God and Jesus to save us by Jesus’ Sacrifice to pay for our sins.

There are differences between the Old Testament and the New Testament – not in God’s Character, but in how we relate to Him, once reconciled to Him in Christ Jesus. However, the two goats in the Old Testament are part of God’s Process of Forgiving us and we need to understand them so that we can better understand what Jesus has done for us on the cross.
