In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we film Ludlow ruins and the Ludlow Motel and café (open) as we reach the west side of the Mojave Desert. We filmed the Newberry Springs Day Creek Station ruins, and the Bagdad Café (open) where we spoke to the owner who gave a bit of history, but he did not want to go on camera or be identified. We continue west to find another fenced in ghost town. In Daggett we found the Sportsman's Club ruins. The end of the Desert is Barstow full of friendly people. Our first stop was Revolutions because it sits on the historic Beacon Hotel site, and we spoke with a woman who worked there who wished not to be identified or filmed, but she was OK with filming as she gave us the story. We visited the last Harvey House on Route 66, but this one was fully restored into a museum, and bears the name, Casa Del Desierto. We were greeted by Jeri Justus who gave us a tour.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we show a few stills and finish the Melee game, show the rules and now it is time to figure out the errors to win. Thanks to everyone who followed me all these years on this page. It seemed forever producing this, editing and re-editing every time I learned something new or having to correct a mistake after years of editing and condensing hours of content , so much content, into something interesting. I hope you all get a chance to watch. Thanks again.
The Channel is The Route 66 Adventure: best road trip ever!

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we go to the second end of route 66. The great debate is where it really ends, at Olympic and Lincoln, OR at the Santa Monica pier. So we filmed both locations just in case. In this episode we also pay tribute to some celebrities of the Old Road who have passed since 2010 when all this was filmed. In this segment we honor Bill Shea, (Shea Station), Wilbur Vaughn (Bette Davis Photo), and Gary Turner (Gay Parita).

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure filmed the iconic intersection of Hollywood and Vine, Fatburger, Astro Burger, Barney's Beanery, till we reached Café 50's and our last old road interview. Like I mentioned, these parts are not passionate about the Old Road, so we had nobody to talk to till we met Joey Rooney, the owner of Café 50's, who let us taste his food and gave us some history. Sadly we arrived at one of the two contested end of the road locations, the corner of Olympic & Lincoln. Where is the other end? It will be revealed in the next episode!

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure continue to the Blue Cut Rest Area to film those beautiful blue stones. From there we entered San Bernardino to see where they may have filmed the chase scene in the film "Terminator", and in Fontana, the Bono's Restaurant, Deli and their iconic Orange. We filmed the Original Denny's Restaurant with the windmill in Arcadia, and across the street their County Park Fountain. We filmed the famous Colorado (suicide) Bridge from several angles and then we filmed Cindy's Coffee Shop, both in Eagle Rock. Our next stop is Hollywood that has three alignments of Route 66, but our first attraction is the Hollywood sign.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure Jeri Justus concludes the Harvey House tour, then we visited Debra Hodkin at the Route 66 Museum located in the Harvey House. From here we did our drive by filming of The Route 66 Motel, Sage Motel, the Do Drop Inn ruins, and the Two Sixes Company as we speed to our ultimate destination to meet and speak with Artist Elmer Long about his massive artwork called "Bottle tree Forest". Elmer Long was a celebrity on the old road; unfortunately he is no longer with us. He was fascinating, original and friendly. I am glad to have met him.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we conclude hearing stories from Antonio Salas and Mark Wetmore and headed into the Mojave Desert on the national Old Trails Highway which is Old Route 66. This was a tough leg of the journey to the west coast back in the day due to the desert heat and the early automobiles, but for us we did it in one long day. Our first stop was the Ghost Town of Goffs; Fenner is the only gas station in the desert. We filmed Essex ruins, and Derby road side rock messages, and the Derby mural, and the Cadez Summit Service Station Ruins.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we are in Needles, the gateway to California. Generally speaking, there is a relationship of population and Route 66. Smaller towns are more enthusiastic the larger cities; Eastern California is more enthusiastic then western California, perhaps the reason is their commerce is way less dependent on old road tourism. Needles is eastern California and they love the Old road. Louis Bravo starts this segment with the iconic Palm cottages, then Richard Wilde. the previous owner of the Palm Cottages provided even more history. next stop is the Palo Verde College with Jerry Louis. Linda Fitzpatrick, our guide, gave a little history about their Masonic Hall. The El Garces Hotel, another Harvey House Station, is where we met Dora Taylor, an original Harvey girl of long ago, and she shares history and shows us some relics.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure Hinckley provides some narration about the Gold Road here in Arizona. We passed a few claims as we headed for the ghost Town of Oatman, but it was a ghost town transformed to a very popular tourist attraction populated by Donkeys. From there we do our second side trip to Lake Havasu. Here we can see the authentic London Bridge that was disassembled, shipped here, and reassembled. This town is a tourist trap with plenty of things to see and do. We ate there then headed for Needles, the first town in California. Our first stop as we enter Needles is the iconic Carty Camp Station (closed) where owner Alice Hall gave us history, and across the street is the 66 Motel. When we entered Needles we were greeted by their welcome wagon. Linda Fitzpatrick is our guide in Needles.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we left Kingman and headed out to Cool Springs Cabins, a longer trip than usual, filming the old road. George Chicago met us at this lonely outpost and gave us some history. We met Jim Hinckley in Kingman but I saved him for this segment because He spoke to us all about Gold road, and it worked here. Continuing on the "Gold Road" segment of Rout 66 we filmed the Ed's camp ruins. On the Gold Road there are many mining claims, and we spoke to a prospector. From there we arrived at the famous Sitgreeves pass and Jim gave some history.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we filmed a old grown over spur on our way to Kingman. We checked out the Iconic Oscar Osterman's Shell Station and another spur before we entered Truxton to shoot the Truxton Station and Frontier Motel. Hackberry General Store is our next destination. Then it is the Kozy Corner Motor Park where you will find the Iconic sculpture that reminds me of Easter Island, and next door, the Outpost Saloon. We enter Kingman and met Joshua Noble (our guide) at the Dambar & Steakhouse who gave some history, and then we heard Old Road stories from Danielle Stephens, Betty Grounds and Tammy Upton.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we are heading back, from Grand Canyon, to Flagstaff and pick up Route 66 where we left off. We continue south on old dirt roads and filmed Brannigan Park Dirt Road. We saw the Park in the Pines General Store on our way to today's destination of Williams. Williams is known as the gateway to the Grand Canyon. Here we filmed the El Rancho Motel and Mountainside Inn as we made our way into town. We filmed the Red Garter B&B where we got an old road ghost story from John Holst. Our next stop is Cruisers Cafe 66 and the Grand Canyon Brewery where we met John Peasley who gave us the tour and some history.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we checked out the Winona Bridge attraction in Winona. Our destination today is Flagstaff, and here Route 66 has more traffic than anyplace else on the old road because it is really the only road on this side of the tracks. This is one busy town. We filmed the Museum Club, Miz Zip's, 66 Motel, the Arrowhead Lodge Village, and Granny's Closet restaurant with the mini-giant. This is the city where you can do a great Route 66 side trip to the Grand Canyon, just take route 89 and make a right onto road 64, and that is just what we did!

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we are speaking with Daniel Mazon at the Southwest Indian Art center. We continued west to Meteor City where I wanted to film the largest old road map and the giant dream catcher and further up to film the Meteor Crater Observatory and Museum ruins. South from Meteor City is the iconic Two Guns 'Ghost' resort that we explored and filmed because it was not closed in with fences when we were there. Next was the iconic Twin Arrows trading Post ruin.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we begin at the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook then continued Southwest till we found the Geronimo Trading Post that had a nice Petrified wood display and Tepees. We drove through Joseph City and arrived at the iconic Jack Rabbit Trading post (that may have inspired Henry's Rabbit Ranch. They have a giant rabbit just like Henry. Our destination today is Winslow to stand on a corner, but first we filmed the Navajo and Hopi Indian Arts and Crafts (closed), the Desert Sun Motel (open) and some ruins. We came to film the famous 'Standin' on the Corner" attraction where everyone stands and takes a picture. We stayed the night and the next day we went to the Southwest Indian Art Center and made friends with Daniel Mazon, a direct descendant of a Navajo Indian Chief, and he gave us his family history. Route 66 goes right through the Navajo Reservation.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we explore the Painted Desert, where you can find the remnant of an older alignment of Route 66, and the Petrified Forest. It is unlawful to take anything out of these parks, but no matter. Petrified wood is everywhere, I found some on the roadside, but you can buy this for little money in any trading post around here. Stewart's Petrified Wood Trading post and the Rock Factory sell all the petrified wood you need. We filmed Ryan's old 66 Trading Post (closed), the Sahara Inn (open) and the Mesa Restaurant (open) just before we entered Holbrook where we stayed two nights. In Holbrook we filmed the Butterfield Stage Co. Steakhouse and the iconic Wigwam Motel.

In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we filmed another Hotel ruin in Gallup. In Mentmore we filmed the giant arrows, and Indian, at the Navajo Travel Plaza. In Lupton are three Indian trading Posts, two are open and one is a ruin. The no camera Indian policy is why we have no indoor footage, but the cave is awesome. The trading posts are the Yellow Horse Trading Post, Indian Village (closed), and the Indian Market ruin. We continued south on the older dirt road alignment where we found an unidentified ruin and sheep herded by dogs. We arrived at a great Old Road attraction, the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest. There is so much to see here that we spent the night.
