Sewing Vogue 1643 - The Gucci Jacket Part 3
Hello my friends!!
This pattern has literally been sitting in my To Do pile for 3 years and I am so glad that it has finally seen the light of day! There is a LOT to unpack in this pattern so there are 3 videos to cover it all. Even though there really aren't that many pieces there is a lot to do with them. Plus I am using, as usual, a tricky fabric. This time it is a beautiful loosely woven wool/mohair/something blend that dearly wants to unravel itself. Then there is the ribbon issue. Please, DO NOT BUY GROSGRAIN RIBBON for this project if you value your sanity and happiness. More about that in the video. And finally I will be working with lining, shoulder pads, sleeve headers, and just having a great time. Thank you so much for watching!

Sewing a Classic Flannel Shirt using Butterick 6841 - Part 2
Hello everyone!
I am sewing a classic flannel shirt. This pattern works well for men and women and has all the important parts that a classic shirt should. A nice cuff with continuous lap on the sleeve and also a collar band and separate collar. Now I changed how the collar is sewn and attached, as I do, because I found the pattern's methods not the best, in my opinion.
Also, I'm including machine felled seams in the bodice, french seams in the sleeves, and attaching the sleeve to the bodice with a french seam. This gives a great finish and is really easier that it sounds.
So, because this pattern has so many components the video got fairly long so I have broken it into 2 parts.
Thank you so much for watching!!

Sewing Simplicity 9377 - Button-Up Skirt Tips and Review
Hello Friends!
This is a very different type of skirt. When it is finished it is two totally separate pieces, all ready to button together. I customized my version by using an upcycled fabric for the contrast, and then free motion quilting it. Lots of fun techniques there and an introduction to a keyhole buttonhole.
I love this skirt and hope you enjoy the video!

Sewing Butterick 6733 top - Tips and Review
Hello my friends!
Today's project is a cute little sweetheart neckline top. I made it a lot more time consuming than it needed to be by messing around with trying different things with the sleeves. In the end, after the camera shut down, I just left them loose and flowy :) Anyhow I also added some piping to define the edges and incorporated an accent color fabric. Cute top!
I hope you like it!

Sewing the Chanel Skirt - Lined Waistband and Interfaced Hem
Thank you for making it to the end of this series on Sewing the Chanel Skirt based on Claire Shaeffer's book "Couture Sewing, The Couture Skirt"
First off, I need to admit that I took some liberties and followed her advice in spirit but not to the letter. I did try, but if you have been with me from part one, I hope you understand why.
There is some very good advice and method in her book, so I do recommend buying it if you are interested in this type of sewing.
I appreciate all of your kind words and thank you for watching!!

The Chanel Skirt - Overlap with Cutout, Trim & Hand Sewn Zipper
Hello!
So, this one was tough to get through. There were so many times when I felt frustration coming on, but I believe that by the end I found a way to deal with all of the issues, so far :) There is an interesting (?!?) cut out over the belly that I needed to revisit. Also, I used a strip of selvage edge from the fabric to trim the wrap edge. The back zipper was put in by hand, with no tape, with a special little picket to hide the zipper pull. So many things. And I also came to grips with how my relationship with Claire Shaeffer just had to become a hybrid mesh for the sake of survival.
All this! On today's episode. Thank you so much for watching!

The Chanel Skirt - Easing the Waist and Quilting the Skirt
Hello! And Welcome to part 2 of this skirt project. In this episode I will be following the Claire Shaeffer method (much to my disagreement at times) in the process of gathering and easing the lining and fabric of the skirt. Then we will walk through, slowly I am sorry to say, quilting the skirt and dealing with some loose ends, literally.
Thank you for watching!

The Chanel Skirt - Making and marking the pattern
Hello!
This is the first part of a new video series on making a Chanel type suit. I am using the Claire Shaeffer book to create the pattern in this episode. I am learning a lot about how her guide is put together as I make progress in this project. I'll tell you more about that in the future videos. But for now, I am thread basting/marking. Interpreting random screenshots and making my best guess about a few things. Most turn out right :)
Thanks for watching!

Hello!
This time the video is a little longer but there is a lot involved in these two little sleeves! I'm showing my unique :) construction method, introducing Wigan (who sounds like a Jane Austin novel character, but is much more 2 dimensional), Trim placement, Lining contortions and hard decisions about Buttons. (Who also could be a Jane Austin daughter character, but I digress.
Anyhow, I hope you like it. Thanks for watching!
