There were some familiar names that made the list as well as some new comers, but over the past few years, the music field in particular has consistently had the worst track record for putting out unhealthy and basically trash takes on relationships. Why do you exist? What is your purpose for being? What is the reason and point of your life? This isn’t a trick question. In fact, it’s a question we’ve all answered countless times and countless ways throughout our lives, most of the time subconsciously, and how we answer this question directly impacts every choice and every relationship we’ve ever been in. These are just a few of the lies many of us believe today which have doomed many of our relationships before they’ve even started. But, when we live in a post-Christian, naturalist, nihilistic world, should we really be surprised? And, when one of the most common reasons cited for depression in the U.S. is due to relationship issues, should we really be surprised that, as of May 2023, Gallup has reported that now more than 25% of adults in the U.S. are depressed? So, how does what we believe impact our relationships and how can we correct this downward spiral?

Another Tuesday, another Tuesday talk!

What do you believe? About God? About life? About your place in the world? About your relationships and your future? It is imperative to know what your core beliefs are if you want to understand why you make the decisions you make. But what happens in our hearts and minds when what we believe seems to be in constant conflict with what we do? In these seasons, it can feel like the ground is splitting right between your feet and pulling away in either direction. You have one foot planted on either side, but the chasm is getting wider and wider, and you need to make a choice on either end or fall into the abyss. You believe that one side leads to safety and the other side leads to destruction, so the choice should be simple, but then why are you still paralyzed with fear and unable to make a decision? Why do so many wait so long that they end up falling into the pit rather than choosing a side? When what we believe conflicts with reality, it can produce in us feelings of stress, anxiety and discomfort which we then will try to justify to keep our world making sense. The psychological term for this is known as cognitive dissonance and I believe this is a huge factor at the heart of many of our anxieties today. In the public eye, we have seen countless prominent men – politicians, celebrities, influencers, even pastors and apologists – exposed as liars, manipulators, predators and more. Too many men are falling prey to deception, abandoning their families and betraying the trusts of those they have been entrusted to care for. We have seen measurable generational increases in depression, anxiety, and loneliness. Why is this happening? What is the cause? How do we change the trajectory? How have we created these men without chests and what can we do about it?

Today, we are wrapping up our series on abortion by comparing two of the greatest evils in our modern times; abortion and slavery. Now, this might be a shocking statement for some of you to hear but here it is: Abortion is NOT equal to slavery! You heard that right. Abortion is not equal to slavery because abprtion is actually much, much worse. Today, we’re going to compare some of the similarities between abortion and slavery in the U.S. as well as uncover why abortion is the greater of two evils, so stay with us as we dive in.
