FRONT PARKING | GAUGE HOW FAR TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT | DRIVING WITH MR. T. | HOW TO DRIVE A CAR
When you are driving a car and you pull into a parking spot, how far should you go? You don't want to hit the curb in order to know when to stop the car. So here is what to do in order to know when to stop:
Draw a line in your mind that starts from the bottom of your own side-view mirror (I'm pointing to it here in the video) and stretch that line out left across the parking lot.
When that line from the bottom of your mirror matches up with the line that is at the front of your parking spot (which might be a curb or even just a line where the asphalt meets the grassy border), then you know you can stop the car and still have about a foot of space clearance between your tires and the line, the curb, or the grassy border.
You'll understand this better when you watch the video, and you'll understand it best when you practice it in a parking lot after watching it here.

Hey everybody, I'm Mr. T., and it's my passion and goal to help people everywhere to drive cars and all vehicles safer, better, smarter, more cautiously, more confidently, and in a word, more professionally.
My goal is to "Drive to Save Lives," because I think if everyone does that, then we can greatly reduce, and maybe someday eliminate completely, all car and vehicle accident rates--especially as we look forward to the mainstreaming of self-driving cars and the help they too will provide towards that goal.
I believe that driving a car is much more than simply operating a vehicle to maneuver it forward, backwards, and sideways. Driving a car is really better described as "navigating the roadways," because that is what you are, in fact, doing every time you get behind the wheel.
And road navigation involves so much more than simply pressing on the gas and the brake pedals and steering the vehicle where you want it to go.
True road navigation involves having a fully mature sense of responsibility, an intellect that fully comprehends the danger that is inherent in every drive, and the experienced skills that provide the ability to handle a 5,000-pound "missile" traveling at speeds of upwards of 65 miles per hour. Because that is what a vehicle is--it has the power to save lives when used properly, and that is our goal.
So whether you're a beginner at driving a car, experienced at driving a car, nervous about driving a car, confident about driving a car, getting ready for your DMV driving test or just want to learn how to drive a car and navigate the roads in a safe, professional way, whether you're taking lessons, or just trying to learn some car-driving tips, watching me narrate these car driving videos will help you pass your road test AND learn true road navigation so that your driving skills can be life saving!

KEEP SAFETY ITEMS IN YOUR TRUNK:
Safety items are essential: a vest, a tire gauge, cones, flares, and other items may never be used, but they are the things that when you need them, you really need them and are really glad you have them.
Also don't forget to put some peppermints and granola bars into your glove compartment for use in case you become drowsy and aren't able to pull over because of weather or locale. Usually eating those will give you a lift and keep you alert until you're able to pull over safely.

HOW TO DRIVE IN A TRAFFIC CIRCLE | HOW TO DRIVE A CAR | CAR DRIVING SKILLS | DRIVING WITH MR. T.
A lot of people, especially those driving a car for the first time, are fearful about driving in traffic circles. So keep in mind that traffic circles are like any other roads in that you have to watch to see what other cars are doing and then proceed accordingly. With traffic circles, be sure to use your signals so that other cars know what you intend to do.
And practice entering and exiting the circles at quiet times like before 9:30am on a Saturday or at around 2pm during the week.
You'll see that with practice, traffic circles, or roundabouts, can be mastered easily and provide a great way to keep traffic moving.

THREE POINT TURNS | DRIVING A CAR | DRIVING LESSONS WITH MR. T. | HIT THE RUMBLE FOR MORE VIDEOS
Today I'm talking about making a three-point turn. If you need to turn your car around on a narrow road, you'll have to do it by turning the steering wheel perpendicular to the roadway, then going backwards, then turning into the direction you came from. You might think of it as making a U-turn in slow motion, or in separate parts.
Practice your three-point turns, and you'll master them easily. And they'll come in handy, believe me!
And be sure to hit Subscribe for more of my driving videos.

PARENTS, TEACH THIS SKILL FIRST | BEFORE YOUR STUDENT IS ON THE ROAD, BE SURE TO TEACH THIS SKILL
Many parents are apprehensive about teaching their sons and daughters how to drive a car, and this video-audio is going to explain the most essential skill that should be taught first during driving lessons. Braking quickly, or stopping on a dime, is absolutely the most important skill to teach a new student, and this video will explain why.
If you'd like to support my channel, please like and subscribe for new videos, and let us know in the comments if you've practiced teaching your son or daughter how to stop on a dime yet; and if you're a student, whether you've had the chance to practice this skill.

LINES AND DOTS | HOW TO DRIVE A CAR | CAR DRIVING SKILLS | DRIVING WITH MR. T.
When you're driving your car today, I want you to notice and look carefully at the lines and the dots in the road. These lines separate the road lanes and keep everybody a safe distance from other cars.
If you found value in these videos, please like and subscribe, so that YouTube can send you our videos as we upload them.
And hey, please leave a "Hey Mr. T.," in the comment section, and I'll comment back!

OFF-ROAD RECOVERY | HOW TO DRIVE A CAR | CAR DRIVING SKILLS | DRIVING WITH MR. T.
In today's driving lesson, we're learning to keep your arms steady and straight if your car veers off onto the side of the road.
It might be dark and raininy weather when all of a sudden you find yourself with two tires in the gravel on the side of the road.
Getting back onto the road usually involves pulling the car up over the edge of the road from the rut that the tires are in, so the main thing you want to remember is *never* *never* pull the steering wheel too far to the left. That is called *over-correcting* and it an be life threatening if you're on a two-lane highway and there are large trucks and vehicles speeding by.
So again, stay calm, and firmly pull the car slightly to the left just till you feel that the front tires are both on the road, then proceed straight *without overcorrecting.*
If you can practice this on a very quiet road that has deep ruts, you'll be getting some great experience for the future. And once you've mastered this skill, you'll be safely handling the situation of going off-road and back on your way in no time.
Leave a comment and let me know if you were able to practice this skill!

DRIVING A CAR IN REVERSE | CAR DRIVING SKILLS FOR HOW TO DRIVE A CAR | DRIVING WITH MR. T.
Hey everybody, I'm Mr. T., and it's my passion and goal to help people everywhere to drive cars and all vehicles safer, better, smarter, more cautiously, more confidently, and in a word, more professionally.
In this video I want to show you how to drive a car in reverse.
First, be careful about placing your hand on the top center of the steering wheel.
Next, remember that when you turn to look behind you, you must "disengage your arm from your eyes" so that you don't pull the wheel down as you turn around--because your hands will steer where your eyes go.
Instead, keep your hand steady on the wheel so that you'll keep the car straight as it drives in reverse.
**************************************************************
My goal is to "Drive to Save Lives," because I think if everyone does that, then we can greatly reduce, and maybe someday eliminate completely, the car and vehicle accident rate which today is tragically high.
I believe that driving a car is much more than simply operating a vehicle to maneuver it forward, backwards, and sideways. Driving a car is really better described as "navigating the roadways," because that is what you are, in fact, doing every time you get behind the wheel.

HAND OVER HAND | S-COURSE STEERING | CAR DRIVING SKILLS FOR HOW TO DRIVE A CAR | DRIVING WITH MR. T.
Hey everybody, I'm Mr. T., and it's my passion and goal to help people everywhere to become safer, better, smarter, more cautious, and more confident, in a word, more professional drivers.
In this video I'll narrate how to avoid accidents and road obstructions by swerving at the correct time and place. Note how I'm using hand-over-hand steering, and I'm lining up my sideview mirror with the "accident" or in this case the cones.
And as always, my goal is to "Drive to Save Lives," because I think if everyone does that, then we can greatly reduce, and maybe someday eliminate completely (especially with the help of self-driving vehicles), the current car and vehicle accident rate.
I believe that driving a car is much more than simply operating a vehicle to maneuver it forward, backwards, and sideways. Driving a car is really better described as "navigating the roadways," because that is what you are, in fact, doing every time you get behind the wheel.

HOW TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT | LEARNING TO DRIVE A CAR | DEFENSIVE DRIVING WITH MR. T. | AVOID DANGER
Accident avoidance is a life-saving skill, and when you're learning to drive a car, you need to begin to develop this skill in earnest.
Watch Mr. T. narrate through an accident scenario using cones as the reference points.
Remember that as with so many driving skills, it all comes down to reference points, or "spots on the cars" that you see from your place in the driver's seat.
To avoid accidents, you may have only a split second to view that potential accident--say something falling from the top of a truck in front of you--and react safely, so you'll need to be aware of how much space is around your car at all times.
So ask any questions in the comment section, and I'll be sure to respond. And be sure to Subscribe so you'll get all my future videos too.
So whether you're a beginner at driving a car, experienced at driving a car, nervous about driving a car, confident about driving a car, getting ready for your DMV driving test or just want to learn how to drive a car and navigate the roads in a safe, professional way, whether you're taking lessons, or just trying to learn some car-driving tips, watching Mr. T. narrate these car driving videos will help you pass your road test AND learn true road navigation so that your driving skills can be life saving!

PARK AT AN ANGLE | PARK BETWEEN CARS | DRIVING WITH MR. T.| LEARN TO DRIVE A CAR FROM A PROFESSIONAL
When you're learning to drive a car, Driving with Mr. T. will teach you how to park at an angle using reference points.
So if your passenger sideview mirror is lined up with the painted line, you can turn into the spot and be lined up perfectly. Keep practicing, and you'll see! Watch Mr. T. narrate how to do this in this driving video, and be a better driver.
As with so many driving skills, it all comes down to reference points, or "spots on the cars" that you see from your place in the driver's seat.
Reference points work no matter what size car you're in and what size car you're looking at outside.
For angled parking, the reference point is your passenger-sideview mirror. When that mirror lines up with the white painted line on the ground--the line in front of the spot you want to turn into--then you should turn your steering wheel to the right, and the car will be guided perfectly into the center of that spot.
Try it out, let me know how it goes, and ask a question in the comment section, and I'll be sure to respond. And be sure to Subscribe so you'll get all my future videos.

PARKING BETWEEN CARS | TIGHT SPOTS | Use Reference Points or Spots on the Cars to See Where to Turn
Hi Drivers! When you're learning to drive, parking in tight spots can be done easily the more you practice. Watch Mr. T. narrate it in this driving video, and keep trying it until you're an expert at it.
As with so many driving skills, it all comes down to reference points, or "spots on the cars" that you see from your place in the driver's seat.
Reference points work no matter what size car you're in and what size car you're looking at outside.
Try it out, let me know how it goes, and ask a question in the comment section, and I'll be sure to respond to you. And be sure to Subscribe so you'll get all my future videos too.
So whether you're a beginner driver, an experienced driver, a nervous driver, a confident driver, getting ready for your DMV driving test or just want to learn more to become an excellent road navigator; whether you're taking driving lessons, or just trying to learn some driving tips, watching Mr. T. narrate these driving videos will help you pass your road test AND learn true road navigation so that your driving skills can be life saving!

PARALLEL PARKING | DRIVING LESSONS WITH MR. T. | LEARN HOW TO DRIVE AND PARK EASILY IN TIGHT SPOTS
Hey everybody, parallel parking is a skill that can be mastered pretty quickly if you know which reference points on the car to look at.
For your own car, you'll look at your driver-side mirror, your passenger-side mirror, and your own car's passenger-side small "triangle" window.
For the car in front of your targeted parking spot, you'll look at that car's driver's side mirror and his driver's side rear corner bumper.
Finally, once you start going in reverse, you'll be looking in your driver's side mirror to catch the driver's side headlight of the car behind your targeted parking spot.
Are you totally confused?
No need to be!
Just watch Mr. T. teach his students how to parallel park, and hit replay until you've got it down.
You'll be doing perfect parallel parking in no time!

AVOID ACCIDENTS | SWERVE AND SKID CORRECTLY | LEARN TO DRIVE WITH MR. T. | Be Prepared Every Moment
Hey everybody, learning to avoid accidents is a huge part of becoming a better driver.
Above all you want to leave a lot of space between your car and the car in front of you (so leave one full second of space for every ten miles of speed you're traveling at) and this way you'll have enough time to brake if an accident happens in front of you.
But if you for some reason can't brake in time, then you'll have to swerve and skid a bit, so in this narrated driving video you can watch as Mr. T. teaches his students how to do that safely and effectively.
So whether you're a beginner driver, an experienced driver, a nervous driver, a confident driver, getting ready for your DMV driving test or just want to learn more to become an excellent road navigator; whether you're taking driving lessons, or just trying to learn some driving tips, these driving videos will help you pass your road test AND learn true road navigation so that your driving skills can be life saving!

TRUNK ITEMS: KEEP THESE IN THE TRUNK FOR SAFETY
Every driver should keep these things the vehicle trunk. These are items you would use for an emergency, for safety, and even just for convenience, like a blanket when you're driving in really cold conditions and just need something across your lap if the heat isn't working well.
Safety items are essential: a vest, a tire gauge, cones, flares, and other items may never be used, which would be great, but they are the kinds of things that when you need them, you really need them.
Also don't forget to put some peppermints and granola bars into your glove compartment for use in case you become drowsy and aren't able to pull over because of weather or locale. Usually eating those will give you a lift and keep you alert until you're able to pull over safely.

KEEP EXTRA SPACE TO SPARE AROUND YOUR VEHICLE!
Jump in and drive along with Mr. T. as he explains the importance of keeping lots of space all around your car, and especially in front.
And note:
-- Always keep an eye on the wear and tear of the road which creates a line in the middle of your lane for you to follow.
-- That line is created by all the tires on the road which wear it down to the bluestone.
-- If you follow a car too closely, especially in bad weather, and the car in front of you runs into trouble, then you are invariably going to run into trouble too--and probably make the trouble worse by risking barreling into that car in front.
-- So keep lots and lots of space between your car and the car in front--always!
-- When the lines turn into "dots" you know that that lane is getting ready to end.
-- Scan far ahead and then back in front every few seconds so you will know the correct place to make your turn.

SCANNING AND ROUNDABOUTS, Driving Lessons with Mr. T.
Jump in and drive along with Mr. T. as he demonstrates scanning as you drive, looking for pedestrians and bikers, and preparing to enter a roundabout.
--The purpose of a roundabout is to keep the traffic moving.
--Be sure to get ready to pause before entering the roundabout if there are cars already circling inside it.
--Be sure to use your turn signal especially as you exit the roundabout so the other cars entering will know which way you plan to go, and they won't have to pause or stop.
Note: the driving videos can make Mr. T.'s car look like it's going very fast, but be assured that Mr. T. **always** drives within the speed limit and that it is only because it's a video that it appears to be faster than it actually is.
